if jordan staal doesn’t play for the rest of the season, we all.. every single human being, should respect that. don’t call yourself a fan if you question his loyalty and leadership to his team. family, comes before anything. jordan is allowed to take as much time off as he needs. no stanley cup playoffs is more important than your deceased daughter and taking care of your family. if some people don’t see that, then they should be ashamed of themselves. with every ounce of my soul, i hope jordan doesn’t feel any pressure to come back. and i hope he is aware that we are so many people who are thinking and praying about and for his family.❤️

Hockey community PSA: Stop demanding that female fans “prove” that they are “real” hockey fans. If you find out that a woman is a fan of the sport and your first instinct is to start grilling her with questions that you’ve found on Google about trades from two seasons ago or the captain of her favorite team from decades prior or her feelings about another team’s playoff chances, then you can literally fuck all the way off. You are not the gatekeeper of the sport, and you do not get to decide whether or not someone is a fan of something. I am so sick and tired of people (and by this I 100% mean men) trying to police and judge women’s proclaimed hobbies, interests, and likes. The next time a dude tries to catch me in some lie about actually being a hockey fan by asking me to explain offsides, I’m just going to ask him to tell me which players were taken, by which team, in what order in the 2000 Expansion Draft. Try me, my man, I absolutely dare you.
