     It’s odd to think that not too long ago that he and the one before him were suiting up to go into the battle that they believed to be their last. Without a moment’s hesitation they’d both do whatever they could to keep their comrades fallen, and yet here they were, with clipped wings, waiting for what happens next. Amon likes to think they did all they could, but deep down he knows much more could’ve been done. Now, here they are once more, face to face, still corpses marching to the beat of the war drum to eternal rest.
