What is Merlin Bingo?

Merlin Bingo is a low-pressure, fun Merlin fest for writers, artists, podficers, gif-makers, crafts people or anyone else who wants to create something for the Merlin fandom.

Sign up to get a personalised and individually-tailored bingo card of prompts. Fill one square to get a participation badge, or more to get a bingo badge or blackout badge. You can also earn bonus badges each month. Do as many or few fills as you want. Cross-posting with other fests is welcome (if the other fest allows). This round runs to 30th November 2024.

Give us your whumpiest of whumps, your most broken of hearts! Grief and torture and Uther Pendragon's A+ Parenting! Make us cry as your characters suffer!

Not so good with the big sad things? No worries, we're equally good with stubbed toes and paper cuts!

More of a hurt/comfort person? Give us all of the above with a fluffy ending! Kissed bruises, bandaged cuts, holding hands and healing hugs! Make those broken hearts better!

Kinksters, we see and love you too! Have you considered doctor/patient roleplay? Or if that's too vanilla for you, painplay and/or aftercare will win you the bonus badge too!

Spring time means...flowers? And boys in love, apparently. I usually don't like drawing flowers, but digital vs. traditional is super different, so I might have to reconsider since it was actually nice?!! I guess it depends what kind of flower you draw, and thankfully carnations are on the easier side and floofy. You can also view This Heart of Mine on AO3. This piece was drawn for @merlintarotfest using The Citadel Oracle Deck for a card reading of The Shepherd (celebration and/or family), The Thief (seizing the moment and/or selfishness), and The Acolyte: (new projects and/or learning). Also fills a @merlinbingo artist square using the hex color #4FB477 (aka a really gorgeous and nice green for the spring!).

And okay, I guess my inspo really wanted to see soft boys having a stolen moment of love. I'm going to assume Arthur and Merlin don't have a lot of time to take a breather to express their feelings for each other openly, so in this moment, that's what they get. That's totally what they deserve too, right? More love and hugs and Nice Things. I actually like how this piece came out, considering that this derived from a WIP I ended up scrapping, but what totally influenced my colour palette. Sometimes, going with the flow can make some magical things happen. Anyway, happy April, and if it's nice where you are, go enjoy the outdoors!

And another month goes by!

In March, we received 45 fantastic fills from 23 wonderful participants, 36 of which will be listed below the cut! We've got 27 fics, four artworks, three fic + artwork combos, one fic + moodboard combo, and one lovely gif!

Since peach is still pretending people are interested in the stats part of the monthly round up, she's going to prattle on a little longer about ships. Gen/no ships came out top again this month with 16 works, while Merlin/Arthur came in second with 14. Merlin/Gwaine is third with two fills, and then we've got Gwen/Morgana, Merlin/Will and Lancelot/Will all with one.

(Another fun stat for you - there are only six works for Lancelot/Will on ao3, and a third of them are bingo fills!)

Now, finally, the bit you all care about: the fills themselves! Remember to check the warnings and ratings, practice self-care when clicking on those links, and leave so much love for the fabulous people who've created them!
