Everyone in the cast and on the crew knew you and Drew had a thing for each other since day one. Your chemistry was pretty undeniable. And you had a feeling Drew would ask you out on an official date soon enough, but you were both having fun flirting with each other until then. 

Most of the cast was hanging out at the park on their day off. JD, Austin and Drew were playing basketball. You had a short attention span and went from playing soccer with Rudy to skateboarding with Chase, Bailey and Cline; both activities you grew up doing and were pretty good at. Eventually, you decided you wanted some attention from Drew.

You started by playing 2 on 2 for a little bit. You and Austin were winning, mostly because Drew kept fouling you (picking you up around the waist was definitely a foul) earning you lots of free throws. Then, it turned into just messing around, Austin and JD gradually moved to the basket on the other side of the court since you and Drew were pretty much just flirting and occasionally shooting a basketball at this point.

“You’re gonna shoot from there?” You asked, looking at Drew who was past the 3pt line practically at half-court. 

“What? You don’t think I can make it?” He asked bouncing the ball. 

You shrugged, “I didn’t say that.” Smugness now apparent on your face.

“Hmm” Drew considered your lack of faith in him, looked at the basket and then looked at you, and without taking his eyes off you he took the shot and it went in. The cockiest smirk ever appeared on his face.

“Lucky shot.” You said evenly, really trying to hide how impressed you were. 

Drew snorted, “Please, I can tell you’re swooning over there.” He said nodding at you.

“Yeah, but I have to keep your ego in check. It’s only a matter of time before you realize how gorgeous and talented you are and then your head is just gonna get so big and you’ll be insufferable. …So I’m just trying to keep you humble.” You explained, holding the basketball as he walked over to you, all shirtless and sweaty in the South Carolina sun. 

“Gorgeous and talented, huh?” Drew asked. 

“Yeah, it’s kind of annoying how perfect you are.” You stated, wrinkling your nose and brushing some his hair out of his face and then starting to dribble a little.

“You’re pretty annoyingly perfect too, ya know?” He said, as he half-heartedly tried to get the ball from you, “BUT luckily you SUCK at basketball, so I don’t think I need to worry about your head getting too big about that.” He smirked, stealing the ball from you easily and then holding it above your head while you tried to jump for it. 

 You pushed him playfully and he just laughed.

 “Okay, well I didn’t play it since I was 5 years old and I’m not a frickin giraffe, like some people!” 

“I thought you said you played a couple years of basketball?” He asked, facing you and dribbling between his legs and easily keeping the ball away from you as you kept trying to reach for it.

“I only played one year and I fouled out of every game because I thought I could run into people like in soccer.” You grumbled quickly. 

Drew chuckled while he set up to take a shot, “Yeah, that checks out.” He said. 

Your mouth dropped open, “What are you talking about?! You have only seen my sweet side!” 

“Pfft!” Drew snorted while he retrieved the ball, “So you’re saying you didn’t threaten to kill Chase yesterday when he shot a blue turtle at you in Mario Kart?” 

You just glared, looking guilty. “Okay, so I’m …spirited.” 

“Hey Austin, what did my ‘sweet and spirited’ Y/N tell you last weekend when she thought you were cheating at that drinking game?” 

You didn’t miss the fact he just called you ‘his Y/N’ and you felt butterflies swarm in your stomach.

“Oh, I believe she said and I quote: ‘get ready to catch these hands bitch’“ 

And Drew raised his eyebrows and looked at you knowingly. 

“Whatever.” you grumbled, rolling your eyes, but you couldn’t hide the smile growing on your face. You saw both Maddy’s leaving to go back home. “Mads, wait up!” You called to both of them. 

“Y/N! Wait,” He called and you turned to face him, as he walked up closer to you. “do you wanna grab drinks with me tonight?” Drew asked. 

And you vaguely noticed the rest of the cast not-so-subtly stopping their activities to listen to your response.

You looked at him for a second and smirked, “Is this you finally asking me on a date, Starkey?” 

He chuckled, “That depends… are you saying yes?” 

“Pick me up at 8″ You smirked trying to maintain an air of coolness. 

“Yes ma’am” he replied, matching your smirk while the rest of the cast cheered. 

“Whoo!”

“Finally!”

“Owwwww!”

“We told you she’d say yes!”

You walked over to Bailey and Cline who gave you excited smiles and when you reached them you did a little happy dance and squealed with them, but then turned to see Drew laughing at you acting like a 13 year old. So you cleared your throat and fixed your hair and regained your cool composure, before winking at him and walking back with the girls.
