Just a reminder, I had to delete the tumblr app because my phone kept threatening to auto-delete my cached music app that has a lot of songs I haven't heard since the 80s in Japan and have no other way of hearing ever again because they repeatedly get taken down online and aren't sold in the US in any way, shape, or form. But if anyone needs to talk, @ me in a post, and I'll figure something out.

Apparently, one of the words for gentrification (a new problem, so all words are new) in my mother tongue, is 階級浄化, which means "class-based cleansing" I love my native language. In America, because everything becomes a way to enforce racism (look at the hate against disco, a predominantly Black-created genre in America, vs rock, which had already been whitewashed), I would probably make it 階級・人種浄化 (class, ethnic-based cleansing) but that is the best thing I've heard all week. Don't forget, people who are wearing our native tongues like costumes and posit themselves as better than us for knowing one word of the mother tongues we get beaten, all the way up to arrested or taken from our families, for speaking are practicing 階級人種浄化of our native languages, and anyone that ties being queer to being white is doing it to queerness. I would not be surprised if we got that word from China, because we kind of stole their writing system to begin with, but if you speak a language not associated with white people, from Spanish to Hebrew to Thai, reblog with the name of your language and what it is. Go find out if you don't know! My language is Japanese.

I just lost a young person I was taking care of because street justice against white supremacists, in her mind, is "racist to white supremacists." I will say, one of the things I was trying to do was discourage her drug and alcohol dependencies, because I used to have a drug problem some 16+ years ago, myself. (Lasted 6 years, ruined my life) She really needs a good parent, who can teach her basic life skills, how to cope without using, how to drink moderately and safely, and also someone who can set her straight on what racism is (like calling her Japanese step-granddad the N word because he's Southern Japanese and darker skinned) and isn't (shows about non-white families written by people of that ethnic group, making racists afraid) I'm pretty sad, because I saw her like a daughter. I was actually in shell shock until I went to a Japanese shopping and dining area, and got to have some nice, reaffirming interactions in my mother tongue (including with an adorable family--a mother, a 1.5 y.o. girl and 3 y.o. boy who sat next to me and my partner [who I explain to people I probably won't end up close to as 「この人は俺の旦那だ。日本語がわからないء」、so, as my husband]) I'll also say, this person is the average age of the people reading this blog. And she also claims exclusive control over what people can and can't do in the building. She is very abusive, as she revealed last night. You have some messed up people in your cohort. @ me in a post if you're dealing with someone similar. And just remember, history probably won't record any of us, but those of us who feed the homeless out of our own pocket/kitchen, stand against Nazis, and try our best to foster good will in our oppressed communities, can someday tell our children or the children in our lives heroic stories about how we were on the right side of history. How we acted and stood for a just, loving, free country and world against the people who lock children in cages, the people who shun the hungry, tired, and poor. So, I put this there since many readers of this blog are her age, and likely you have had to contend with similar people. But we can be proud. And I'm healed, but I highly doubt no-one else has someone like this. So we can talk if anyone needs to. Just @ me.

Whenever your nearest white Boomer gets cocky about supposedly paving the way for America to move forward, remember (or remind them you know) that the Baby Boom was after the war, when the soldiers returned, so it started in '46. The Boom tanked in '65, the start of X. The Civil Rights Act was passed in '64. '55 is right in the centre of the Boom , so your average (median) Boomer was about NINE YEARS OLD when it passed. Malcolm X, Yuri Kochiyama, and Martin Luther King, Jr were all Silent Generation. To be Silent Generation in '64, all you had to do was be over 19. So, it was largely the actions of the Silent Generation ('25-'45) (Be aware a lot of people might have estimates that differ one to two year, although for Boomer, that makes no sense, as the Baby Boom was a measurable statistical event)

Other queer Asian-Americans, want some pro-queer MODERN Asian media? Go check out the band Mayday (五月天) (Taiwan) A rock band active since the late 90s, some of their lyrics are about queer rights. The three-part live-action serie My Little Brother's Husband (弟の夫)(Japan) is okay, but we never get to spend time with the queer Asian character, the plot kicks in when his white husband from Canada (played by a sumo wrestler) comes to visit his straight brother after the gay brother dies. While anyone of Japanese descent is taught to hate ourselves, and Japanese-Americans do have the highest marry-out rate of any demograph whatsoever because of this, the serie can still come off as reinforcing whitewashing of queerness simply BECAUSE there is no active gay Asian character, and our only active gay character is white, even though it was written by an older gay Japanese man. If any other Asian-Americans have recommendations for modern queer Asian media, tack it on here! Gay fetish porn for straights is not pro-queer, so don't even try that!

Watching the news after four months of study in the language of the programme. I came up with: "Pair of Thieves Steal 150,000 ATMs" "Popular Basketball Player Uses Friend in Secret Friend Mirror" "Eight Refugee Corporations Spend New Year's Eve on 52-Metre High Bridge Support Beam" None of this was about Florida, by the way. But I understood when the word "music" came up! Never feel bad about not understanding a language with four months of study. It takes about ten years of dedicated work to learn one. (More if it's English)

It even has categories all the way to historical price indexes for DOUGHNUTS. So, if you need to prove why you're employed, 20, and can't afford to live on your own like I or your parents could, here you go. Beware, use the city ones for rent, because the rent one considers small Wisconsin towns alongside Brooklyn, so it won't give as good a picture if you live in a major city.

A Phone Call to Stop ICE

But if your parents still buy from Delta, I suggest having a talk with them) In other news, people from Vietnam who came here before the establishment of US-Vietnam relations, like the thousands who fled because America was killing them to support colonist buddy France, are also up for deportation. The gov't also asked people to sponsor the babies and children they're interning at the border, passed a secret law, and are now arresting all the people who tried to save children from cages. My partner (I have a good one now) suggested Trump be drawn and quartered, an old punishment from monarchical Europe. I'm not kidding, I'd pay to go see it. The whole family should be done it to. In other news, his wife is upset people they hire to make stuff or something make money off her when whites have been making money off our backs while costuming in our skin for centuries and continue to do so. That's your update for now.

My partner helped me put the door back on because I was mentally unable to remember what to do (I used to work construction, but was panicked) If this is a work of a random Nazi, this is what gentrification does. Same was done in Oakland, which is why I left. If this is the work of one of the people harassing me here, this is why I've put the word out here, so THEY can be found and see how it feels to be under attack. Thanks for asking after me. It means a lot. In general, to all, either way, this is what the actual definition of terrorism is--criminal/violent acts committed with the true intent of causing fear in the victim. Another similar example is the KKK throwing burning crosses in lawns of people of colour. That's terrorism, not "any crime if committed by a West Asian."

Nazi Watch Update

Last week, Nazis broke down my door, possibly purely because I had a sign "immigrants and all religions welcome," which was torn off by the person who kicked my door down, or possibly I was doxxed somewhere online by the people who were harassing me on here, who were targeting me because of my race and also my activism (e.g., I hinted about this group I was trying to start to counter trump and protect people, and they called me names for it) I'm thinking about compiling a list of people who harassed me on here, then trying to find someone tech savvy over in Compton with the connections I have up there. It's obvious it was either a Nazi or personal attack, and no-one in the neighbourhood would do that to me unless a Nazi in the meth house kitty-corner somehow got into the building, and if it was anyone I passed out flyers to for the anti-trump group, I stopped because no-one wants to follow an Asian and have just been doing what I can myself as far as helping other targeted people in my area stay safe. So that would have happened Spring this year at latest if it was retribution for that. Lastly, if anyone sees or hears anything about someone having attacked someone's apartment door in California on 12 Oct 2018, please let me know.

Racism Is Systemic Abuse

Racism is one or more demographs abusing one or more other demographs.

Racism:.

-Makes a caricature of the abused, or only allows the abused the lone trait of their "other"ness, caracaturises that, then makes the abused evil for being that.

-Demands the abused develop low self esteem and both admire the abuser(s) and need the abuser(s)' approval..

-Rewrites the history of the abused, gaslighting the abused into believing they did or didn't do whatever the abuser(s) said, then making them feel bad for that in many cases.

-Makes the abused believe they truly deserve to put up with racism, and vilifies them for speaking out against it.

-Turns abused demographs on each other (think: like siblings under abusive parents).

-Singles out a demograph for a certain kind of mistreatment to give the abuser power over the abused (the Asian rape fetish is probably the easiest one to see this in in modern form, but they all do).

Racism is mass societal abuse. Whenever anyone treats you with racism, they are abusing you.

Fake Allies and Disturbing Trends

I touched on something on the last post I want to elaborate on. Oppressed groups it's popular and trendy to recognise and pretend to support, and what's really going on. So, when Trump got in, I tried to start something in my city. A group that would feed people cut off food stamps, a group that would help fill the needs of those further marginalised, up to and including PEOPLE WHO WOULD BE WILLING AND READY TO HIDE HUNTED PEOPLE IN THEIR HOMES IF NECESSARY. (I.e., West Asians, Jewish, Latinos) I papered half the town with this, asking tonnes of people whose citizenship was secure, as is mine, to join. No one did. (A note: I was paranoid about posting this online because if I were hiding people, the last thing I'd need is me being recorded saying I would. I'm only posting now since it never happened) But isn't it at least popular to battle Islamophobia, even if Jewish and Hispanic people are treated a lot like Asians? No. It's popular to PRETEND you support certain recognised groups just enough so you can have bragging rights. It's like being a preachy vegan, (empahasis on "preachy," not "vegan." I don't care what you eat or don't eat unless I'm feeding you) I call it The Phariseean Mentality because there was a group like this in the Bible. Before I called it "The Berkeley Church Lady" because older women involved in church social groups on Holy Hill in Berkeley were prone enough to it that running shelters, if you made asking for donations there high-profile, you were sure to get a good amount, but they were also the first to complain about homeless being visibly homeless in front of them. Those of you who are in a trendy to support group that does NOT include white people especially may notice that a lot of the so-called support may be primitivising, infantilising, or otherwise demeaning. Race regardless, queer people might notice those alledged allies who can't stop talking about what a good ally they are and try to erace asexuals by using the "A" in the long abbreviations for themselves. Which anyone with a working brain cell can already see that's not supportive. Now there ARE, of course, real allies. I have two who I consider very good friends of mine. This isn't about people like them. The people in my city didn't want to take part in my group because the work I was trying to get done was the REAL work. It wasn't photo opportunities. The hiding people part actually necessitates secrecy--the opposite of bragging. (I couldn't ask my friends mentioned above because they live several hours away, and my close and trusted friend here has a green card, so I didn't even mention it to him because I didn't want anything bad to happen to him. He also had flatmates) These type of supposed allies are a really dangerous wild card if you let them close. Be careful out there.

How Society Gaslights Asians Into Accepting Racism

So there's the "all Asians are wacky, freaky sex toys that only exist to serve Westerners/real Americans/real people." Then there's "the effeminate, sexless Asian male." And finally, the "Asian housegirl/houseboy" (domestic servant, that it's okay, good, and even empowering to make an Asian around you your servant) Standing up against this was why I lost my career in social work. Add the complete denial that some of us are American, the INTENTIONAL erasure of us in history, the sheer degree of punishment we get for saying we're people. I lost a career for saying my Asian clients were people. And no-one did anything/would help me because left and right alike are disgusting racists who deserve to be beaten. And here are some of the classic arguments and some new ones used to gaslight us into complicity: (After eracing all Asian Ameticans from history): "It's not like your people to fight anything." "This one guy who never left Japan doesn't see the problem" (He doesn't UNDERSTAND. You never do until you've been here a while) "I have a Chinese friend who says it's okay" (The sudden minority friend is a classic) "It's sexist/etc., to call me racist, ching-chong!"* "My saying I want to rape you is good because I'm a woman!"* "It's racist against my race to call me racist, ching-chong!"* "My race can't be racist, ching-chong!"* The newest one: "saying Asians face racism diminishes the struggle of real people." (The argument here is we're not real people) Really, anyone who argues any of those deserves to be shot. But be aware, this is gaslighting. This is abuse. These are things abusers say. Someone who says any of these is a horrible person. You are not wrong for saying you're a person. We ARE people. Some of us are also American. Those who deny that are no different from those who want to deny the recently recategorised race of Middle Easterners citizenship. The law that said those of Asian blood couldn't be citizens was struck down in '65. Oh, and anyone who upholds Internment. Let's say they're white. Tell them how we should intern all white people including babies because you never know who's a sleeper agent for Russia. Tell them it's unfortunate, but really needs to be done for the good of the country. * The popular thought is that RECOGNISED/ACKNOWLEDGED oppressed castes are 100% pure snowflakes and can do no wrong. And that it's empowering and good when they join in the oppression of less popular/eraced castes. You can also see this in biphobia/aphobia/transphobia among cisgender homosexuals. That's what those arguments are based on. A thought there: it's really fucking disgusting how one oppressed person who knows well what's being said and done to them and fights it can turn around and gleefully do what they fight being done to them to someone in a different caste. Then on top of it, to gaslight them about it.

What Is Diversity?

There's a lot of "confusion" (willful ignorance) on part of people in any sort of influential position in America, and certainly other countries, on what diversity actually is. It's almost certainly intentional, because the rich know it well. The word "diversity" is also used in investing: a daily word on Wall Street. I will explain it in that context, and you will see what it means in an ethnoracial context. Let's pretend I'm not exponentially below the poverty level. If I had money to invest in stocks, the list of all of my investments would be called a portfolio. It is considered best to have a diverse portfolio rather than put all your money into one industry. A portfolio which contains all health insurance companies is the exact opposite of diverse. A portfolio of health insurance companies and candy makers is still not diverse. That's only two of the myriad of types of company. That's a STEP in the right direction, but it's not where you stop. Adding to that portfolio of health insurers not JUST candy companies, but other types of company as well, say, taxi companies AND media corporations AND chain restaurants AND clothing companies AND auto manufacturers AND telecom providers--THAT is diverse. That's diversifying your portfolio. Diversity is including as many types of whatever as possible.
