Armitage Hux is a native of the Deep South who fled it for safer climes, to pull himself from the stifling quagmire of a small backwoods town. With the death of his father, however, his bloodlines call him back to the property that has blessed- and plagued- his family for centuries.
Unspoken secrets fill his inheritance, skeletons fill every closet, and a monster lurks in the shadows, tied to two bloodlines joined by fate, greed and hatred that has spanned across generations.
Predators of all kinds pull from every side with his return- bigoted enemies returning for money from the newly returned old money; rival funeral homes seeking to seize or starve his family business, and something that leaves corpses on his doorstep.
As Hux learns about his family’s tainted legacy that has now become his burden, he discovers there is more involved than just having to be the curator of property that the locals shun with hushed whispers, that he has inherited more than an estate- he also has a terrible and loathsome horror tied to his very blood.
This work is deeply personal to me, as it takes place where I grew up, features real people that I knew as a child/teenager, and helped me achieve a bit of closure by working out some of my demons through this writing.
I want to thank everyone that has commented, read, left kudos, and encouraged me throughout the process of writing it. I also want to thank y'all for the feedback that has resulted in this turning into a completely different monster in its original form- so different, I can post this, in its entirety, for y'all to read.

Things are getting worse so rapidly that I can’t keep up with changes. It feels as if my government actually wages war with my country as well. All the new laws and initiatives seem to be created with “the worse - the better” idea in mind.
I have forgotten to show the works made in summer. Will post them next.
White boxes and extremism crime
Another brand bites the dust. Tetra Pak company that worked in Russia since 1972 is leaving, so getting your usual packaging becomes harder. This brand also encountered a shortage of paint and has to make juice boxes less colorfull.
Have you ever dreamed of a waste-free, eco-friendly future with less packaging and more stuff like glass bottles or “bring your own bottle to shop” actions? Guess, we are moving in that direction. Shame, we had to start a fucking war for this.
Meanwhile the retail chain has to warn customers that Meta corporation is an extremist organization in Russia. But naturally almost all brends had their own accounts, ads etc. And many printed Facebook or Instagram logo on their products. Nowdays it’s a crime, accessory to extremism. So, they have to write that the logos have been printed BEFORE the law came into force. Hoping that weirdos wouldn’t snitch that some dumb chocolate bar has “visit us on Instagram for more contests and content!” written on it.
