Also a lot more! And of course, I wouldn’t know about all the people in the community and all the amazing artists that spend hours upon hours to do their best on stage for 3 minutes :) That’s what makes Eurovision special to me :D

I learnt so much about the Armenia-Azerbaijan hostilities, the history of the conflict between Greece and Turkey and how Cyprus fits into that, the persecution of the Saami people in Scandinavia, how Tito broke Yugoslavia away from the USSR (diplomatically), the Yugoslav break-up wars, and lots about the relationships between various countries and peoples in Europe because of the Contest. Sure, it may not have actually taught me these things, but it gave me the impetus to look it all up.
