A bit of sawing later and I realized the head is (hard) vinyl. Should have realized that sooner cause yeah, the mane is rooted after all. Here she is tentatively propped on the 32" Playdate Ariel body. I don't love it. I want her on the 60cm Xinyi, but even if acetone shrinking would work on the pony, I don't think there's any way it would get small enough:

And a picture of the Ariel neck knob just in case anyone out there needed to know. Head came off pretty easy after putting hot rice sock around her neck for a bit. Nothing compared to the dang tall Monster High. And her arm came cracked. 😒

I... I actually really like her proportions on the Ariel body? And there's a bay version! Guess that decides it: I need another big Moana and a bay horse head.

As I recall the Moana used to have slightly different hands than Ariel/Rapunzel? I remember liking hers a LOT better for some reason but can't picture her.

I am a super messy, unpolished modder but I will certainly post some photos at various stages. Not sure how I'll be dressing her, yet, but that's a later me problem 8D

I will probably not permanently attach head and body, because I enjoy modular stuff and pose adjustments too much for a static head, so we'll see what I can figure out for attaching it lol

And yeah, Moana has, or at least had, her own hand sculpts, and broader, more stable feet than at least Rapunzel (I didn't look too close at Ariel's feet so I don't remember, and I no longer have her on hand after the move), probably because she didn't have any shoes to worry about.

progress photos! I just unfastened the tie down situation that was holding the base of the head/neck in place after heating up the vinyl for some reshaping. She's going to need exclusively higher than I usually like collars both to hold her head in place and to obscure the edge, at least so long as I want her to have a somewhat mobile head. But I am pleased that I've gotten this far. Currently working on something for her to wear.

Welp, the neck reshaping reverted overnight, but today I worked on the base layer of her outfit some. She's gonna need a name, eventually. We're gonna be rolling with pseudo-Edwardian fashion cause I feel like it.

Local horse girl seeks new name. Seriously though I love her but Idk what to even begin to call her. I think she needs a star, and some hand and foot detailing, but that's a later me problem. I got very lucky, because this dress came with the world's most awkwardly constructed bonnet, and I've used it as a 'bust enhancer' under the dress which is doing a very nice job of gently smoothing over the shape of her chest so it looks a little more like a properly Edwardian shape. It also came with nice long waist ties, which I've used as a sash at the waist for now. I stitched the sleeves into place from wrist to halfway up the forearm with a large whip stitch, and it's visible but I laid it along the inside of her forearms so it should mostly stay hidden. It will need removing to get the dress on and off. I also ran a bit of yarn through the middle openings in the floral lace along the neckline(it is the same as on the sleeve cuffs) and used that to gather the neckline to fit more closely to the horse neck. I may eventually replace it with a solid collar, if I decide to do lots of tiny hand sewing. The rest of the dress is, so far, entirely unaltered. It's not perfect but I think it's pretty.

sure wish that reshaping had stuck, it was so good. have had the same problem reshaping soft hands, they sprung back to normal overnight. frustrating.

I'm not even allergic to pollen but there's so much out there I inhaled too much at once yesterday on a hike and almost fkking died in the middle of the woods

It's super bad rn depending on where you are. I had to go for a second shower today after going outside and the water was yellow from washing my hair 🙃

I've mentioned it before, but everyone dealing with this, take extra care! Too much pollen in the air can have a negative effect on mood disorders and such.
