the commercialization of f1 is insane, and it gets worse every year. and that is coming from a fan who only started watching in fucking 2020.

even leaving the whole mess of abu dhabi ‘21 aside - more and more new tracks, dispoding old tracks bc the countries cannot even AFFORD to hold races anymore, putting the ability to even watch f1 completely behind a paywall in nearly all countries, the dramatization of dts and how it spreads fake narratives, disallowing drivers from fucking speaking their mind just so they don’t antagonize any of the huge problematic sponsors, thinking about spectacle and excitement and completely ignoring it is first and foremost a COMPETITIVE SPORT with written RULES. and now domenicali wants to scratch free practices bc it doesn’t draw in as many viewers (and ticket prices for it are also the only way some people can even afford to see part of f1 live) and says due to high demand even over THIRTY races are possible. 30. that is fucking INSANE.

it is all about money and they are trying to milk f1 to its last drop in total detriment to the sport, and it is honestly sad to watch the decline of the sport happen in real time due to greed.
