       Draco pushed the cuff links through the cuffs of his dress robes. He was alone for a moment. This was the day that he had dreaded. A single agonizingly long month had passed, since their forced marriage contract was signed and dated. He felt as rough as he had his sixth year of school. Under just as much stress and pressure as The madness of Lord Voldemort, over took his ability to think clearly and think for himself. Draco had thought the torment had been over. But never the less, the wizarding world found another way to bring him down. This time it wasn’t just him, it was Leia R. R. Potter Malfoy as well.

      He felt bile raise with in him. He had constantly felt sick the last few days, but he had boiled this feeling of sickness down to intense emotion and anxiety. ‘Not today, please…’ He took a couple deep breaths, and tried to calm himself down. There was a five year long game, he had to win. There was a knock on his door – Draco looked up from the sink in the bathroom and looked towards the door of the groom suite, it was his father who opened the door first. 

      ‘Some words of advice from an old married fool.’ Lucius spoke first – ‘She is always right. No matter what.’  Draco rolled his eyes and grabbed his dress cloak. ‘You know your mother and I had an arranged marriage. We were both born to the sacred twenty - eight and so your grandparents arranged for us to be married. You can learn to love each other.’ Draco felt the bile raise in his throat again he was sure he was going to vomit and his skin became clammy and cold. “I can’t handle this anymore…” he frowned putting his cloak around him, “when is enough going to be enough?”

       The pair made their way down to the ceremony room where people had sat there waiting for them to arrive. The grooms party made their way down the isle, as dressed in their best. He gulped nervously. As the ceremony was about to begin.

                The month wait had been interesting. But that was the only way she could think to describe it. She’d heard a few offhanded comments from FRIENDS, people she thought were friends at least.. And she was mildly tempted to sabotage her own plan. No, he’d hate me more. Ruby realized now as she stared in the mirror, she had no one to ask for marital advice. She could have asked Mrs. Weasley, but to be honest, Ruby was still bitter about the woman’s attempt to mother her at Grimmauld Place. She exhaled slowly, “this is what its like to be truly alone.” Talking to herself because there was no one else with her. Not even Ginny. No Moony, or Dora. She hadn’t asked anyone to help her get ready, or even sit and keep her company. She feared she’d spend a lot of the next five years alone, so she might as well get used to it.

“That’s alright.” he spoke with a sharp tone, “You should be able to decide that.” He watched her sign her name. Draco couldn’t believe he had been assigned to a Potter. The Ministry must be laughing at him – was this his punishment for his past behavior? He took the quill from her once she was done signing her name, he wrote his own on the line next to her’s. 

      Draco L. Malfoy … 

“It’s just business… a five year partnership at that,” Draco commented as if his words were coming through with a sigh. “Well that’s done.” He finally got up from the sofa and started to walk towards the door past her. He didn’t want to look at her and so he kept his eyes on the floor. Part of this did not seem real, he felt if he didn’t look at her perhaps this didn’t exist. He paused before knocking on the door alerting the Ministry that they were done. 

Draco felt his shoulders droop and he felt heavy again. His eyes searched the grains on the door as if he was searching for something to say, but anything he could say his would make the mood even more negative than he felt he was. He raised his hand to knock on the door and gave two knocks. The door clicked open and the light from the hallway, “See you round.”
