*pretend I'm Squidward*

You're disgusting

I really find that to be a matter of opinion, Squiddy. And of course, some opinions are wrong. 😌✨ You don’t need to be envious because I can grow a faultless unibrow, unlike yourself.~

A Passionate Defense of Squilliam Fancyson III

Squilliam Fancyson is often accused of being a "one-dimensional" character that allegedly "hates Squidward for no reason". Though it is TRUE he shows animosity towards his high school bandmate, we lack the reason WHY. A majority of Squidward's issues stem from his narcissism, disagreeable attitude, and karma biting him in the rear. When Squilliam is shown around those who AREN'T Squidward Q. Tentacles, his attitude is vastly different. In the episode "Squilliam Returns", he is blown away by SpongeBob's waiting skills at the restaurant. In an optimistic tone, he says. "I must say, Squidward. What really won me over is your brilliant waiter. I MUST know your name." Confused, the sea sponge doesn't reply properly. "My name?" he inquires, with a puzzled look on his face. Instead of getting angry, Squilliam reassuringly taps him on the shoulder and repeats, "Yes, your name, son." Once again, SpongeBob doesn't reply properly. Instead of being angry, irritated, or rude, Squilliam waits patiently while SpongeBob ponders the answer. It's only when SpongeBob splashes water in Squilliam's face that he gets upset - yet he STILL doesn't even say anything. Earlier on in the episode, we see Squilliam VOLUNTARILY offer a crowd of at least twenty (if not more) sea creatures dinner, "his treat". And this is a repeat pattern for Mr. Fancyson. In one of the official comics, at the end, he offers both SpongeBob and Patrick free "white chocolate truffles" on Halloween. Squilliam also teaches a music class. In "Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful", he states that he cleaned the whole town in a week's worth of time. Even if that is an exaggeration, why would someone wealthy and famous willingly dedicate their time and effort to something like that instead of their own hobbies? In a comic issue, "The Eternal Struggle", when Squilliam is impressed by the performance, he gives credit where credit is due. Instead of witnessing the act with a snobby attitude, he says something akin to: "It was a PRIVILEGE to bear witness to your great work." In the same story, during the performance itself, he spilled out a great deal of passion and emotion as he observed. "The commentary is bold...riveting. Touching on the works of Plooseau. But STALKING me with a raw, animalistic energy. The INTENSITY is palpable. Such POWER! Destroying the self--tearing away the false faces that we present to society. I see the truth, and I weep. I weep for us all!" As he is also shown crying here, in a public auditorium, it indicates he is in touch with his emotions. In House Fancy, Squilliam is very kind (and flirty) towards the TV show host, Nicholas Withers. "What a lovely façade you have, Mr. Fancyson," says the host. "And your house doesn't look too bad, either." After this, Squilliam provocatively touches Nick's chest and laughs giddily as he answers, "Oh, Nicky~." Later on, Squilliam allows Nick to touch one of his many gilded doorknobs upon request with little hesitation. When Squilliam is on the phone, Nick insists he "get back to the show". What does the cephalopod say? "Oh, I'm dreadfully sorry, Nicky, dear," and complies. The ONE area I will say Squilliam is wrong is how he sometimes favors high-class folks over the supposed "peasants". Long story short- Squilliam is very disrespectful towards Squidward, yes. But overall, he is NOT a jerk towards everyone else.
