Posting due to an emergency- please share widely if you're local to Chicagoland.

If anyone in the Chicagoland area sees this, a friend's service dog prospect is in need of immediate boarding from tomorrow until May 6. Winnie is about 40 pounds and is not dog-reactive at all, but the person caring for her was hospitalized and so my buddy is looking for a short term emergency foster!

I'm available to help with any transportation (you wouldn't need to drive her anywhere!) and compensation+coverage for food/medical/etc. would be involved. You wouldn't need to pay for her stuff, just make sure she has a place to stay and walk her and call me if she needs to go to the vet.

If this is something you or someone you know could help with, please let me know. It's an emergency situation, so for the first time in... well over a year, I am opening my inbox in case this is something you can help with. Please DM me if you or anyone you know can help.

doing meta roleplay via inventory management

karlach carries the food i find, especially herbs and giant hunks of roasted meat, because she is absolutely a girl who would have random mushrooms and half a rotisserie chicken just hanging out in her cargo shorts pocket

laezel holds weapons so she can judgementally grab a weak-ass dagger out of someone's hands and replace it with a cool sword (with which they have no proficiency)

astarion gets all the wine and jewelry because he's my fancy little pet and pawns it all at the first opportunity

gale gets all the books he can carry, which is like, ten, but this way i can imagine the tomes he's always consulting at camp are limericks about mermaid sex

shadowheart gets religious relics and gear because i think it's equally funny to put her in necklaces idolizing her version of satan and/or in holy vestments she pried off of her dead brothers in christ

halsin also now has his journal and pipe, because i stole those 70 hours ago and carried them all this way assuming he would have SOME kind of reaction to me clearly robbing his house while he was at work

I think a lot of like discourse of what to focus on with this or that thing gets the end goal and things to ease newcomers into your ideas confused with each other.

Like yes perhaps the end goal is to get UBI going but if your Uncle Jerry is currently struggling with the concept of taxes maybe get him to understand the cost of road maintenance first before you start trying to get him onboard with free preschool.

Also just because someone is explaining the concept of taxes to Uncle Jerry doesn’t mean they don’t believe in free childcare.

Yes those ramps are for people with mobility aids. Able bodied moms with strollers can manage. But if you hear your neighbor Jessica complaining about how hard it is to get on the sidewalk with a stroller that can be an opening to be like ugh right and my sister can’t even get her walker up there either

Like yeah there’s other things more important to focus on but now you’ve got Jessica thinking about accessibility and she’s very good at writing angry letters to the city council.

Also I got my family to be politically anti-car by showing them cool technology like Dutch pedestrian-centric crossing lights and trolley busses because they’re people that are into neat technology and motors and things like that. The angry politics came later. Now they even take the bus once in a while in the car-centric city they live in.

Obviously neat little fun facts about crossing lights aren’t the end all be all of being politically anti-car but it’s a fun icebreaker for the right kind of person. And you shouldn’t assume that better crossing lights are my end goal just because I open with that.
