she spins in circles - round, and round, and round. she is always dizzy, but she likes being responsible for it. if her brain is going to float like a fish in a bowl during an earthquake, she’s going to be the FUCKING EARTHQUAKE. she throws her head back; her neck is the bow, and the laugh spilling past her chapped, parted lips is the arrow. she twirls, still, eyes shut with corners scrunched. everything about her defiant, whimsical. SHE IS ELECTRIC.

❛ can you feel it? ❜ she asks.             ❛ what? ❜             ❛ the possibility. ❜

Newt recognised the other.
For how large Hogwarts truly was, if the thousand students were anything to go by, everyone seemed to know each other. A Ravenclaw…Barry, yes, that was the name. Barry. They’d shared a class or two last year.
“Make yourself comfortable, there’s no use of a large cabin only for one person, right?” The wizards gaze flickered back down to Salem, who had scooped out from his pocket, one hand holding the tiny ball of white fluff, the other holding the slice of cheese said tiny ball of white fluff had been nibbling on.
It had been a compromise for the cat Newt had hoped for.
(Theseus was allergic)

“Thanks.” Barry said with a grin as he entered the compartment, sliding the door closed behind him . “Scamander, right?” He asked. Barry was pretty good at putting names to faces. And while the two didn’t exactly talk, he knew they had a few classes together the previous year.

“A compartment to yourself can be nice though, don’t have to worry about anyone botherin’ you or having to be in a conversation you don’t want to be in.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. Because he was sure that would be the case if he stayed with Iris.

“What it’s name?” He asked, sea green hues looked down at the small mouse who have come out of his pocket, cheese in hand. Deciding making light conversation wasn’t that bad of a way to spend the light to the castle.

When I was little, I thought love was about red roses and expensive dinners.. Truth is, love is giving her half your fries when she said she wasn’t hungry. It’s waking up at 4am to her snoring and refraining from shoving her off the bed. It’s talking in accents just for shits, and trying to embarrass one another in public. It’s going on adventures, and making fun of each other. It’s stupid fights and memorable make ups. Love isn’t pretty and romantic.. Love is just stumbling through life with your best friend.

Amnesia pt. 2

It still felt like he was holding his breath until she said I love you. He relaxed some with his arms around her and she understood that feeling more than she cared to admit. Without Barry she had been holding her breath for months. It was a different pain than when they’d broken up and she moved to Midway for school. At least that had a feeling of closure. Leaving for Star City, Barry forgetting her, was a wound that refused to heal. At least now there was the promise that it would scar over.
Her heart ached just hearing that he would always belong to her. It was the good kind of ache, the kind she hadn’t felt since before his mind was wiped free of her. You’re my favorite person in the world, he’d whispered the morning of that day over breakfast, pausing as he cleared their pates from the table to kiss her forehead.
Barry brushed aside the thought of loving someone else so easily. It only had tears brimming her eyes again. He had every chance to move on and fall in love with someone else. Someone better. Patty had no powers or even the promise of a lifetime of adoration like Iris. In all of Central City there wasn’t one woman that caught his eye? No old flames to set spark toMaybe his heart had truly remembered her even when he did not.
His kiss pressed against her forehead and she closed her eyes, letting the tears slip down her face. That she contained any tears left to cry was surprising. She remembered the last time he had and gripped at the front of his sweater.
“Do you want to come home?” she whispered, “stay here for the night?”

It was all he could ask for, more really. Because he knew just how much he was asking already for to accept him back into her life after everything that happened. But this was a start. A start for them to move past it, not exactly going back to how things used to be, because even he knew that was impossible. But it would be close enough.

He could feel the tears dripping against his fingers. Sea green hues staring down at her. “I’m really hoping those are happy years.” His tone was light as he gave a chuckle.

Then his eyes widened as he continued to look at her. Surprised at her words, more of a whisper really. “Forreal?” He said in a breath. He hadn’t expected her offer. And he was a bit hesitant in saying yes. Not because he didn’t want to, but because he was a little worried about rushing back into things after everything. “Only if you want me to Patty.”

“You know,” Cami said for a moment, thinking about the whole need for secrets. She was never keen on lying, but she also knew the value of her compulsion and it kept people safe from the supernatural world. “If you ever need to keep your secret safe and someone finds out, I do have a way and making them forget,” She said as she glanced his way. “Not making them disappear but just erasing that part. Its hard to explain,” Cami said as she waved her hand brief and then chuckled wit ha small nod.
“Yes. Each person as a unique signature in their blood and their smell. ITs like a fingerprint, no person is the same, though there can be many common factors. All humans, for example, have a very earthy scent, though some might have a more ashen smell and others can have a soft floral smell. The obvious ones are like smokers or drunk people, it’s a very bitter scent because of the alcohol and smoke.” She tried to explain to the best of her ability, though it was one of those things she just didn’t have enough descriptive words to explain each individual scent.
Cami gave a small shrug. “I’m sure there are things you could do if you had to stop me. But it won’t ever come to that,” Cami said assuring him, and by no means discrediting his ability to stop people. Even the most powerful creatures can be stopped if someone put their mind to it. “Can I ask how you got your speed?” She said curious, the scholar coming out. “I’ve had so many theories of how it might have happened.”
Image
“Is that one of your powers of being a hybrid? How do you make them forget?” He said, brows slightly furrowed. He wouldn’t deny his curiosity getting better of him. Everything she was telling him just made him want to know more. Mostly because the fact that he didn’t know anything about what she was. And also because it was genuinely interesting; at least to him. Learning something he hadn’t known before was always interesting to him.

“I’m pretty sure you’re tired of hearing this from me, but that’s pretty cool. Is that because of your heightened senses?” He could only imagine how that was like. Taking in each person’s scent and knowing who they were because of it. and how different each person smelled, so completely different from what any normal human could even sense.

He gave a shrug of his shoulders. “Maybe, but I doubt it’d ever come to that.” And he believed that it wouldn’t. Cami seemed in control of herself, and the likelihood of her losing control seemed low. “You know about the particle accelerator right? Well, when it blew up, I was struck by lighting when it happened. I was in a coma for nine months, and not longer after I woke up, I discovered I had these powers.”

Two weeks have passed since that night and they’d managed to fall into a comfortable rhythm despite the fact that the situation made her want to rip her hair out. It had been an adjustment, especially with Jesse and Wally having to take over Barry’s position with the Justice League for the time being. Part of Iris wanted to hate Barry for making the choices he had, for failing to consider the consequences of his actions and what the ramifications would be for their friends, for him, for her, for them. In one fell swoop he had erased an entire universe and clicked a reset which had resulted in this one. And yet she couldn’t hate him because the simple fact was that even if he didn’t see it, no matter the universe, no matter the changes he was still the same goofy and caring to a fault Barry Allen that she LOVED. Just without the memories they’d shared. Granted, hadn’t Wells told them that he might begin to remember?
Image
“I’m sorry, did you say something Barry?” Iris questions as she looks up from her phone that she was texting Wally from. “I’m sorry, I’ve just– I’ve got a lot on my mind.” With a sigh she puts her phone down on the table, a call from Hal going unanswered. “I’ll call him back later.” There’s another pause as she runs a hand through her hair. She’s been doing her best to balance work and reintroducing Barry to this timeline all while dealing with the fact that the man she’d fallen in love with didn’t remember her as.. herself, instead him having known some other version. It was a lot for anyone to process. “I don’t want this to sound weird but, and only if you’re comfortable with it, you have the option to come live in our apartment. We have a guest room, I don’t expect– I just think Wally might like to stop sleeping on the couch.” And, she hoped it could help him recover memories from this timeline, or in the least give Joe back his house. Not that they both hadn’t grown up there after Joe had adopted them but after two weeks she figured he’d be happier having his own space back, especially given that Wally had been staying in Barry’s old room.

It had been two weeks, and he didn’t think much had changed. His memories were still the same. Give or take a few that seemed to be slipping away. Something as simple as him talking to Jesse or Wally. Or even just going to the precinct. Some things triggered memories, almost like flashbacks from this new world he’d created. As if they were his own, but he supposed, that now they sort of were. But it was all still and adjustment. Because despite a few things coming back to him, as Harrison explained to him, he still hadn’t remember Iris. But maybe that was just him? He claimed he was trying, but maybe deep down, he didn’t want to remember. Because remembering, especially remembering Iris, meant forgetting his life that he’d known. The life that he knew, and lived. And the people, all of the people would erase completely

“H--What? Oh, nothing.” He said shaking his head. He’d lost his train of thought. He didn’t even remember what he was saying to Iris. And it wasn’t like she was listening to him. It probably wasn’t anything important. And he understood how absentminded she’d been. Things were hard for him, but he could only imagine how much harder they were for her. Both remember different versions of each other; while they held strong feelings for one another; there was a wall between them. Mostly though, on his part. He didn’t think he was making any of this easier for her. Maybe he really did need to try harder. But as much effort in as she was. Then her words rang in loud and clear. He was silent for a moment. Contemplating his options. She was right though, he was imposing on Joe and Wally by staying there. He knew that. But was he ready for this? He wasn’t sure, but he knew this was a good idea in the direction he wanted to go in. If he wanted to try harder to remember Iris, maybe living in their apartment was good idea. He finally gave a nod of his head. “Y-Yeah. I think that’s a good idea. Wally’ll probably be happy to hear it.” He said with a light chuckle.

She realized that the fact of him k n o w i n g her wouldn’t change anything, not really, because he knew the person she was b e f o r e she had powers. Before becoming t h i s. She wasn’t that person anymore. And he might not realize because he’s hung up on fixing her. But she’s broken, she cannot be fixed anymore, she’s looked for every possibility herself - there’s no hope. She had the advance here, because he’s still the same old Barry. She k n o w s him, she cares about him and even though that didn’t matter now, the knowing him did. Because she could use that. She could use everything against him. The apology was somewhat expected, although the following words were not. Flinching as she shortly looked away. She didn’t want to say anything more, she just wanted to leave him there, get as far away as possible but she could not. He wouldn’t stop. ‘’You’re r i g h t,’’ she starts, fully recovered from the little doubt that he caused, facing him once more. ‘’It wasn’t us, it’s you. And it’s only fair I take something of you in return, Iris’ life perhaps? Only then you’d r e a l l y know what I, even Cisco and Harry, went through.’’ A short touch on his chest, a short pinch, icing him up a little higher as her eyes were locked onto his. ‘’Leave me be, or the next time you see me it’ll be at a cost. Don’t make me do that Barry. Don’t you have enough r e g r e t s already?’’

He wondered if his words would reach her. If she even wanted it to. She’d hidden her powers from them since he came back. He really thought that out of everyone, she had been the least effected by flashpoint. But he was wrong. In his world, there was no way Caitlin could become Killer Frost. And now here she was, maybe no blonde hair, but the icy blue eyes and powers was a start. But that’s all it was, the beginning of it, and just because she had powers didn’t mean she had to be bad. Not ever meta-human used their powers for evil, much to Julian’s disbelief. And he strongly believed that Caitlin was capable of overcoming this. But before he could say anything else, her words caught him off guard. Made him flinch. Sea green hues wide, as he stared at her. As if he couldn’t believe those words came from her mouth. “You don’t mean that Cait. I know you don’t. You think having these powers makes you bad. But it doesn’t. As much as you try to act like it, I know you. And you’re not a killer. Neither are you Killer Frost, powers or not.” He said shaking his head. Maybe it was too risky to call her bluff, but he believed that she wouldn’t do it. “No.” He said shaking his head again. “You’ve been dealing with this by yourself this whole time. And look where that’s gotten you. Just let me help you Cait. Please.” He did; he regretted so many choices he made. He’s lost too many people. And because of that. He won’t give up on Caitlin. Because despite her words, he knows, she wouldn’t want him to.

“You’ve always been pretty amazing too, Barry.” Kara replies with a smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes. “Don’t worry, you’ll remember eventually..” At least she hoped he would. Based on the conversation she’d had with Hal after he’d talked to Iris it seemed that’s what Wells’ theory was. The question was would this Barry want to remember this world? Would he want to be a part of it the way he had been before?  “About as much trouble as the rest of us.” Rao, it was a fairly accurate statement to make this time. After all, he’d completely messed up the timeline and she.. well, she’d crossed a line she’d never thought she would– a line that had even put her at odds when her cousin had after General Zod invaded. “I did something bad, Bar, I know you don’t remember this but a few months ago my uncle tried to take control of the planet, used mind-control and then intended to harm a bunch of people when that didn’t work.” She looks away then, gaze eying the ground.
Image
“He had used a parasite to put me in a coma where I saw my world again, everyone I loved and cared about. I had it all back and then it was all ripped away from me again. I felt the loss of an entire planet for the second time and when he threatened all the people of this planet I… I snapped, I let rage take hold and a Red Lantern ring found me. It amplified every bit of RAGE that was inside me and made me see the only way to stop him was to–” She pauses unable to say the words. “He was the last of my race, he was my aunt’s husband and I killed him.” She can’t bring herself to bring her gaze back to Barry so she looks up at the sky. “Once the ring was on me, it was like all I could see was red. I attacked the people I cared about, I even attacked you when you tried to stop me. I thought maybe I would fit in with the Red Lanterns after I was able to get some control over myself again but– well, I’m not a Red Lantern anymore, I’m not Supergirl anymore either.” How could she be after all that? What right would she have to put the crest of her family on again? What right did she have to be Supergirl anymore?

As encouraging as her words were, he wasn’t sure if he would remember. He’d been here this long, and he still hadn’t remembered. Or maybe that was his fault? Subconsciously, maybe he didn’t want to remember. Because if he did, then that meant forgetting the life that he lived, the life that he knew ( the same life that he completely erased from existence ). “Thanks.” He said with a light grin. Right now, with everything the way it was, he didn’t think that. Despite still being a speedster; he didn’t think he was much use to anyone with the way he was. He may not remember what she did, but in a way, he understands it. Everyone has that one point their life that they wished they could erase, a part of themselves that they wished didn’t exists. But everyone has a dark part of themselves, most; like them, chose to conceal it. But it still existed even if they wished it didn’t.

“That’s what we do isn’t? Make the choice that no one else can make, and we have to bare the consequences of our actions. Like how I completely screwed up the timeline and worlds because of what I did. I know, it doesn’t exactly compare to what you did, but I can understand. It’s an option we always try to avoid, but sometimes we can’t. It doesn’t make us any less because of it, it just shows us that we’re human. That we have to make decisions like this, that completely affect who we are as a person, but it doesn’t change who you are Kara. Because even if I don’t remember, I know you’re a good person. Or you wouldn’t feel as guilty as you do about your actions.” He couldn’t understand the whole ‘last of my race thing’ but her understood loss of family, losing not only his mother, but his father. And now, losing Joe, Iris and Wally from his world. He shook his head, his sea green hues fixed on the blonde.

Image

“Don’t let one mistake stop you from being a hero Kara. You’re a good person, and you want to help people. To make up for what you did. So do that, by still being Supergirl. By still saving people. That’s how you can make up for what you did. Doing one bad thing doesn’t mean you’re not good anymore. It just means you made a mistake. So fix it, do better. That’s all we can really do right?” Barry knew from experience. After Eddie died, he didn’t like he deserved to be a hero anymore. That he deserved to be The Flash. But he realized, that even with the mistakes he’s made, he can’t get rid of who he’s become. Deep down, he’ll always be a hero whether or not he feels like he deserves that title.

“You do realize you have a blog dedicated to you right? And that quite a few of your more notable exploits end up in the news? Like I said, you’re kind of a legend.” She accepted his hand. “Nice to meet you too. And not all of us end up as front page news, thank God.” She didn’t need or want to deal with scrutiny or anything like that. “Holed up in the penthouse of a hotel owned by a couple of his local buddies. I have an address, but I’ve never been to Central City. I could use an assist too.” She ducked her head, snickering quietly into the palm of his hand. “No problem Hot Stuff.”
Image

“There are blogs dedicated to literally anything you can imagine.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. Not that he would compare Iris’ blog to any of that other nonsense crap, but he was trying to make a point. And probably not doing so well. He just wasn’t really good at taking compliments. “True, i’m not exactly a fan of the publicity.” Not that he particularly minded, but he didn’t care too much either way. “Okay, just get me the location. I can send the coordinates to my team and I can scope out the area if you need me too.” He offered.
