Uneasy lies the Head that Wears a Crown

Two asks in one for you haha but I've got a lot to say :)

1) I don't like calling *any* woman a social climber, no matter how much I don't like them. Men climb the social ladder ALL THE TIME and they're lauded for it and never get called social climbers so I think it's pretty sexist. What I do think is crazy, however, is that Catherine 'I'm going to invite the guy and his wife who own the grocery store down the street from my parents to my wedding' Middleton gets called the social climber while her sister and brother in law were inviting Reese Witherspoon and George Clooney, whom they had barely met before.

2) I truly think that if Meghan and Harry just didn't do that interview in South Africa, *everything* would have been different. That trip was 100% their downfall from the moment it came out that she didn't want to wear her engagement ring. The optics were just terrible and if they just came home from that without doing the interview, took some time to regroup, and maybe came back at a bit of a slower/different pace, things would have been fine.

I agree.

Catherine has been called a social climber since her relationship with William became public but she’s never really done anything that seems “icky.” She has the same friends she’s always had (she’s added new friends, of course but she hasn’t ditched her old friends). She doesn’t do anything to court public attention. Her parents - business owners - being friendly with their neighbors who also happen to be business owners - isn’t “social climbing.” It’s not weird that when her parents made more money they met more people and over the 30+ years that Party Pieces has been in business their social status has changed a bit. People try to make it seem odd but it’s really, really not.

But inviting literal STRANGERS to your wedding is just weird. And the fact that those strangers attended is even weirder. But whatever - they all wanted something & they all got it so no harm no foul right? Everyone knew what was going on - it’s not like anyone was duped.

TMZ have sources everywhere, wouldn’t surprise me if this particular one came from the police. I’m skeptical about theories of them not living together or them living somewhere else, but what this story shows is that this constant contact with the queen they’ve been trying to sell is false. Because wouldn’t you be on high alert to hear news about your very ill grandfather, day and night? And the excuse that they didn’t know doesn’t work either because everyone suspected Philip wasn’t long for this world after his hospital stay. And it’s been said that his health deteriorated in the last few days, so Harry should’ve known to be prepared. I don’t think the family would’ve withheld that from him, unless he was the one refusing to answer calls etc.

I think their biggest mistake was sending out their “friends” to say that Philip going into hospital was just a way to take the attention away from the interview, and then doubling down on saying that it didn’t matter how ill he was, no regrets. Imagine your husband or father goes into the hospital and you don’t know whether he’s going to live or not - and then your own grandson starts saying that it’s just an excuse, it’s just a ploy to divert attention? I would’ve decked him as soon as I saw him.

Yeah that’s why I think this came from someone outside instead of the Sussexes or even the BRF.

So after PP died, we heard from palace sources, which are usually courtiers giving non official statements to the press, that everyone knew PP didn’t have long and that Harry had time to fly back and say goodbye.

Now at this point I am much more likely to believe palace sources than I will ever believe anything that comes from the Sussexes. I think Harry was told PP was sick but I bet Meghan convinced him it was a way of the BRF of controlling them.

Imagine that your beloved grandfather dies, you had a chance to go see him, but you didn’t because your wife was telling you that it was all a ploy to steal attention. Not laying all the blame on Meghan here because Harry should have fly back to London way before PP died, but I really wonder how much she had to do with Harry not returning.

The friends going out and saying that the palace was once again trying to silence them have not been heard from since. Plus we got press immediately from Meghan about how she is ready to forgive the family and move on because of her close bond with PP. Meghan and Harry knew they went too far and were trying to kiss ass. Plus Harry running after William after the ceremony tells me that Harry was desperate to get not only press attention and a photo op, but he was really trying to make sure the world knew that the brothers were United once again.

Didn’t work though.
