honestly scary how “i dont want to have sex but ill do it to please my partner” is normalized as like a healthy valid even cute thing. like consensual doesnt intrinsically mean healthy. both people involved can have the absolute best intentions but if one person is just going thru the motions or doing it to please their partner that is REALLY bad and unhealthy.

last year when i was teaching 11th grade one of my fav students came in crying so i put the class on a filler activity and we just talked. they were doing ICE raids in the city and she was worried her parents wouldnt be there when she got home. then she was worried that ICE may come to the school and take her. we looked the laws up together and printed it out so she could carry the papers with her. 

it is illegal for ICE to raid a school and take children. ILLEGAL. i told my student (and eventually the class in like a blanket statement because i had quite a few undocumented students) that if anyone did come i would put my body between ICE and my students and really struggle. honestly my heart broke so much that day - take care of undocumented people in your life because they deserve so much better than this ffs. this woman is so very evil and has a black heart and i hope she rots in prison

You know the law. No mortal can enter the underworld and leave again. Not since that whole incident a couple millennia ago.” Persephone just stares daggers back at her husband and replies, her voice lowly ringing with power, “You made this mess, I have to fix it. Mr. Hagrid here clearly loves Cerberus as much as we do. He gets a pass to visit our furbabies and that is final.” And right then and there, Persephone writes Hagrid a pass to visit the Underworld anytime on a piece of parchment with a quill and when she is done, Hades reluctantly cosigns it and then they both seal it. And that’s the story of how Hagrid got a free lifetime pass to come and go from the Underworld in order to visit the gigantic three headed hell beast of a “puppy” Fluffy/Cerberus who had been his pet for one year, issued signed and sealed by the Queen of the Underworld herself and reluctantly co-signed by Hades, King and Lord of the Underworld.

It always kind of concerned with that Fluffy’s previous owner was just described as “a Greek chap who kept his hood on” during the whole so, yeah, I elaborated on the comic a bit more, because as much as Hades is the King and Ruler of the Underworld, if wifey doesn’t approve, he knows he’s in trouble. And when his Wifey is mad, it is not good. She is truly his Queen and the real boss. And yeah, I felt like Hagrid would miss Fluffy so much if Persephone and Hades just took him back to the Underworld, so he gets a lifetime vistiors’ pass to the Underworld so he can visit the hellhound he loves. And slowly he collects other Underworld residing “pets” that look forward to his visits, and Persephone is just like “ How are you not terrified of them, Mr. Hagrid? Any other mortal would be.” “I just don’t see them as monsters, is all, Queen Persephone.” And eventually Hades warms to Hagrid just the smallest bit.

And when Hagrid eventually does die (*gross sobbing*), Persephone comes to him in the afterlife and offers him a job. The job of Underworld gamekeeper. And he, of course accepts. To which end, he is, after a furious debate with Zeus and the other Olympians, granted immortality and the position of a minor god, his specific domain is that of Underworld beasts.

It’s not everytime they cry it’s only if they get injured and you’re unsure if it’s serious because they are screaming but you can’t tell if they are overreacting or not

For things that are clearly a minor bump we give kisses instead

My kid fell off their bike and skinned their knee. Just skinned it that’s all and they went into full on scream/crying hysterical because it was bleeding and they hadn’t had an injury where they bled within their memory

It wasn’t so much the pain as the blood that made them hysterical.

In that case we could see it wasn’t serious but the chocolate helped them calm down and then I got them to tell me about Terraria until they were calm and their wound was dressed

Signal Boost: Never join a Christian organization on campus called “Chi Alpha  (XA)”

Yesterday, I was turned away from an on campus ministry which I had been a part of for almost 2 years that prides itself in “never turning anyone away.” It happened under the radar, and their primary reason was because I had PTSD. They went on to accuse me of trying to use them as my therapists, even though at the time I attended their ministry, I was already in intensive outpatient therapy. What they’ve done is unforgivable. 

Additionally, I actually learned recently that this organization, which has locations in thousands of colleges across America and the world, actually harassed members of the lgbtq community on a different campus. I did some more research, found several dozen accounts of such behavior, and also evidence to suggest that this organization may be a cult. I am absolutely astounded and I feel 10000% violated. The way this organization presents itself is nothing like the personal experiences people have written accounts of, which is not only manipulative, but it’s flat out lying.

On top of that, they tried to lock me out of all my social media, including Tumblr, because they thought that I was a sex addict, since I believed that it was healthy to masturbate on your own. They actually told me that I was no better than an alcoholic or a drug addict, and tried to force me to suppress my sex drive to the point that I got dangerously ill. I was in a bad place at the time, so I didn’t recognize the red flags, but now I see that this is blatantly wrong behavior.

NEVER go to a Chi Alpha ministry on campus. Please. Not only are they dangerous, but personally, I believe they are demonic.

Update: I learned someone on the executive counsel of Chi Alpha this year at my school is homophobic. That person shared a testimony of how they found out “being gay is a sin” and “became straight,” and now they “witness to others” convincing other gay people that they’re sinning and they’re not actually gay. Let’s stop this madness before more lgbtq people are affected.

Update #2: Guys please help me signal boost this. Every reblog helps. I just learned that half the leadership for this organization this year are people that transferred from UTSA. UTSA is the campus on which Chi Alpha harassed LGBTQ people and other Christians, as stated in the article I screenshotted up above, which was published in the official campus paper. Chi Alpha has to be stopped, before they continue to abuse people who struggle from mental health issues, LGBTQ people, and Christians who choose not to be a part of their organization. Let’s put an end to this once and for all.
