My thoughts in a nutshell: it was full of corny MCU type humor, the lore (which I admittedly can’t really judge JUST yet, so this is just my assumption, bear that in mind) seems kinda predictable and trite, and the art direction (especially the faces) wasn't my fav/felt cluttered.
I’m withholding judgement until it actually comes out, but I’m not super optimistic.
I will say tho I’m excited for my wife. If they do something interesting with him I’ll throw all my criticism out the window lmao

There is a train that the mundane don’t know of, one that goes between worlds.
The forest rushes by in the window, lush and dark. It sends the sunset light flickering across the compartment floor, the seats, Liath Tyr’s fur. Rory has seen yokai in their painted masks, spirits with their ghostly fire passing by. The stewardess is a woman with ever-shifting tattoos and dark eyes. They helped a cait sidhe with its ticket, as it had no opposable thumbs. The dreams they have as they doze with their head on Liath Tyr’s shoulder are strange.
There is a train.
Transformers fans are allergic to new concepts/unique takes on characters that don’t line up with the same shit we’ve been getting for 40+ years and it is genuinely infuriating btw

I think about that last one with Shockwave constantly. CONSTANTLY. It’s so powerful.
Also—I know things seem really bleak in the world right now, and in a lot of ways they are. But don’t give up. Keep fighting. Take some time to rest and recharge, but KEEP FIGHTING. For everyone who’s been wronged. For yourself. We all deserve a better life and we can do this.
They will not win.
Going back to using they/them pronouns. I’m still transmasc but the nonbinary label and neutral pronouns just feel most comfortable at the moment. Thanks for all of y’all’s consideration!

I have decided to give up on struggling with longfic and novels and instead work with my adhd and do shorter pieces. A short story is the only long thing I’ve ever actually finished in over a decade of writing, so I’m optimistic. Just can’t ask a fish to climb a tree, you know?

Been thinking about what I’m going to do when my Cintiq eventually dies. I tried a Logitech pen on iPad with Procreate and hated how the pen pressure felt, but I’ve heard using an actual Apple Pencil is better. Thoughts?

FYI I just came across a thread on twitter which says that an author shared on google docs an explicit story with a friend for beta reading and google removed the file due to violation of TOS (apparently it has been updated where you are not allowed to share anything with sexual content). Not sure if it’s just this instance or if it’s going to become a widespread thing but if you guys write in google docs MAKE BACK UPS!!
Edit: also wanted to add that it seems that Microsoft word has the same language in their TOS so onedrive is not a safe alternative!
