the thing here is like uh

what most posters *actually* believe in is neither voting nor firebombing but *posting*. the liberals don't believe in elections, they believe in posting. the communists don't believe in revolutions, they believe in posting. anarchists are a bit better but even most anarchists do not believe in direct action or mutual aid etc., they believe in posting. it's all fake like... 80% of the time.

i think most liberal posters vote!

sure, but voting by itself does not exactly constitute a significant political action most of the time, liberalism posters talk about elections and reformism and then do not actually go participate in campaigns or reformist politics etc.

I'm not arguing against voting here, and actually it tends to frustrate me how little attention people pay to highly significant ballot measures and such, that's my biggest problem with voting discourse from both "sides" of it. but most liberal discourse is as fake as most walmart firebomb type discourse

i think the liberal position here tends to be "there are people who already represent my politics (democrats) and i intend to vote for them and donate to them" and not "someone (maybe me) should go start a campaign to represent my politics"

this is a very different situation than what communist or anarchist posters are dealing with, where they assert that the existing political process doesn't represent their views

though credit where credit is due, i should point out that one of the more prolific liberal twitter posters is currently running for office

Got the general opinion that "bundling shit together in bills is nothing really to complain about" but the Ukraine/Israel/Tiktok ban bill is testing me there.

Pairing the "stop a brutal war of ethnic conquest" money with the "support a brutal war of ethnic conquest" money is an all time 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 moment

my most crank opinion is that microplastics literally do not matter as a health concern bc by definition they're inert. they're an ecological concern, yeah. i helped my mom with a little lit review and the general vibe is like, well they could theoretically be a vector by which dangerous things like pathogens or heavy metals or chemical compounds could come in your body but they're just hanging out there. and given that heavy metals are still being found in all kinds of food everywhere in the world, public health has to chase that.

New dichotomy (polychotomy) just dropped

this kind of cements my view that most classes should probably just be taught by someone with an undergrad or masters in the subject matter rather than the current situation in which states require ever more advanced degrees and coursework in education to renew teaching licenses

I think this is fine in the median case but I wouldn't have gotten nearly as much out of college if my professors were not genuine experts that I could badger with my questions in their spare time

I mean for like middle/high school

Ohhh yeah that makes sense

this is so funny I cannot believe this was posted

insane that she posted that instead of, y'know, this:

truly dedicated to her craft (presenting herself and those who agree with her in as unappetizing a way as possible)
