I love fishing in video games, but I think Dark Cloud 2 (or Dark Chronicle) has my favorite implementation.

Mostly cuz it was sit and wait for the controller to vibrate and I could read while I waited, but then it would buzz and it was fun and slightly complicated, and very rewarding.

Fishing is nice that way.

And in video games you don’t have to worry about what to do with the fish afterwards.

Okay, this is crazy; you’re the first person in any of my tags/comments to mention Dark Cloud 2, and it reminded me I had this part in the original version of this comic. I took it out because it was kinda rushed and didn’t really match the flow, but thought I’d share it here since you mentioned it!

#i originally made this comic for an assignment and had to reach a target page count lol…. it’s obvious once you see the whole thing#It got a rough crit so I felt weird about sharing it for a while#but Im really glad so many people are enjoying it and sharing their vg fishing experiences!!#at its core it’s a self indulgent comic I used as an excuse to draw video games :)
