Cats and dogs deserve way more credit than humans give them. While they have to endure their owners constantly talking, arguing, crying, singing, etc.with no breaks from it, humans will do whatever it takes to get their cat or dog to be quiet after just a few barks or meows.

The police have found a large number of dead crows on the 101 just north of Ventura early this morning, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone’s relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colors of paints appeared on the bird’s beaks and claws. By analyzing these paint residues it was found that 980 of the crows had been impacted by motorcycles, while only20 were impacted by cars. The investigators then hired an Ornithological Behaviorist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviorist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout “Cah”, not a single one could shout “bike”

… on a unit that was in desperate need of an overhaul. My manager was fired and they promoted me the same afternoon. I had been a nurse for 2 years at this point and knew exactly enough to do nothing.
Worked for a hospital that was going through a “culture” change. They brought in a management group to help them get in better financial shape and what was their first recommendation? Cut nursing staff and pay. Within 90 days we lost 10% of our nurses. We were struggling to legally and safely take care of patients.
Meanwhile, the management team and the senior management went on a 2 week trip to the Caribbean all paid for by the hospital. Flights, food, rooms, alcohol….all of it. I came into work that next morning after discovering that and saw an email saying the 4 nursing jobs I needed filled were denied due to budget costs.

People really have no concept for how much it takes for hand-made products, do they? The stuff at the stores are made in a massive factory made to pump out stuff cheap and fast. They can “afford” to sell it for so cheap because they put very little overall effort and time into the making of the item. People making stuff by hand? That is a lot of time which they could have spent at a job that pays a regular wage. Plus about 7/10 times the handmade stuff lasts longer than the bulk stuff since there is much more care in its construction, rather than the factory which stresses the daylights out of the material. Folks who want commissioned stuff for cheap are ignorant or straight up belligerent, like that guy above.
