              “I just wanted to make sure why you were skulking around in this prefecture.”

Deepset tones, exhaled as the ball gently soared back towards the stranger.

♚| | It wasn’t as though he didn’t have a great deal of respect for the elder’s skills, in fact, the enigmatic tyrant had enjoyed every practice match they had been granted so far, and he had, of course, noted how Karasuno’s belligerent middle blocker had been essentially kidnapped every now and then for unknown purposes..       It had to be the eccentricity, the loud noises, his pride as an individual, regardless of his intense need to play volleyball, couldn’t quite handle the excessive owl captain at his best, or worst. Bokuto was an asininely powerful player in general, but he was also one that was said to bring out the strengths in his team... which was something the young genius had taken for a setter’s duty.

                 As such, the ball was unceremoniously, and with a bit of undue force, chucked towards the the noisy captain, as the crow’s fallen king spoke in the same instance.                I won’t pass to anyone who isn’t essential to winning.  This was a technicality, he guessed, as the Fukurodani ace was essential to their victory.

       “I’ll use the wall as a third person, but please let me pass to you for a minute!                                                   ... if you don’t mind.“

♚| | Admiration was an inevitable tragedy depending on the source, but without an innate comprehension of just exactly why that which you raised upon a pedestal opted to jump off directly onto your head while you were attempting to make your own steps up, it was difficult to move on.... perhaps he’d never really know exactly why his grandiose upperclassman had turned his fangs against him that day, or maybe he was just too stupid.      Was it really because he was trying to get stronger? Because he himself was already talented? Did someone who was capable of so much truly feel inferior?               It couldn’t be - the ‘Great King’ had proven time and time again that even if the well-eyed tyrant was able to scrape together victory by tooth and nail, as a setter... Oikawa was as a deity to the earth.

                         “Oikawa-san.“

The name spoken was with a tone rarely heard - respect, a hint of awe, it was even, if not slightly begrudgingly, imploring, as the Karasuno number nine quickened his pace a single tempo in order to catch up with that familiar back, once again.

             .... and then a pause.... which turned into a lack of communication, as that arsenic gaze was cast upwards, downwards, to the side, back at his senpai, back down, back up...

                              “... what if I passe to you, once? Or you, to me?                   Even if you just made fun of it, there are other things I want to practice.”

♚| | Aggravation encompassed the genius monarch like a hazy miasma, that deep well of a gaze fixated dangerously across the court, reflecting the ridiculously pale giant with nothing short of relentless disapproval.           But it was impossible to bring any of his thoughts to voice, without it being a roar -   it was impossible to express anything... because he did not want to be referred to as a king.. He did not want to invoke the thought of being rejected so harshly that he was taken from his entire world... so, instead, he approached as calmly as was possible, which still appeared as a war march across the field of battle, until he was effectively staring their impassive middle blocker in the left nipple, refusing to gaze up. This was just practice... but...

                  “... Tsukishima.            ... did... did you... ..  - meAN.. to... not even... t-TRY for that.pass?       ... can you.. give me a ..REASON, OR MAYBE - A SUGGESTION.”

His voice wavered between the rumbling depths of the earth and a forced soft edge, feigning what could have been politeness.

♚| | Perhaps he still didn’t quite understand the vehemence against him, and that distress caused his path to diverge from the normal jogging route, leading the kingly crow far into enemy territory.  Looking up to others was something that the impressionable youth actually had quite a difficult time with - another’s words, if he managed respect for the bearer, tended to shape the young man’s foundation if they had to do with what he cared for...        ... maybe they were here...                         As stealthily as he was possibly able, the gymnasium was located, broad shoulders resting against one of the windows as though he was simply resting from his run, an idle glance cast sideways in order to peer inside.                                           “... h'aah?”

The girls team.           ... he hadn’t really managed to become familiar with them - nor was the tyrant ever really able to practice well with others enough to  branch out to the fairer race.                                ... it was interesting, though, to see if there was a difference.

It wasn’t all that dissimilar to the assessment of cogs in a machine - necessary for movement, unable to function without said progression from each and every piece - was this rival upperclassman just mature, or simply excessive for a human being?      The sovereign crow was idle, his expression not quite betraying the full extent of frustration held in regards to the kind of player that could even manage to get their impassive moon to crest in a fuller phase - but, he couldn’t quite manage to bring out the potential in his team, that was his own short-coming, so it wouldn’t do to hold contempt towards the enigmatic cat leader. 

        That, of course, didn’t stop him from essentially stalking the Nekoma captain, standing eerily against the doorway of the gym, emanating what could have been dark matter in his attempt at being discreet.                                                                             “K’ch.”

♚| | Without being allowed inside an actual court - the hour was far too late, or perhaps, early, the sun was just now beginning to bathe the park in fiery hues - for such endeavors - a tree or the wall of an empty building was fine, too... as long as he was able to practice.

    A precise hit against the wood of a nearby cherry tree, and the ball would rush back towards the genius setter as though an teammate had meant it for him in particular.                   The kink of the knee, palms spread, preparing to cradle the most important aspect of the game for a mere moment, the memory of a comrade’s flight overlapping his entire field of vision... and it rushed backwards, behind him...           ... it was supposed hit an empty water bottle on the ground, but instead, there was someone else that he had missed walking by - he hadn’t noticed, the ball was hurdling straight towards the almost foreign-looking adult.
