[ ] ~ —Alibaba, wake up. ALIBABA HURRY. There’s something you have to see. ❞ The fanalis urgently exclaimed, but only loud enough for ‘Baba to hear. ( Since she didn’t want to wake up their blue-haired companion ) ❝ Alibaba, please! ❞ She crawled up closer, tugging his right arm as gently as possible.

▮ ₪┆“...What’s the matter, Morgiana?” came a mumbled reply as Alibaba rolled over, a sleepy hand lifting to rubbed sleepily at one of his eyes. It definitely wasn’t like Morgiana to be so suddenly persistent, but still. “Can’t it wait ‘til morning?”

Her cheeks flushed brightly at his words. She could easily stand up to Judal with all his perverted comments but something about Alibaba’s words just made her falter for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest as she felt her stomach flutter. Kougyoku wasn’t use to sweet comments like his and her cheeks burned even brightly.

The red head felt shy all of a sudden, her gaze shifting slightly to the side but she peered up at him from under her lashes, “You’re much too sweet, Alibaba. Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve this type of affection.”

▮ ₪┆ “What are you talking about, Kougyoku. You didn’t do anything to ‘deserve’ this.” he piped up, shooting the princess a genuine smile even as she glanced away, “Just being you was enough.”

Honestly, how could she even be second guessing herself over something like that? Sure, Alibaba was still hesitant himself and he never would’ve guess that their relationship would’ve intertwined as much as it’d seemed to, either; but Kougyoku had grown into a strong, independent Empress fit for ruling all of Kou herself. She was amazing! And there wasn’t a piece of her that Alibaba didn’t think didn’t deserve the affection he’d decided to give her.

She’d been about to comment further on the changes when his pause broke into words she’d expected, but still made her cringe and cover an ear. Gods, if he shrieked any louder, the fish in the south seas would all keel over and start floating! Was it really so hard to believe that the great King Sinbad, ladykiller of the seven seas and outspoken against marriage would- Ah, she’d just answered herself.
“I did,” she replied after a moment, rubbing her ear. Pretty sure her eardrum just popped… Shifting her hand, she showed him the ring on her finger. “I did… Sin’s taken such wonderful care of me, Ali. From the day we met, he’s been nothing but sweet and kind- He saw me fed, clothed, and gave me a place to stay. Made me a citizen and helped me find a purpose- And we fell in love during it all. I married Sin.”
Sera reached out to clasp his shoulders, smile returning to her lips though a look of concern flooded the rest of her expression. She hadn’t broken him, had she? It was no secret Sin was his mentor; she’d talked to him about Alibaba quite a bit, heard how he’d trained and the help that’d been provided in Balbadd so long ago. But she hasn’t meant to break him just by telling him what she’d been up to! Especially not since he’d come so far to Sindria-! “Ali, are you okay? You look a little pale- Should we go up to the palace and get you something to drink?”

▮ ₪┆ “...H-Huh?” She couldn’t much blame him for his shrieking, could she? Knowing that someone like King Sinbad had finally decided to marrying himself off to someone like Sera was bound to shock anyone who’d been away from the island nation as long as he had—even if Alibaba was being a little over dramatic about the announcement.

But still! Sinbad and Sera!? If the woman wouldn’t have been right in front of him flashing her ring as proof, he wouldn’t have believed it!

image

“Y-Yeah, but...!” he stuttered a moment after Sera had taken his shoulders, “Are you sure we’re still talking about the same ‘King Sinbad’ here!? ‘Cause the one I know wouldn’t...”

A flurry of mixed feelings on matter, that was state of Alibaba’s mind at the moment. Maybe shuffling him off to the palace for a drink wouldn’t have been such a bad idea on the others’ part, even if he wasn’t much of drinker himself.

This place was not any place she recognized. The people were wearing all strange clothing, she then looked down at her own clothing. Chii was wearing a simple dress however it did not seem to fit or look anything like what these people were wearing. “Chii….” It was confusing, new and she wondered what to do. Maybe ask someone where to get clothes like them? Spotting the nearest person close to her she tugged lightly on their sleeve. “Excuse me mister, Chii wants to know where to get clothes like yours.”

▮ ₪┆“—Huh?” The light tug to the back of his shirt was just enough to break Alibaba’s attention away from the basket of apples he’d been shifting through, eyes falling on the girl just behind him. That was definitely something he’d never expected to hear. A kid like her actually asking about his old, worn out clothes?

image

“I guess...you can just try to find a merchant here who’s selling some here? There’s gotta be a cart around here somewhere with them, right?” he paused, lifting a hand to scratch at one cheek, “But, why’dya want clothes like mine anyway?”

Despite him being hesitate, Kougyoku was patient with him. She softly bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing at his expression. It was adorable and she wanted to keep the memory of his expression within her memory till the day she passed.

“Yes, like honey. I love honey! It’s so sweet and delicious, despite it being so sticky.”
Her thumbs were brushing against his cheeks softly, pink eyes gazing into his own amber ones with a tender, loving gaze. Yet they held a spark of mischievous. Alibaba was too adorable for his own good. Kougyoku wanted to play with him some more, see how much she could make him fluster and squirm yet she wanted him to take command and to take control, like she had seen him do before. But she knew how awkward the poor guy was.

▮ ₪┆ Honey wasn’t just delicious; it was warm and inviting, too—and Alibaba’s gaze seemed to shift to be just that as as he leaned forward to push his forehead against Kougyoku’s again. He might’ve missed out on that mischievous smirk she’d added, but he knew a compliment when he’d heard one and that’d earn her some more affection as arms fell to wrap around Kougyoku’s middle again.

“Kinda like you are, too, huh?”

If Kougyoku would’ve voiced those opinions out loud, she would’ve been right. He was too adorable and naive for his own good something; but given just the right circumstances, Alibaba could be quite the sweetheart; and he’d give her a taste of that with the loving gaze he’d let mix with her own now, too.

Much better- This was the reaction she’d expected! Laughing, Sera spun in a small, tight, and slow circle, showing off the silk dress and far healthier figure. It was hard not to have changed; she’d been so pampered and spoiled in Sindria that staying the same underweight, poor girl with the torn dresses was impossible… Especially when she had a certain someone determined to see her spoiled, the big dork. “One in the same!”
A wide smile pulled at her lips once she stopped, and she reached out to gently push his finger down. As much as she loved him, she also knew telling him what’d happened since Balbadd would stun him senseless, and she didn’t want to risk him poking someone’s eye out. “I’m so sorry I didn’t leave a message before I left, but… There was no time,” she started, regret clear in her eyes with the confession. That was one thing that’d bothered her for years, never saying goodbye…
“I moved on to Sindria.” Her smile returned full-force, almost like she was happiest about that fact. Then again, how could she not be? Traveling to Sindria had brought her to her home, the one place she truly belonged. “Sin gave me citizenship once.. Once I realized it’s home, Ali. Sin and Sindria’s where I belong. You wouldn’t believe how wonderful it’s been!”
Right, she hadn’t told him what she meant by Sin, though she was sure he already knew. Finally pulling her hand away from his, the golden ring on her finger glinted in the light, and her smile both widened and softened. “By Sin I mean King Sinbad… My husband."

▮ ₪┆ Even with what little Sera had told him, Alibaba was already having a hard time coming to terms that this woman was still the same he’d met back in Balbadd a few years back. Well kept clothes and a healthy weight; she didn’t look anything like the scrawny, errand running street girl he could remembered from then! Still, he let Sera push his finger down from its point; blinking back a couple times for good measure before letting a light smile through.

“Guess that explains your new outfit, huh? You look so different, I didn’t even recognize you! You’ve really changed a lot!” Then again, with everything he’d been through in the past few years, he could probably say the same for anyone. But before Alibaba could mention that, something Sera had said next made him pause “...uh?”

H-Hold on just a minute, she’d done what!?

“Wait a sec—’your husband’!? You mean YOU actually MARRIED King Sinbad!?”
