If they had, they certainly hadn't approached her about it. So either she had a hell of a secret admirer list, or she just wasn't really on anyone's radar. Either way, it was fine. She'd kind of gotten used to her situation.
But then Gerry had come along, and christ help her, she realized everything she'd been missing out on.
He made her realize just how good it was to be cared for by someone, how good it was to hold someone, to kiss them...To share thoughts and secrets and quiet little moments. He made her feel like she was someone important, someone worth knowing and caring about. He made her feel loved, in his own way.
It was huge to her that he felt the same, that he shared her affection and attraction. After her initial confession, she'd been sure that she'd never see him again, but now look at them. Awkwardly flirting with one another like a couple of secondary students.
The cringe? She could handle it. He was worth it.
"Well, there are some boxes I need to bring down from upstairs and unpack, and a display that needs moving." she mused, mentally going over all of the tasks she'd been meaning to do, but lacked the manpower to take care of. "Moving the boxes first might be a good idea. The display will probably take a couple of days, since I've got to remove everything, pack it, move the display itself, and reset it."
A long project like that would be much better suited for a day where they were able to start much earlier in the morning. To start it that afternoon would mean cutting into their meal, and potentially, their dessert.
