dave k said WHAT about little's death vision 👀👀👀👀

Avatar

I can't remember precisely, and I can't access the Q&As at the minute to check but yeah, there was a question about what Little/possibly other characters would see if they were to have symbolic visions similar to Franklin, Goodsir etc. as they were dying.

Dave's answer involved Little being a child and playing with a dog, only to be bitten by it, and then scolded by his father for being too soft or too trusting (I'm 99% certain it was for being both too soft and too trusting).

I'm sure you can see why I'm deeply unwell about it!!!!!

No doubt I'll obsess over this for a week and make a longer post about it once I can go back and double-check what was actually said, so yeah, watch this space!

@maedhrus are you actually trying to kill me with these?!

I was so caught up in the meaning behind the vision that I hadn't even properly considered the physical act of being held!

Like, of course - of fucking course - the man who's spent the last ten episodes constantly reaching out to others to express comfort and connection through physical touch would yearn to receive the same thing in return at long last!

Of course he would want that comfort to come in the language that he himself understands best, perhaps the only language he's even vaguely capable of understanding at all as he gradually succumbs, and perhaps the only common language that any one of them has left in the end.

When everything else has fallen away, it all comes down to the body. Your body is all you have left. Your body is all that you are.

I think you're right on the money with the comparison to Jopson too. In both instances, I feel, they're so desperate for physical comfort and contact that they're willing to put themselves through pain in some way in order to receive it (one scraping himself bloody crawling across the shale, one reliving/enduring both the pain of the bite itself and humiliation of being scolded for it afterward).

There's definitely something more to be said on the odd reversion to childhood that several of the characters undergo in some way too. I'm thinking of Hodgson's monologue - reliving his boyhood and the Catholic Mass with his aunties- for example, or even Goodsir's "This place is beautiful to me, even now. To see it, with eyes as a child's. There is wonder here..."

i personally think the lightsaber maul got from mother talzin after his restoration shouldn't have been an ass pull replica of his old one. like where did she even get that from.

it would have been SO much cooler if he'd clung on to obi-wan's first lightsaber after both he and it fell down that reactor shaft on naboo. the symbolism of it all would be so tasty. he kept that thing for years, he turned it red and corrupted it but it still very much carries a part of obi-wan around. maul claims he left him for dead and his lightsaber echoes that sentiment. and imagine if he kept that thing until obi-wan kills him on tatooine so many decades later. bro i wouldn't have recovered

being a fan of a friend's ocs is actually so humiliating....... like yes my favourite character rn is tragically doomed and a pillar of humanity who i think is relevant to the current world. you can find information about them on discord dot com and sometimes in late-night conversations with this guy i know. what the fuck

up late at night thinking about a guy who exists to three people. such a desire to talk about him until my lungs give out and read every scrap of fanfiction on the internet and yet there is NOTHING!!!! and i have to pretend to be NORMAL about this. "oh yes your character is cool. have you considered writing more" meanwhile the wolves in my brain are tearing and biting
