Set in the shimmering haze of modern day Los Angeles, En Pointe follows the story of Evangeline, a young and determined ballet prodigy, and the elite dancers around her. En Pointe explores the euphoric yet dangerous reality of the professional ballet industry, and the complex dynamics of wealth, ambition, family, and power which underlie it.

And so I get up and complain loudly and knot my running shoes; and give myself away with a smile. 

The onyx marble is cool under my bare feet. A thousand more gold petals suspend, silent, above; I have to crane my neck to see them all. Shadows and lustrous ink thread together in a palatial lounge that makes even the Steinway piano look tiny. For the briefest moment, I imagine young men in suits draped over the sunken sofas, ballerinas in sequins coming undone beneath the chrysanthemums, bloody wine dripping off the wings of porcelain cranes. But only one person lives here.  The vastness of Manhattan yawns beneath us.

I'm still very much "semi-retired", although there's plenty of story and sexy Evako edits I'm keen to do (if I can stop my stupid fuckin game from crashing every second, which is a real big ask). My one resolution is to finish Act III of En Pointe, and if I can wrestle out a few edits to go along with it, then that will be a successful year.

And here we are—halfway through—where summer wildflowers murmur across the valley and gather around three glimmering reflections of the Sierras. Every summer since I was 14, our family has trekked here, to this very place where my heels hover on the crest of the trail; and yet without fail, time stops moving; and I almost feel like I could fly. 

In the June light he's ethereal, those golden irises and fine Italian features sculpted in Gucci editorials; yet his skin has turned earthy over the Los Angeles summer, a thousand freckles scattered over his nose, rooted plainly to the world in a way so different from our elite dancer circle. Misha Solano is free and beautiful as the wildflowers carpeting the mountains. I can see why Mako loves him so.
