Do you still model?

I've stepped away from modeling the past few years, but may work on some collaborations with artists I'm friends with 😊

The Ascension.

Photography by David Love 2017.

David and I had a shoot several months ago and we were looking to come up with a powerful image, not just necessarily in technical terms, but in subject as well. We ended the shoot content that we had gathered enough diverse material to come out with an image that we were both happy with. After weeks of looking over the work and discussion, David and I felt this was the image we had been trying to create.

The Ascension is an image that represents something on a visceral level; it can be interpreted in many ways; ascending from life, rising above it, overcoming self doubt, transcending from a place of hardships in our life to something greater. Becoming something greater. A transition within ourselves.

I’m incredibly happy with what we created and so lucky to be such an integral part of the creative process with the photographers I work with.

What do you mean?

I think it could mean a couple things, like giving up on something that is greatly important to you, even if it's the best or right choice, or not even a choice at all, can be a difficult decision.

Looking for Artists from all genres and media types

Hey Every one,

I wanted to put out a PSA for Artists, musicians, spoken word performers and photographers. I've recently joined the team of the new art blog @creedatelier; our mission is to help share and promote artists from all genres and connect people from different art communities. We want to share artists both seasoned and new in the community, but we really need your help. Our focus is on emerging Artists, but to be honest, it's so hard to find them! I know you are out there! Tumblr has a tendency to promote the more popular blogs, so we really need to dig deep to find the newer artists making a mark for themselves here on the tumblr platform. If you or anyone you've seen has original work, message me, here or at Creed Atelier so I can find you and help show off your work! Are you just new to art, creating music or spoken word? Awesome! We want to see you build your portfolio and watch you grow!

I've been making my way down my list of followers, but it's long and I'm trying to find the artists that I know are out there. Help me out by stopping by, or go to @creedatelier and submit your work or ask for a reblog, we would really love to meet You!

Don't be shy, don't be afraid; the first step to getting your work out there is to put one foot in front of the other, and just jump ❤

Love Always,

Creed Atelier

Bienvenue and welcome to the new creative blog, Creed Atelier. Our mission is to share original work and promote people in the creative community, with a focus on emerging artists, to help build awareness and followers in a creatìve, supportive environment. As a sister blog to Writers Creed, Creed Atelier will go beyond the written word to promote artists working in different factions of the creative community: visual artists, photographers, sculptures, lyricists, musicians, and spoken word performers. We want to support artists and share their original work so as to reach a wider audience. We welcome all submissions and ask only that a few guidelines are followed so that everyone here at Creed Atelier can have a motivating and positive experience. Art is supposed to be provocative, it is supposed to make you think, and with that in mind we ask only that: •All work submitted is done so by the original artist; we cannot accept submissions from third parties. •With respect to creative design and theme, we ask that all submissions respect to gender, race, culture, and class. We are a place of free expression as long as that expression is not derogatory towards other individuals. • We encourage submissions from seasoned creators and new creators alike; don’t be afraid to show off your hard work and ability. Let us share and explore all forms of Art! We will have featured artists and prompts; feel free to ask questions or drop us a note! Know an artist you would like us to promote? Send us their URL so we can reach out to them! With that said, help us reach out to the Creative Community! If you or someone you know has work that you would like to share please follow, submit, and share Creed Atelier! We are just getting started, and we can’t wait to see your work! Keep posted for more updates as we continue to branch out and expand our space.

PSA TO PHOTOGRAPHERS: Sexually violating models needs to stop now.

There have been an alarming number of posts lately of photographers sexually harassing or worse, sexually assaulting models.

This is not right.

When a person agrees to work with you, you need to WORK with them. The end. Period. And just to make sure you are 100% clear, “work” does NOT equal “try to stick weiner inside”.

This isn’t fucking tinder or okcupid.

You are supposed to be creatives, artists, not sex offenders. Keep your fucking hands to yourself and keep your dick in your pants. Do NOT use your position of control to cop a feel, send a dick pic, slut-shame, try to “get some”, or anything. You are at work, so fucking work.

Need to move something on them? Get consent. It’s not that hard, watch, I’ll show you…

Scenario 1 Me: Can I move your hair back? Her: No, I got this. Me: Awesome!

Scenario 2 Me: Can I move your hair back? Her: Sure Me: *moves hair back, then steps back to prepare to take the photo* Me: Awesome!

See? Not so hard, is it…

What? You think a model is giving you sparkle eyes beyond just “working the camera”? Tough shit. Do NOT act on that most likely misguided feeling. You are on the job. Do you just grope people at your day job? What the fuck is wrong with you?

Seriously. Enough. This needs to stop now.

Yep, this isn’t just a GWC thing either. I’ve heard about plenty of established photographers being entirely inappropriate and it’s fucking disgusting. Photographers that have liked this post.

Tired of hearing about people that are supposed to be my peers that think they are the exception all of a sudden.

Reposting because this is a thing that needs to end.

Stop acting like little kids that don’t know any better. Your grown ass people!! Let remember why the reason we create art in the first place! Don’t be a douché!

Entirely inappropriate, no question, no buts…these women work hard, place their trust in us, and expect professionalism- just as we do. Take your Penthouse fantasy and put a staple in it…

This needs to stop.  I was at a workshop recently and the model seemed distracted and upset.  Afterward, she told me one of the other photographers was staring at her over my shoulder while we were shooting.  Be professional and respectful!

I'm going to repost this because I think it's important. I've been very fortunate to work with some wonderful photographers and artists, and every one of them has conducted themselves with grace; but I know a number of other life models who have had terrible experiences with not only photographers who are new to the business but seasoned professionals who were well respected in the community. For any models just getting into life modeling or those that are well into their careers, I only ever sign model releases once the shoot is over. Never sign before the shoot ends. Once you sign you are giving them the right to all of the images of you to do with as they will, but if you are in a compromised position and feel violated or pressured into images you didn't intend to be a part of, you make sure that the model release form is signed at the end of the shoot. If a photographer refuses to shoot before a release form is signed, you walk away right then and there. The photographer may own the images, but you have the right to refuse signing if you are not comfortable with what has gone on in a shoot. Please protect yourself, your body and the images you will become a part of.

Lots of Love,

A.G.
