Hello! This is basically an indulgant fanart blog for my drawings based on actors/characters/pairings I obsess over. Mostly Merlin stuff, but definitely multi-fandom. There's Merthur, Stucky, 00Q... etc! Enjoy! Also, welcome back! There is a huge following for Hob/Dream on here, so if you felt like going creatively or just generally insane over them, there'd be a lot of people cheering you on. No pressure of course, only do what brings you joy, but your beautiful art would be much welcomed and loved <3

Oh, thank you for making sure I'm aware of the happy news! I'll have to make a day of adjusting all my censored drawings back to their naked goodness, lol... I'll start with that one.

So I'm officially hopping onto the "Dreamling" bandwagon! ♡ I hope a good number of my followers are already on board, lol. I mean, Dream and Merlin have a few things in common, anyhow... *cough* scrawny, dark-haired, pale, magical twinks *cough* Well, this half-an-episode on-screen relationship has managed to lure me back to some self-indulgent shippy drawing after about a year and a half! I was also tempted after finding out tumblr allows nudity again (my perverted mind rejoiced!) Rest assured, I'll have Dream and Hob take advantage of this eventually... ;)

LONG UPDATE - SORRY

Hello tumblr, my old friends.... I’m so sorry I keep saying I’m going to be active again, only to disappear after a few posts! It’s been well over a year since I last shared anything! I deeply regret failing to reply to so many messages, and I apologize if I’ve left some artistic obligations unfulfilled (please feel free to let me know if I owe you a drawing).

I'll avoid ranting too much about other things and just admit to this – I’m struggling to draw “for fun” again! I put so much creative energy into a studio job which is frequently burning me out, and even making art to sell at local conventions has felt stressful and dispassionate. I'm grateful I've gained these opportunities but am questioning my goals... My work/life balance is definitely a mess...

Art for the lovely @touchofstrange (who bid on a commissioned piece to help fundraise for @coinelot years ago...) I really enjoyed illustrating this touching scene from their story: “All Things Bright and Beautiful” (on AO3). I won't spoil anything beyond what my drawing suggests, but do certainly recommend reading the fic for context! ;)

For those unable to get to the story, I still hope you enjoy seeing these angsty, magic boys - and the cat! ❤

(Festival season coming up, so expect me to be a touch more active! Doing @aftercamlann ... and probably @kinkalot ... I've repressed myself from Merlin smut for too long, haha...)

Clear All The Cobwebs

On one of their adventures, they had found a boulder with a hole in the top. Arthur had been carrying a small branch and, as children do, decided to shove the branch into the hole. And then couldn’t pull it back out.
“Guess you sacrificed your sword,” Merlin had teased while Arthur scowled.
“I didn’t sacrifice it. I’m saving it.” He had pat the branch determinedly. “I’m putting it back where it belongs. The next king of Albion will be able to pull it from the stone.”
Merlin had snorted, of course, but then he’d given a pretty great speech in honor of the new legend. Together they had named the branch-sword “Excalibur” and marked the area with the stone as sacred. They visited the stone multiple times in the next couple of months, and though Arthur hadn’t been there in over a decade, he still remembered the way.

Summary:   Arthur and Merlin used to be inseparable, best friends of the closest kind, but a blackout on the eve of Arthur’s thirteenth birthday changed everything. That was the day Arthur had to make a choice between keeping his best friend close or keeping him safe from his father. Ten years later, Arthur has mastered the art of pretending Merlin isn’t special, but then he and Merlin end up working on their college’s centennial celebration together. Now Arthur’s just trying to hold everything together without looking like a fool or an asshole. Or both. Arthur is about to find out that far more people need protecting than just his neighbor and maybe, just maybe, he doesn’t have to keep his distance from Merlin after all.
