this is the reality of the situation in gaza.

this truce is not even the bare minimum of what israel could do. they stopped actively murdering palestinians but left enough destruction so they wouldn’t be able to recuperate. put enough restrictions to still oppress and torture them.

there are decaying bodies in the streets. there aren’t enough medical supplies to help treat the victims. there isn’t enough space in hospitals in the south of gaza (according to a spokesman of the MoH, as reported by QudsNetwork).

people who want to return home are being shot down since the idf is still around the area despite the ceasefire (Al Jazeera). there are also israeli drones in south of gaza (journalist Muhammad Smiry)

this fight is not over. this cause is not over. we are not done until palestinians get liberated completely and their land and rights are returned to them.

please do not get complacent. please do not stay silent. please keep speaking up. please keep contacting your representatives. please keep protesting and raising awareness.

your voices and support matters. it’s exactly why israel is trying so hard to spread propaganda and even organising phishing scams on their official social media. they’re using every ridiculous, callous, deceptive trick in the book to sway public opinion. but do not let them!

palestinian liberation is humankind’s liberation. none of us are free until oppressive and colonial forces around the world are brought to justice and charged for their crimes. do not stop speaking up. if this is a lifelong battle, so be it! we will speak up and amplify voices of the marginalised and oppressed until the very end.

An hour or two later, you were seated on the couch next to Hyunjin, who was holding your hand and rubbing his thumb over it protectively. 

           After Minho returned from doing God knows what, he sulked in the corner like an angry toddler. His anger radiated in the room you three were in, and he was pissed. After deciding to sit, he had spent the better half of 20 minutes mumbling angry, incoherent sentences under his breath. It wasn’t until Chan returned that he had settled down a bit.

Conversations with Minho

"Are those flowers for me?", you squeal when Minho enters the living room, a huge bouquet of baby's breath in his hands. 

"No, they are for the neighbor next door", he smirks and you swat his arm playfully, before grabbing the dainty white flowers from him. 

"What's the occasion, baby?", you question as you carefully place the bouquet in a vase filled with water. 

"They were on discount", he winks and you roll your eyes, humming a "sure sure" under your breath.

When you're done, you skip toward Minho who was watching you- a soft smile on his face. You lace your hands around his neck, and he holds your waist; his thumbs swiping gently on your exposed sides.

Spring

"I used to like spring, but I don't anymore." 

That's what Hyunjin told you on your third date when you asked about his favorite season. His answer might have seemed innocent to an outsider, but the way he said it made you pause in your tracks. 

There was a slight waver in his voice, so imperceptible you could've missed it had you not been listening to him intently. His hold on his spoon tightened, only for a fleeting second, before it returned to normal once again. But you noticed.

Minho sweeps the countertop with a blue rug, wiping away the scattered droplets of spilled coffee. He grabs a pastry from the showcase- a blondie with a raspberry drizzle on top, placing it on a plate decorated with dainty flowers. And then he gives it to the middle-aged man sitting near the back of the café. 

Minho is in Aurora, completing his mid-day shift, and yet it feels as if he's only physically there. His body is moving on auto-pilot, mechanically performing the familiar tasks etched into his memory by now. And he likes it, since it drowns out the tumultuous thoughts plaguing his mind.

you snickered at the video playing on your phone screen and tapped twice before moving on the one underneath. some would say you were stuck in a loop—having sat on your bed for the past 20 minutes, mindlessly scrolling on your phone, not a thought in your head. you however, would call it early morning entertainment. it wasn’t like you had anything to do. it was the weekend and you had absolutely no plans.

you chuckled. ‘i can see that. but why did you bring it to the bed like a cat who just caught a lizard?’

‘i wanna do your makeup,’ he said softly, his grin unwavering. you lifted your brows, tossing him a skeptical look, and his eyes rounded, the grin dissolving into a shy, awkward smile. ’can i… do your makeup? please?’ he corrected.
