Just so we’re clear

  • supporting Brian’s right to do whatever he wants in his career and understanding that he’s still going to continue making delightfully weird content

and

  • being sad that we’re not gonna get more of the specific weird content he produces on polygon and/or being unsettled by the change in general

aren’t contradictory, and

  • Polygon is a website with 5 other video producers who are still around doing their best to produce excellent content, and a lot of Brian’s content wouldn’t have been possible without them either

and

  • Polygon as a website has been severely under-utilising these other video producers and has been producing fewer and fewer of the kinds of video series the fanbase fell in love with, and have been leaning more heavily on Brian-led content, such that they’re going to have to make some significant changes if they’re going to maintain their popularity

aren’t mutually exclusive opinions either

i didn't even think about it until people started pointing it out on twitter but isn't it an incredible coincidence that disney released the news about the mandalorian season 2 on the same day john boyega called them out on their shitty treatment of him in the star wars films during his GQ interview?

alternate title: young children gawk at flaming homosexuals

Another alternate title: the bailey school kids need to mind their own damn business

the covers with women are equally gay

so basically having these obnoxious kids pry into your personal life is mlm/wlw solidarity

HEY

Hamilton: An American Musical portrays the founding fathers in a far more positive light than they deserve and neglects to mention the horrific impact these men had on both African Americans as a collective and the individual Black people they interacted with and portrays America through rose-tinted glasses

AND

Hamilton : An American Musical was instrumental in igniting a new wave of musical appreciation and modern musicals that sparked a generation's interest in history while also giving recognition and roles to incredible Actors and Actresses of color and is a musical masterpiece

Are opinions that can and should coexist. It's okay to be critical of the things you consume. It's encouraged even.

y’all…“storm area 51, they can’t stop all of us” was only 8 months ago. that’s no time at all. i really thought it was like 2 years ago. like if a child was conceived on the day they “stormed area 51,” it probably wouldn’t even be born yet. these past five years have been the longest century of my life.
