🍌 : is my muse inclined to help others, or will they only do it when it benefits them, if at all? what makes them this way? has it ever gotten them into trouble, or inconvenienced them?

I think Leonie is a pretty selfless person, more than she actually realizes. I believe Leonie has a mental list - a ranking - of people she would help, like most other people I would say. At the top would be her friends and family along with anyone else she cared about. Following that would be those who are unable to protect themselves; those who are deemed vulnerable like the elderly or children. After that would be regular common folk, nobles, and then at the bottom rude people. But even with this list I think she’s still the type to go out of the way to help someone in need. I don’t think any help she offers is done for her own benefit. She often mentions how she’s becoming a mercenary to help those in need, to help the children back in her village. She also willingly goes out to fight an ancient beast to get a weapon, despite being a commoner and being crestless, in order to be more useful during the war. I see little benefit in putting oneself in danger or training for practically one’s whole life for the sake of being able to help another person, but maybe that’s just me.

A lot of the help she offers is often done at the cost of her own health or safety. I think, more often than not, she takes on more than she can handle and injures herself in the process. I think this is why she equates helping others also as a form of training; to be injured/tired while doing a simple task is something to be frowned upon. In her eyes she should be strong enough to help just about anybody. The strong help the weak so to say. So even though she is a helpful person by nature, because she just thinks of it as training and for her own benefit, she thinks she’s not truly ‘helping’ somebody.

I think it’s mostly Leonie’s nature that makes her a helpful person, but I would say seeing the people around her in the village while growing up helped to solidify this idea. Being from such a small village where resources are often tight, I would think that everyone would help each other in some way or another whether that be offering food when resources are scarce, protecting each other, even just going out to hunt. I also believe her idea of the strong helping the weak comes from this - from what she’s seen it’s always been the strong people going out to do the tough work in benefit of the less strong people. This image is most prevalent in her dad and Jeralt especially. Since these two are her strongest role models it only makes sense that she tries to emulate them.

🍑 : how meticulously does my muse look after their physical appearance? do they spend a lot of time on their hair, makeup, grooming, and clothing? is there a particular reason why they do or don’t?

Avatar
Fruit HCs!

From Marianne and Leonie’s C Support: I was about to go buy towels and soap, but the girls saddled me with all these specific requests. They want it all to look cute, or to smell a certain way, but all that's just nonsense to me. I've always made my own towels out of old scraps, and soap from used cooking oil. I've never given it much thought beyond that.

Leonie doesn’t pay too much attention to her physical appearance - she sees it mostly as a waste of time that could have been spent on things she deemed to be more important; such as training. More often than not people will come across her with her hair unkempt; literally just rolled out of bed, gave it a quick brush or two and calling it a day. There’s a reason she keeps her hair cut short; it’s quick, easy, and low maintenance. She doesn’t have the time to spend taking care of her hair, never mind makeup and clothing. Any clothing she wears is out of her own comfort, not due to the influence of trends or fashion.

Another reason she keeps very simple is because she doesn’t feel she’s pretty or ‘feminine’ enough to really pay attention to her appearance. She also believes that people will take her more seriously if she has a simple appearance rather than a beautified one.

That isn’t to say she completely neglects her physical appearance altogether. She does pay close attention to her hygiene, taking care to bathe herself every day if she can. She likes being clean and looking clean; she couldn’t stand it if she stank of last night’s sweat.

Post time-skip Leonie pays much more attention to her appearance than when she was in the academy. Not to the extent of going the extra mile to look good like Hilda per se, but enough that she thinks she looks pretty good herself. With added confidence she’s more willing to try out more ‘feminine’ looks, especially when she starts to break the link between femininity and strength.

🥝 : does my muse have any ‘ unusual ’ habits, interests, and / or talents? do they hide it, or are they proud of it?

Avatar
Fruit HCs!

I wouldn’t say there’s anything about Leonie’s hobbies/habits that are particularly unusual. Other than how stingy she is with buying items and reusing things until they really are broken in the full sense of the word none of her habits are noteworthy of being labeled as strange.

Even then, her stinginess is to be expected when she has a mountain load of debt to pay off. I would attribute it to being like Fire Emblem’s version of student loans-she lives miserly in order to pay off the money she owes back to her village.

Even if Leonie had an ‘unusual’ talent she wouldn’t hide it per se. Rather, it’s more like she doesn’t have her cards openly placed on the table. While she wouldn’t go around flaunting her skills, she also wouldn’t deny it if someone asked her. Leonie isn’t the type to get embarrassed easily so she has no reason to hide or deny anything that someone thought to be unusual about her.

A Franzi in Jeralt’s Clothing || Leonie x Dimitri [mission board]

A small audience of students had gathered at Franzi’s office, much to the chagrin of the Crown Prince of Faerghus. When he had initially thought of the plan, he had hoped he would have been able to quietly find incriminating evidence again the impostor to reveal her as such. The students had seemed like they would have been the perfect distraction to allow Dimitri to begin searching, what with their constant gushing and Franzi’s very apparent revelry in such attention.
But, as fate would have it, the fake professor appeared to have different plans for them.
Go on now—both of you sweethearts, now—give the great Franzi Pans a punch! I can take both of you! At the same time even! Just like I did when I single-handedly—!”
Pardon?” The shock was clear as day across Dimitri’s features. Assaulting a professor—regardless of their qualifications (or lack thereof in this circumstance)—was a surefire way to end up on the business end of a Seteth-lecture. The prince opened his mouth to protest, but was cut off by the incessant jeers from the peanut gallery. (”It’s not polite to interrupt, but I’m feeling gracious today, so I’ll overlook it!” Franzi sighed melodramatically.) It seemed the more hot-tempered students thought the visiting professor’s idea was fantastic, a free peak at the gunshow, and kind of sad for the two losers about to get hit with the Franzi Pans Hands—!
That was quite enough. Azure eyes locked with Leonie’s. He nodded. Turning so that his left shoulder was facing faux professor, Dimitri pivoted his torso, allowing the torque to drive the power behind his punch. His fist connected, and the obstacle gave way.

The look of surprise across Leonie’s face mimicked the one featured on the Faerghus prince—both stunned at the suggestion the pseudo professor just made. Leonie couldn’t comprehend just what Franzi was trying to prove with this spectacle. That she could withstand a solid strike from the both of them? Or that two students would willingly attack a professor without the proper preparations?

Regardless of her motivations, Leonie couldn’t help but regard her in disbelief.

“What? There’s no way that either of us are—”

Before she could finish her sentence a couple of the students started to rally behind Franzi. Their incessant shouts and jabs began to struck a nerve in the ginger that she hadn’t felt in a while. As she was about to yell back out of annoyance her eyes locked with the prince’s, his nod a clear sign he had a plan of sorts. Leonie wasn’t quite sure what the meaning behind his nod was but after a few seconds the answer quickly became clear.

It took less than ten second for the prince’s fist to meet Franzi Pans’ torso. What shocked Leonie wasn’t the fact that Dimitri had gone through with her demands (though she had to admit it was a little bit unexpected) but rather how quickly Franzi doubled over and folded over his arm, quickly becoming lifeless as she hung like a ragdoll on his fist. The once lively and jovial atmosphere quickly turned quiet as mutters and whispers began to course through the crowd. With the understanding that she had to shoo everyone out of there Leonie quickly leapt into action.

“Ah- Ahahahaha! Oh, Franzi, you’re so funny! You don’t need to put on this kind of show for everyone! Hm? What was that? You’re tired? And you’d like everyone to leeeaaavee? I see! Well, that’s a disappointment but you heard the woman! EVERYBODY OUT!”

Roughly pushing student bodies out of the office, amidst complaints and grumbles, Leonie managed to clear the room and lock the door with a quiet click! behind her. Her acting may not have been phenomenal but it would have to do for now. She turned around to face Prince Dimitri again, her actor’s mask now removed and replaced with genuine concern.

“So... What now?”

♤ silent tunnel

Lorenz examined the scars on his hands some more and then looked back at Leonie with a soft, sad smile. Perhaps he’d executed his plan poorly, even if his magic being mostly sealed off was no fault of his own, but he’d done it out of survival, to try and save himself and others. He gave Eos’s hand a little squeeze.
If offered, he would suffer though it again to make sure his friends, these new children under their care, were safe. Happy. Free.
“Thank you. A rough lesson to learn, I suppose.” Lorenz wondered what the other team’s situation had looked like. “You all must have been brave and clever to get out of what you did. It’s thanks to you and the rest of our friends that I’m alive at all. When faced with something impossible, you did everything to rescue us. I may be in your debt, but more than that, I am grateful, impressed, and inspired by all of you.” His throat felt tight. He smiled again at Eos and her newly fluffed hair.
“I have little siblings, you know. I may not be the easiest oldest brother to get along with…” He laughed under his breath. “But between all of us, I’m certain Eos will be well cared for, and can forgive my fussing.”

She offered him a smile in return, tilting her head to look down at Eos once more.

“I’m... not the one you should be thanking.”

Her words were quiet, barely more than a whisper, as she thought about what she had done during their escape in the guard’s keep. She hadn’t found Lorenz and the others, she wasn’t able to find medicine to help Niles, she wasn’t the one to fight off the guards that continued to chase them. Hell, she had even lost Ilyana as they ran away from their captors! All she did was run in constant circles. There was nothing that she did that was helpful or convenient for the group. She couldn’t accept Lorenz’s gratitude, not when she had barely contributed to their release.

Still, despite the way she felt about her situation she continued to press on, swallowing the lump in her throat and forcing a smile to draw on her face. Now wasn’t the time to stop and mope about what she did and didn’t do. If anything it served as fuel to do better-to be better the next time something occurred. Vigilance was key and she refused to let anyone else get hurt again. Not under her watch.

“Hmm, I’m not sure about that.” She spoke with a faint lilt in light tease of the noble boy. “What do you think, Eos? Do you think you could forgive his fussing?”

She gave a light giggle before continuing on with the conversation.

“I never knew you had siblings, Lorenz. Though to be fair, we never really knew much about the Gloucester family despite being in the Gloucester county. What are they like?”

She’s kinder than him, that much was easy to tell. While he lectured first, helped second, she was already doing both while easing the panic in the man, eventually setting both rider and mount free. He stands by, a look of disapproval still there but at the very least, the commotion was done, accident avoided.
“…he was being careless. And so were the facilitators.” It made him worry for his own match should it come, but at the very least, he was made aware that he needed to be more attentive of those around him in this competition. He can’t count on help should it come to it.
He simply nods as the ginger mentions her plan afterwards. As for him, he’ll just return to the waiting area, watch more of the matches, and patiently wait for his own. He would have left it at that but she called him back. He’s not grinning – certainly not as bright as he did – but he does answer back with a wave. “Gerome.”
And with that, they part ways, with Gerome later on winning his own watch, but didn’t wait to finish the others, a couple more incidents raising too many red flags for the wyvern rider. He knew when to quit when it was necessary.
Riding a horse and balancing a lance was interesting, but nothing too exciting to the point he’d trade off the thrill of the sky, and the confidence he has with his axe. He charges the events of the day to experience, and retires back to the monastery, a tiny bit more experience with the lance gained, and an acquaintance he knew he can at least count on to be dependable should they ever meet again.

While the ‘translation’ was much appreciated, Gerome had an unnerving feeling he should be insulted somehow. He brushes it off, however, and nods along to the other’s statement. He thought that was the end of that until the student started making excuses.
“It’s just– I– h-have you seen that other guy?! I thought it was a smart move and–” Before he could finish his argument, Gerome once more butts in, shaking his head in disappointment as he points to his tied ankle again. “Nonsense. If you fell, both you and your mount would both be hurt– one more than the other.” He stares back at the student wordlessly, not looking away until attempts were made to free himself.
The student freezes and shamefully looks down on his tied ankle, muttering incomprehensible words as he slowly tried to free himself. The keyword was try. A few seconds pass and he was still fiddling with the knots until it escalated into him just tugging it with force.
“…” This… was just sad to look at.

A mix of empathy as well as embarrassment showed on Leonie’s features ultimately forming into a look of disappointment as she watched the student ‘try’ to free himself. She wondered just how he had managed to sign up for the jousting competition if he didn’t even know the basics of riding safety. This would be a matter she’d take up with the council and directors later.

Her eyes flicked briefly to the masked individual, wondering if he had the same expression she wore. Though she couldn’t quite tell underneath the mask, there was a part of her gut that knew he was feeling the same thing.

“You’re not gonna get out if you keep tugging like that. Here, let me help.”

After loosening a few knots and undoing several loops the ginger managed to set the man free. A couple of words of gratitude were exchange and soon the young man was sent off on his way back to wherever it was he came from. With the rope in hand Leonie approached the mount, gently caressing its neck before holding the stallion by its reins.

“Good thing we noticed that guy, huh? He could’ve really hurt himself out there.”

She shot the horse a quick nod.

“I’ll take this guy back to the stables. I’m sure he’s had enough of foolish riders for one day.”

As she began to lead the horse towards the back of the jousting area she took one last look back at the masked man flashing him a bright grin.

“I just realized I never introduced myself! The name’s Leonie, haha! See you around!”

♤ ; furmidable thieves

@birdwhisperer Mission board:  The cats have gotten familiar enough with people that they’ve begun fearlessly raiding the kitchens! After the latest robbery, the kitchen staff needs your help. Will you go fish up what you can to save tonight’s meal, or chase after the culprits? The cats are crafty, so be sure to bring a group of friends with you to corner them! [Grants Gauntlet +1]

It had been a couple days since Leonie was approached by one of the kitchen maids with a request. According to them there had been crafty thieves running amok and raiding the kitchen. Leonie was just one of the many people who stopped to pet and feed the monastery cats; it was an act that came naturally when faced with the cute, fluffy creatures. Who would have thought that their actions would cost them tonight’s (and possibly future) meals?

Leonie had spent the last couple days trying to catch the slippery felines. Each attempt had ended in failure so far, the cats being too crafty and smart for their own good. Their sly schemes reminded her of a particularly clever house leader, though she wouldn’t say who exactly.

At the moment Leonie hid between two crates, staking out a group of cats she thought to be the ringleaders. If she could take out the ones leading the others, she was sure the raids would stop; it was basic beast mentality. Holding a net in hand she braced herself for the surprise attack when a sudden tap on her shoulder caused her to jump.

“WAH, Marianne?! Wait, no-!”

Her sudden exclamation made the cats jump in response, each of them darting off in their own direction as Leonie helplessly extended a hand.

“Ah, drat! They got away. I was so close too...”

With a sigh she stood up, dusting the dirt from her knees as she did so, and turned to face her classmate. Her brows knitted and her head tilted slightly in question, one hand resting gently on her hip.

“Did you need something?”

♤ ; whop piñata

@elysieth, @bluebloodedpride Mission board: Bright colours in the marketplace have caught your eye: a 'piñata', the merchant called it. Hollow creatures made of paste and colourful paper strips and filled with a... surprise. You like surprises, don't you? They explain the rules of the game, and you pass over a gold piece to give it a try. (Lance +1)

It was another bustling day in the marketplace. Faces, both strange and acquainted, lined the streets, each going about their way purchasing goods at various stalls. A couple hagglers could be spotted throughout the area, both customer and merchant unyielding to the other as their back-and-forths dragged on. Leonie was no stranger to the act, just now walking away from a successfully discounted bag purchased from a stubborn merchant. Quiet grumbles about wasted time slipped past pressed lips as Leonie continued her way down the line.

The call of a particularly jovial merchant caught her attention as she marched on causing her to stop in her track to hear what he had to say. Save for the counter and odd multicoloured object dangling loosely behind him his stand wasn’t particularly impressive. In fact, were it not for the rainbow like object Leonie doubted she would have even given him the time of day to explain what it is he was doing here.

“A ‘piñata’, huh?”

After hearing his explanation Leonie couldn’t deny her interest was piqued. According to the seller (or would game master be more appropriate in this context?) the first person able to bust open the ‘piñata’ would get to receive the surprise that was inside. Essentially this was a test of strength if Leonie understood the game correctly. Her arms crossed, brows furrowed in contemplation. She was interested and she did want to play, but Leonie had made the trek to the marketplace alone; she had no partner to play this game with.

As if on cue she spotted two familiar figures just out of her left peripheral. She jumped at the opportunity immediately, blocking their path before they could get a chance to walk away.

“Hey, Professors!” She gave them both a nod in greeting, a wide grin spread across her face. Leaving out small talk and cutting straight to the chase the ginger posed a question. “What do you say we play a little game?”

♤ ; spirited away

@disinclinedknight Mission board: For the last several weeks, hunters from a nearby village have been going missing without a trace. The villagers have warned them of the local folklore, that the forests of the region are protected by spirits sent by the Goddess herself to ensure that the land has time to recover and grow in the springtime rains... You set out to investigate these disappearances, but as you step into the woods, rain begins to fall. (Bow +1)

The crunching of dirt and rock beneath rolling wheels served as white noise for Leonie as she read over the details of their latest mission one more time. Her body swayed gently with the rocking of the cart, bumping and bouncing over the odd protruding rock or two. Her hands gripped tightly to the edges of the scroll, both in fear of losing the sheet and in worry of the village, large crinkles in the paper forming around the grip of her fingers.

A sigh managed to make its way past her lips as she rolled up the scroll and passed it to Ignatz.

“What do you make of this information? Do you think the spirits are responsible for this?”

Being from a small hunting village herself there was a sense of duty, as some would call it, to aid the folk of this nearby village. As if it was an obligation she needed to fulfill for being one of the few commoners who attended Garreg Mach. It was self imposed - she knew - but that didn’t help her in lessening the feeling any less. Along with Ignatz, a fellow classmate, they had managed to catch one of the last merchant carts heading into the village, cutting their travel time by several hours.

“There has to be something- someone else at work here...”

As she pondered over possible explanations the cart came to eventual halt, arriving in a slightly wooded area of land. A few people stopped to look at the pair as they hopped off the cart and watch as the driver pulled away. Leonie paused to take in a deep breath allowing the scent of fern and oak to drift in. She couldn’t recall the last time she had been surrounded by brushes of trees and took the moment to properly take in her surroundings. With one quick motion Leonie slung the curve of the bow over her quiver, a hand falling to her hip as she finished.

“Well, shall we get going?”

we’re soaring, flying!

unacceptable! absolutely unacceptable! why had no one alerted him of the unexplored terrain earlier?! now, this resort may not be of the empire (or even aegir for that matter), but the dubious ownership of this land does not stop ferdinand from appointing himself as temporary leadership. after all, there is no one better (and certainly not edelgard) to oversee this beach than ferdinand von aegir, future prime minister of adrestia and an exemplary icon of fodlan’s nobility. greenwood borders the destination many have declared their home for the duration of paradise, lush boscage bustle with the potential of incoming danger. iron lance equipped, it only takes a tick of a second before the adrestian elite rounds himself up a formidable companion. another minute and they are braving the unknown, venturing into the thicket to where the ubiquitous threat of a ferocious beast looms ‘pon their shoulders.

“you do impressive work with that bow of yours,” ferdinand acknowledges as he uses his lance to swat away intrusive branches. he steps over a protruding root and moves to the side, turning to watch his companion– leonie-- overcome the minor obstacle as well before resuming his trek. outside of minuscule game, there is little danger to be had in the heart of the forest. utopian is the greatest definition for the land they’ve found themselves upon. it’s undoubtedly splendid, but another concern arises: is it sustainable? of course, as a vacation away from the bustle of their daily lives, it’s not as if ferdinand dreams for trouble! it’s just– a bit unbelievable. alas, that just means there’s less a chance for this occasion to be spoiled!

“perhaps i’ll even take you as a sparring partner one day.” she’s not a typical opponent of his, far from noble-blood, but a bit of jousting between social classes does no harm. better yet, there is a benefit for both parties to be had! the common folk come to understand the splendor of nobility and, likewise, the nobility evaluates what the lower-class education lacks and thus issues orders to improve upon it. the girl may be from the leicester alliance, but an international contest had never harmed anyone! the thought summons forth newfound enthusiasm in the aegir elite, something to add upon his schedule, but it’s the appearance of an incline that then seizes his attention.

“aha, an interesting turn of events! it seems as if we’ve been granted a new elevation to explore,” ferdinand does not care to size up the pathway before him, choosing to rush towards the slope. he stops only to adjust his footing to ensure he doesn’t slip. with vigor, he continues to march forth. “make haste, leonie!” @rivclry

Copying the actions of the man before her, taking a thick and sturdy stick of her own, Leonie began to whack at some of the foliage in their way as the duo passed through. With a quiver and bow slung across her shoulder she followed closely behind Ferdinand who, with gusto, had taken it upon himself to lead their charge into the thicket surrounding the beach. Though she couldn’t recall why she was approached to explore together (something about the reluctance of adventuring the unknown), getting to explore the jungle was an opportunity she didn’t hesitate to jump at. As soon as the offer was extended the ginger was on board. Who knew what manner of beast they would find; what treasures lay waiting; what adventure was set for them on this strange land of paradise?

Leonie knew very little about the man before her, having had little opportunity to interact with those outside of her own house, his offer to explore being the only time the two had had a conversation (if one could even call it that). It didn’t take long for the aspiring mercenary to realize that he was of noble blood. Everything about the way he held himself, tall and proud, shoulders taut and straight replicating the images of learned men and women, to the way he would address himself, introducing himself by his full name as though all who heard should shower themselves in the light of his presence; it was all awfully familiar to another violette noble in the Golden Deer.

She takes a cautious step over a protruding root, acknowledging Ferdinand’s affirmation of her skill as she continues to follow closely behind him. An almost smug little grin draws itself onto her face, roused by the idea of gaining another sparring partner.

“Heh! I’d take you up on that offer if you asked me. It’d be nice to see how different our techniques are.”

Eventually the two make it to a sudden lift in the earth, the elevated ground peeking just over top some of the tallest trees - perhaps even a little more.

“Wait, Ferdinand-”

Her call seems to fall on deaf ears as Ferdinand begins to eagerly march towards the incline. With a small huff Leonie adjusts to the sudden shift in pace and continues to trudge behind him. At the speed they were going at it takes the duo just a couple minutes to reach the top, allowing them a moment to catch their breath as Leonie began to take in the view. As she scans the horizon she spots an odd structure out of her peripheral; a strange... monument? that seemed to sit close to the edge of the elevated ground. She points a finger towards it motioning towards her partner to look in the same direction.

“Look, there’s something over by the edge.”

Don't eat the food, Ilyana repeats to herself. This is for Laleh. Don't. Eat. The. Food. She can simply wish for another one and enjoy it with her housemate. "Laine!" Ilyana calls to the passing girl. She extends the cinnamon roll (topped with icing and piles of strawberries). "...I never did say thank you for...helping me when I fainted."

Avatar

She doesn’t stop when Ilyana calls to her, only halting when a cinnamon roll suddenly gets placed between her and her path forward.

“Oh, were you calling to me?”

A hand comes up to scratch the back of her head, a small laugh paired with a grin painting her face. Had she not been stopped physically Leonie was sure she would have simply passed the poor girl by. Her name wasn’t Laine after all.

She took a look at the cinnamon roll, both appreciation and confusion lining her features as she took the pastry in hand.

Leonie wasn’t exactly sure what the violette was talking about, all memory prior to coming to the beach either foggy or nonexistent. Had she helped her before? There was a part of her that felt she had done something out of the ordinary (running away?) with the purple mage, but her memories stayed locked, the feelings soon dissolving into nothing but a small figment of what she thought to be her imagination.

She extends the girl another smile thanking her for the cinnamon roll.

“Not really sure what I did but it’s no problem! After all, it’s only natural to help others in need, right?”

Normally he'd be fine with just throwing some candy towards someone's direction if its their birthdays. As long as they're close enough, of course. He wasn't sure if the Leonie was into sweets, however, even if she so generously handed him chocolate back then. If she really was a sweets lover, she would have kept it for herself... yeah, that's probably it. So, instead of giving her candy, he goes for an alternative, "Pssst. Bambi. You're into hunting, yeah?" [1/2]

She’s standing before him hand on her hip, wiping a bead of sweat from her brow, her hair sparkling in the sun’s rays. Her cheeks tickled red with a slight flush, pinkened from throwing around a disc for a couple hours.

“Into hunting? Hah! What gave you that idea?”

Her answer is breathy, enunciation husky as her breath catches on some of her words. Balancing the disc on her finger she starts to spin it around, her attention not fully on the other until he makes his second statement. Game, huh? She couldn’t remember the last time she had hunted an animal-never mind a boar. A small grumble in her stomach gives her answer away as she sets a hand on it to settle it down.

“A boar you say? Heh, I’m down.”

She drops the hand from her hip, the other hand grasping the disc as she makes her way past Gaius. Her face beams, a smile stretching from ear to ear as excitement starts to build in her body.

“We’ll see just how perfect this perfect sauce of yours is later. If you don’t hurry I’m gonna have the boar all to myself!”

"Hey Leonie! There are so many pretty shells here. Help me look for some and we could make accessories with them!"

Leonie never considered herself having an eye for some of the finer things in life, often choosing functionality over appearance when shopping for accessories, if ever. So when Hilda called out to her, the ginger couldn’t help but feel slightly reluctant to join her, not knowing if she would really appreciate the help Leonie would offer.

“I’d be glad to but uh, are you sure you want my help? I’m not exactly the trendiest person out there.”

Despite her momentary hesitation Leonie squatted down, keeping an eye out for any shells that might catch her eye. She decided that if Hilda never wanted her help she would never have called out to her anyways. Besides, this would give her a chance to get to know her fellow deer better.

As she scanned the beach she spotted a sparkle in the sand a couple feet away. Slightly buried but poking out enough to reflect the sun’s rays was a shimmering pink and beige shell about the size of a gold coin.

Though she may not know much about what people appreciated in terms of appearance, even Leonie had to admit that the shell she held was quite stunning.

“Hey, Hilda! What do you think about this one? I think it’d look nice on you!”

♤ ; a letter from home

It was just another long day of playing at the waterside. Tired and exhausted Leonie made her way into the sleeping quarters, ready to crash for the night. As she made her way towards her bed she noticed a scroll, unfurled and neatly tied with a ribbon, sitting by the edge of her bed. Wondering who could have sent it she read the little note attached to the ribbon, eyes widening as she found out who the sender was. Without wasting time she immediately undid the ribbon and opened up the scroll, ready to read the contents inside.
