and also, I think this season Stiles was kind of the one relying on Lydia. She fought for him & even though she's kinda defenseless she would go along with every bizarre plan her friends have. She literally pushed Liam behind her in front of the dread doctor & I think Malia too.
Season 6 was basically just Lydia having more screen time than Scott (who the show is about but suddenly he's the background character and forgotten). Lydia constantly breaking down over stiles got old. Yeah they're friends but so we're the others.

I don't think Allison was relying on a man, I think maybe at first but then she went through that phase where she became badass and fought for herself. Just food for thought.
She went over board in trying to prove herself. She was constantly switching sides between Kate, Scott, Gerard and her dad. It got old quickly and I found her character untrustworthy.

Tbh. The more I watch Teen Wolf, the less I like Lydia. The Stydia fandom has completely ruined her character for me. Now she's just like Allison was. Relying...solely one a man.. Yet you know. Malia should be her own anchor yep. Totally makes sense.

So my grandma watches teen wolf right. She called me the other day begging for me to tell her stiles doesn’t end up with Lydia bc “she doesn’t love him. She just loves the idea of having someone love her.” And explained to me that’s what happens with most girls who tend to “fall in love” with the guy who has “loved” them. She also then told me “Stiles is the same to her though. He loves the idea of her. He’s always been the shadow of Scott. Well. Until recently when Scott is suddenly a background character.”
