Audience

(This takes place in the universe of Did You Miss Me? by @krethes and @fantismal )

The rest of the audience filtered in around Remus as he settled into his seat. Some of them were talking excitedly about "Sisi's comeback", something Alice and the rest of the team had tried to squash as much as possible.

Lights flashed, then went down completely and Sirius walked into the mostly bare stage with his guitar. Thunderous applause broke out as soon as he was visible and he took a minute to smile and wave before sitting down on the stool and adjusting the mic before launching into his first song.

Remus was immediately caught up in Sirius's otherworldly beauty and voice as he sang one of the first songs he'd written on his own. It wasn't always easy to share his boyfriend with the world, but he was also so proud of him and wanted everyone to see how far he'd come.

The song finished and Sirius spoke into the mic. "Thank you. I'm so happy all of you could be here tonight. This next one goes out to someone special. It's called Walking in the Moonlight."

I don't think I ever told anyone, not even Krethes, but this is exactly how Sirius would want to come back to public performing. Just him and a guitar and his own music. And it would all be sung to Remus (and James), who never missed a show.

I did a thing because I absolutely loved reading DYMM a while back and the talk about the scars resonated deeply with me : so much that I felt like, for the very first time, that I wanted to actually complete and do something.

This is absolutely outstandingly beautiful. Every time new things are created for or inspired by Did You Miss Me?, I feel incredibly humbled and honored. Like…this…is…so good??? So powerful and poignant and it feels so real.

Wowie wow wow wow, where do I begin? I read Did You Miss Me? by @krethes and @fantismal over the past week or so and my life is forever changed. This fic is proof that non-magical AUs still contain magic.

Clear your schedule for a few days. Just trust me.

DYMM is full of highs and lows, so many emotions that you'll just get swept along with because you'll be so entranced. I laughed, I cried. My heart clenched and my stomach dropped; I got that breathless rush of anticipation. You'll be right there in it.

The characterizations? Killer. You'll get everyone's distinct voices and you'll be absolutely obsessed with all of them by the time you're done. The story and the pacing leave absolutely zero room for dull moments; this is definitely one where you'll be telling yourself "just one more chapter" at 3AM on a work night.

There are so many great nods to canon, too- it's sort of like being part of a special club, where the authors are sitting next to you, ready for a nudge and a secret smile when you spot it.

And the smut, friends? Is FIRE. Never have I ever read more gorgeous phone sex. If you have even an ounce of doubt, trust me: it'll be squashed SO FAST. "Remus Lupin's Non-Existent Refractory Period" is probably now my all-time favorite tag. It hits hard and fast and often and phew... FIRE, I SAY.

Ugh, this is one of those fics where I wish I could Obliviate myself and start all over again fresh. It's 1,000,000% worth the time and dedication it'll take to read this mammoth. Add it to your TBR list immediately, and come shout in my DMs (or the DYMM Discord!) if you start it!

Sirius’s Serenade

(This scene came out of a discussion on Discord about Sirius’s voice in Did You Miss Me? by @fantismal and @krethes)

“Lily, what’s your favorite song?” Sirius asked, grinning. 

Lily looked from Sirius to James like this was a trap. “Oh Sirius, you don’t have to- ” she started. 

“Never mind, I know one.” Sirius said. “James, can I borrow your phone?” James handed his phone over and Sirius searched for a moment before he found what he wanted. Then he pushed the ottoman into the middle of the living room and adjusted the lights. 

James had this small, fond smile as he watched Sirius set his stage. Perching on the ottoman, he winked at Remus but turned toward Lily. He hit play on James’ phone and the intro began playing.

“The snow glows white on the mountain tonight…” he began. Lily gasped and James started laughing quietly. Remus wondered if impromptu concerts were  a common occurrence in their dorm at Durmstrang.

The song began to build. Even though Remus knew Sirius was a famous pop star, he was not prepared for the wall of sound that was Sirius’s voice. It was rich, strong, effortless. Remus was dumbstruck. 

When the song was over, they all applauded and Sirius gave an exaggerated bow. Remus just stared at him as Sirius climbed into his lap. “You’re amazing.” Remus murmured, pulling him close. Sirius gave him one of his dazzling smiles in return. 

“That wasn’t for you. This is for you. I wrote it on Halloween." 

Sirius began to sing softly so only Remus could hear. He heard James and Lily leave the room, but he couldn’t look away from Sirius’s mesmerizing face. If he hadn’t already fallen hard for him, Remus would have at this moment.

I dunno if I’ve ever actually made my own post on this account but… Hi friends! I’ve been doing some (kinda different from my usual type) art recently! These are all for an incredible fic called Did You Miss Me? by @krethes and Fantismal over on AO3 that everyone should definitely check out! I’m pretty proud of how I’ve been pushing my art & the fic is amazingly written (if a bit dark! - make sure you read the tags) Anywhooo maybe someday I’ll post more of the art I’ve done. 

Truly, I am astounded by a) the speed in which this art is done and b) like, the quality?? Just…mind blown.

Also c) that ANYONE wants to make art for a fic I wrote. I’m humbled with every new fanwork that comes into existence, and thank you @themattimouse for creating such gorgeous pieces for us to feast our eyes on.

If there is anyone actually left in the Wolfstar fandom who is NOT reading “Did You Miss Me” by Fantismal and Krethes, you need to run, not walk, and read it right now. This is probably my favorite fanfic I’ve ever read, no joke. It keeps me up at night trying to figure out where it’s going next. It’s just … such a gift. Do yourself a favor and read it nowwwwww!
