nagi seishiro didn’t deserve you wasn’t a new thought for him. in the beginning it was a joke; you were far out of nagi’s league and he didn’t deserve you — it was a joke until it wasn’t.
reo feels so bad about it, he really does, but he couldn't help it!!! you’re so lovely, so kind, so pretty, everything he ever wanted.
he can’t help but scowl everytime nagi blows you off due to laziness. reo would never do that to you! you were often so busy, drowning in your responsibilities as class president and being in the student council, but you always made time for your boyfriend, why didn’t he do the same for you? reo knew nagi was taking advantage of your love for him, always saying not now and promising next time. reo felt like he could physically see the hope leave your eyes at every rejection.
one day reo caught sight of your sad face rounding the corner. he stopped you with a call of your name and a hand around your wrist, “what's wrong?”
you were quick to wipe the few tears from your face but your bottom lip quivered, “‘t’s nothing, reo,”
and when you avoided eye contact and reo’s jaw clenched. that idiot. couldn't he see you were at your wits end. he had half the mind to tell you to leave him. to leave nagi and be with him instead. he would treat you better than nagi ever could! he did his best to comfort you while containing this anger; pulling you in for a long hug, enjoying it more than he should, while running his hand up and down your back.
you chuckled weakly, “he’s your best friend,”
“doesn’t make him less of an idiot,” reo smile and, reluctantly, pull away from the hug, fixing your uniform tie that got messed up during the hug.
after sending you on your way, he went in the direction you had come from, finding nagi dozing off over a desk that looked comically small in comparison to his large body. reo kicked the desk, waking the other from his sleep, “oi nagi,”
nagi looks at reo with sleepy eyes, watching as reo leans closer to his face, “you’re a fucking idiot,”
and nagi is so confused,, he hasn’t done anything to anyone,, why’s reo so mad. he mutters for him to calm down and reo clicks his tongue. purple eyes look into nagi’s almost black ones. a grin breaks out on his face, “you really don’t know, huh? god,”
nagi’s confusion is crystal clear. he really has no idea what’s going on. the last thing he remembers before closing his eyes was declining your invitation to go out on a date sometime later that week.
reo runs a hand through his hair and, “you know, nagi, when she breaks up with you i’m gonna be right beside her, comforting her, and then eventually–”
nagi kicking the desk away from him when he stands up to his full height cuts him off. huh, seems like you do still mean something to the white haired. reo kisses his teeth as nagi looms over him.
“why would i? if you’re not gonna be a good boyfriend to her, i might as well, right?”
