It was hard to breath at first. The hiss of air a  mish mash against his broken ribs as Aurora forced the movement into his lungs. It felt bitter hot and acidic with a soft wash of needles down his throat. His black fox tailed soaked with sweat clinging to his lips against the dust and dried earth. The elven rogue would get a handle of where he was…if he could see anything. Thankfully the web of Katanja’s held despite wherever he was. It would provide a guide back to them.

The darkness and swell of the empty space just as dark as the dismal light within his vision.

At least Ilyea was safe though…” Aurora whispered coarsely to himself and felt his voice echo and bounce off. Though the mage herself didn’t know it, he knew that Katanja could only save one of them with the spirit’s corroding strength with her webs. Of course that Katanja would chose her…he would want her too. He was worried but he knew dimly that Ilyea would find a way to bring him back.

They promised after all.

In her training with the Scions Ilyea had dealt with various artifacts and relics. From rage inducing duck whistles to Loa tinged daggers that could summon avatars of Hakkar. The mage always used them as much as one could use such things with a bit of trepidation and fun.

But using one that she created herself…..in such a way that it wasn’t intended? Or whatever it should of been..

The blues and greens seemed to stretch on within the limbs of the spider god that extended and faltered in a silent wave. Ilyea could see the beginning of the reanimated heads come out the well and could feel her breath falter as well. Her body felt hot and sticky as pure exhaustion arched through each part of her. Aurora too, was not doing so well despite his prone position. The mage could see the still dripping blood that gathered freshly along him in puddles.

There was no more hesitation…it was do or die.

Ilyea reached back against the dagger as the warmth of magic started to gather and build. The changed piece of metal glowing with the bits of bone and runes that made up its magical exterior. The black metal gleaming with the green tinged bone so that it looked like a reflection of one of out lands many moons.

Ready for the Horde War Council Tonight!

The Scions, of course, as part of the ‘Dove’ Council portion of the Horde War Council are sporting white with our black and gold tabards.  Vigilant and diligent in making certain that refugees and non-combatants are represented and offered a road to safety should the war-faring displace them from their homes.

Cheating on WoW with FF

Our community likes to dabble in the Final Fantasy world, too, and I do so love the aesthetics of FF, not to mention the damn player and guild housing. *stares hard at Blizzard/Activision*  Anyways, here’s a few screens of the Scion chars on FF including my char and Lled’s chars on FF looking pretty badass imo!

I just absolutely love the graphics and housing systems on there.  I -wish- that Blizzard would get their heads out of the sand and add it to their game.  Unfortunately, I think that they’re not going to do it until it’s far, far too late.

I also love the sheer beauty in the outfits on there.  The customization is incredible.

Lovi & Adheles’s Wedding

It was a truly sweet sight to see our friends Loviattar and Adheles, co-gm’s of @duskwatch-saberguard get married.  The roleplay event was as endearing as any could hope for an in game marriage, and the vows were poignant, adorable and sincere.  Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your special day, ladies!!!

@anightsodark you did a wonderful job with the ceremony on Kholrak! @seilune You made a stunning maid-of-honor/best-woman all around!

Shadowtusk Shout-Out!

One of those fun and action packed events where you all but forget to take screenshots.  Or mostly - I usually am pretty on top of my game when it comes to that, but Zu’Daba, chieftain of the @shadowtusk created a wonderful collaborative event between the Scions and Shadowtusk where we went into Nazmir to investigate some areas suspected to have illuminating artifacts, and boy did we ever find some.

Zu’Daba is a machine when it comes to crafting amazing stories and immersive ideas that can flourish into character and story development. This is a shot of Roewyn and the construct Goliath accidentally awakening an undead devilsaur by tugging on a submerged dino bone. It was a great evening and event, and we’re truly honored to call these magnificent roleplayers friends of ours and to enjoy the mutual stories we’ve crafted for the past year!  Thank you Shadowtusk!

This was an incredibly fun event and it was great having some Scions out there and investigating troll ruins!  I don’t have any great screenshots myself, but I did really enjoy the thought and lore put behind it and making it as enjoyable as it was. I have to give props to Zu’Daba -- trying to ST multiple groups at once, spread out, had to have been a real challenge!

Chronicles, Chronomancy & Cubes...

They had been trying many things, and Myra’s degraded - or perhaps not degraded, but instead ‘misaligned’ interface had begun to allow them more leeway.  Myra seemed most concerned with what almost seemed like a feedback loop - which would explain it.  How she’d been corrupted, or at least for the time being corrupted.  They had come to realize that there was some external force at play, because certain things had been consistent with that, and in their realization that the dopples were humunculi, much the same as Valerie it only made sense.

Myra didn’t precisely object to them interacting with her, but instead seemed to want and need to protect them and be stuck in a constant loop of this protection and security checking.  Quite brilliant, truth be told.  Redirecting the commands and prime directive to believe the system was constantly under attack was a loophole that most likely had been used and exploited.  But Myra had allowed Lled and Demy access to the libram and the cube, and in this particular situation, the cube was not hidden from Demytrya, though why was unclear - Demytrya had posited that Taely was now behind the wheel in the cube instead of the part of her that was left within.

Either Taely had grown old enough and able to withstand the paradox, or Demytrya’s proximity to the cube had allowed her to access and take back the bit of her soul she’d embedded within the cube itself.  And thus, they had entered the cube that night, standing in the hallway, unsure where to go or what to do next.  It had been more a matter of testing to see that they -could- go.

Founder’s Day Celebration - Erudition

The Scions of Erudition are celebrating 5 years of being in Erudition.  Though we were formed prior to that on Moon Guard by a year, our roleplay in the hamlet of Erudition as our hub has been one of the cornerstones of our story arcs and building the community into what it is today.

Notes about the celebration:

Because Scions has had many different people in the guild that have contributed to our stories and growth, we offer on this day an OOC armistice as well as an IC armistice (meaning peace) for any past Scion friend or ally that wishes to attend - we are aware this could cause some contention, but we do ask that if you plan to come and left under less than agreeable circumstances, that you leave all of that aside for the evening.  We hope it will allow people to connect with others to enjoy a bit of roleplay nostalgia through a slide show, trivia and even some ‘blooper’ type of social games that we know all of our friends, past and present, will enjoy.

If you’d like to make a speech or say something, please let us know in advance and have it pre-typed so we can give those who want to get in on any roasting or toasting a chance to do so!

Logfile: A Knight’s Oath

Dear Scions,

If you are reading this, keep this away from Lledwyn and Demytrya’s eyes. Those two have not been the same and you can probably gain small bits of clues as you can. I’ve tried to issue runes upon this so it won’t be clear but I have some bits of hair that I can use so it’ll never reach their eyes. Thank for some voodoo magic, quite simple at least.

We cannot tell them how we rescued Aurora or tell them about Neith.

Aurora will do what he usually does as a Ghost for the Clandestine and the Scions. We can negate a few details, but mostly how we scouted around Gilneas to find him in one of their camps. We didn’t recognize him due to how scraggly he looked.  I think at least to preserve a least a few of the mysteries from what we know. Or that we still had messages to follow.

I think if they knew that, if one of us were to get captured like before, they may look towards that. We have every reason to be paranoid. What is happening with Myra…we have to be ever cautious and paranoid.

Though I do admit I tossed a bit of that aside when I was listening to Aurora…everything. I can’t really thank everyone enough for helping me find him. Now we have more days to cherish our life together, thanks to the Scions…

I double checked the JK Pounding book we found. Into the Zalandari Ports: A Dino sized adventure for all that we found near Gilneas. I didn’t see anything particular though there were a few stains here or there, but….

A few of the words were circled.

It came out to Gannon nor or something in particular. Do you think it’s related to everything?

Either way, he’s home. We’ll work towards what we know…and find some way to fix Myra.

Mission: Successful. Found Aurora and he remembers me..

Lessons Learned: FUCK NEITH. FUCK THE FEL. And make sure there is something to find Aurora if he finds himself in some anti magical chamber again.

“How is Lledwyn….doing better after killing me?” Daevyn sighed as he walked with the same leisure, gesturing to the spider leg to emerge from its resting spot. The same harmony between the two was felt as once more the god’s appendage rose to its full height as he raised his arm for another blow.

Ilyea closed her eyes not quite answering the man but she knew of the history between the two.  Her voice was dry as she summoned more words to speak. “You did it to yourself Daevyn….” Which was the wrong way to answer. Anger twisted at the thrall’s visage as he angled the appendage high above his head. Ilyea didn’t quite know of the pair as well as she did just Lledwyn but there had to be something familiar that she could exploit.

“There’s no surprise regarding that. Lledwyn and I trained every day together and I know your every weakness, sister. I can’t believe Dad sullied his blood line with your whore of a mother.”

The shadow of the god’s leg swinging once more towards her filtering any thoughts out of her mind like white noise. Thoughts of death pronounced within her head like a shimmering fog rising up to grapple her mind. Ilyea tried to will a bit of strength to her legs. Her useless fucking legs.

Converging Alignments - Part 2

The screenshots of an ongoing storyline with Scions and Sunreavers, seeking clues to a mystery more than a millenia old.  Roland’s Cartography Map is an artifact of immense though peculiar power.  And yet it is unfinished.  Clues to what would finish it, and its potential should that happen have caused the Scions and Sunreavers to join forces, figuring out this maps mysteries before it can fall into the wrong hands, by force or fortune!

The Lovely Mitsuo’s Gift to Me!

One of our lovely guild artists drew this for me as a reminder that sometimes there are folks in the world that just can’t be reasoned with!  While it’s a bit harsh, it made me giggle.  She’s made me practice saying it in discord, though I suppose for me, it all comes down to ye old Dr. Seuss!

The lovely Lady Astrande hosted a wonderful Love is in the Air event this year and Lledwyn and I got to be part of it by mc’ing a speed-friends ‘3 Minute Mixer’.
