The Higuri Regalia is pleased to announce the return of: The Mythril Showcase!

As a refresher to those uninitiated: this fashion show was created during the twilight days of Menphina Madness to provide the frequenters of the sport an opportunity to show off their acumen in style outside of the Blitzsphere. Since then, Thiji Higuri - the merchant-lord and fashion nabob himself - has tested the skill and daring of haute couture hopefuls through various themes. This time, The Regalia, now official League Sponsors of the EBL, is providing this as a new avenue of competition for spectators, fans, and players alike!

With two successful shows now under the Regalia's belt, the deciding of the next theme was opened to the public via poll to give proper closure to this turn; now the results have finally arrived. The theme for the third Mythril Showcase will be: "Kingdoms of the Far East." This inspiration takes from the popularized culture and history of Othard, Hingashi, and the surrounding regions, namely during its warring periods in Hydaelyn's timeline. (TRANSLATION: this cosplay contest is based off the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors/Warriors Orochi series)

Those who wish to participate are welcome, and will be handsomely rewarded with a glamour weapon of their choosing for their efforts. This time, however, there is a twist: as there were warring factions during ancient times, so, too, will there be specific glamour weapons tailored to them! They are detailed below:

Wei: Knights of the Round/Susano

Wu: Rubellux/Tsukuyomi

Shu: Smaragdine/Shinryu

Jin: Fae's Crown

Other: Warring Triad (Sephirot/Sophia/Zurvan)

Samurai: Four Lords (Seiryu/Suzaku/Byakko)

Orochi: Hades/Seeing Horde

UPDATE: In commemoration of the EBL's ongoing charity drive, an additional consolation prize will be given to each participant: an item of their choosing from the Etheirys Sports Network's Fan Store. All purchases will go straight to charity in support of Extra Life!

(NOTE: If the faction of the character you are portraying as does not contain your desired glamour weapon, you are allowed to choose from another category. It is advised you do your research beforehand to prevent confusion.)

The top four winners will receive far more greater prizes:

4th Place Winner: An assortment of Pixie, Archangel, and Statice's Wings, as well as a Tsukumogami Parasol!

3rd Place Winner: A Quaqua Horn & Uolosapa!

2nd Place Winner: A Shishioji Flute & Kuromaru!

1st Place Winner: A Voucher of the Higuri!

(Translation: a commission of your character in the desired outfit will be made!)

(Note: Additional prizes may also be given depending on the quantity of participants!)

The event will take place on Friday, March 22nd at 7PM EST (Doors open an hour prior) - the night prior to the start of Round 2! The location: Higuri Regalia Aldenard Branch HQ in the Goblet, Ward 7, Plot 43 (Balmung World). Whether you wish to spectate, or show off your own Power in Beauty, all are welcome to attend!

Contestants will be judged based on a variety of categories on a 1-to-10 scale.  For the sake of fairness, these criteria will be made known to all.  They are as follows:

  • -Emulation: Cosplaying - as accurately as possible - a certain character from a particular source of media (game/show/movie, etc.)
  • -Adherence: Remaining within the scope of the theme.
  • -Embellishment: Complimenting your outfit with accessories and other small details.
  • -Stage Presence: Your ability to “strut your stuff” via actions or emotes.
  • -Reception: How well you command the audience’s excitement and attention.
  • *-Innovation: Any additional nuances to your entry (using minions, reciting lines, etc.) for extra points.

(You may request to sign-up to compete by utilizing this form: https://forms.gle/Xty9CFEdD3aVq3wWA. Sign-ups will conclude prior to the contest’s commencement - 30 minutes prior to showtime.)

Pg. 8: Flame Queen's Passion

(MODEL: Rukh Lason)

Rounding out the last of the Eurekan Voidsent nobles is another outfit for the insect lovers: the Flame Queen’s Passion!

This sassy sanguine selection of attire combines a gothic-style bustier with a Near Eastern lehenga, brimming with the essence of the noblewoman known as Penthesilea, from Eureka Pyros!

Along with a frilly stole and shades for added pomp, this item also comes with its own pair of ruby wings modeled after a moth’s - the same Vilekin by which Penthesilea was said to have been emulating.  And whether you’re a smoker, an intricately-crafted pipe resembling her spear is also provided!

Flutter a flaming trail to the fashion realm and burn bright like Penthesilea herself!  The Flame Queen’s Passion - a must-have for the fiery vixen!

Note: Wings have been tested to enable flight at some capacity.  Please utilize at your own risk.

Pg. 5: Anemo Consort's Veil

(MODEL: Isja "Coldgaze" Kaltablik)

Majestically floating its way into the realm of high fashion comes a wispy habiliment teeming with wind-aspected materials.  With an ever-billowing trail and headdress, this item has been dubbed the Anemo Consort’s Veil.

“Anemo” being an archaic synonym for wind, this piece was inspired by a powerful Voidsent consorted into nobility known as Lamashtu, who is said to haunt the Isle of Val. The eerie beauty of the selfsame woman has been captured and immortalized in this garb, which can be worn for any occasion - formal or otherwise.

The scintillating blue glow is a sign of the Voidsent’s lingering essence, giving the dress a near-perpetual flow that would make one seem as though they were gliding amidst the floor.  The golden gorget and gothic thigh-highs culminates this attire with some Thanalan-esque style.

Fit for a bride; fit for a lady; fit for a master of the wind.  The Anemo Consort’s Veil is one of this line’s many highlights, and will glide among the zephyrs of the haute couture realm.

Note: Due to its heavy wind aspect, this ensemble has been tested to enable flight for the wearer at some capacity.  Please utilize at your own risk.

Pg. 1: Royal Void-Guard’s Galerus

(MODEL: Deville Ravenholm-Schwarzfeuer XII)

Starting us off for the Abyssal Gala is a dark ensemble inspired by Echidna - the noble charged with protecting the Void Queen Scathach.

The Royal Void-Guard’s Galerus comes with equal parts form and function, while also providing a pleasing view from any angle.  From the scaled tights and jeweled skirt, to the headdress and feathered shoulderguards which were modeled after Echidna’s two servants, this ensemble is ideal for those who enjoy being light on their feet without sacrificing mobility.

The scarf and tail are its biggest features - modeled after the Voidsent noblewoman’s color scheme.  And as an extra feature: the tail is hollowed out, allowing those possessing actual tails to have a special protective layer while still granting free range of movement.

Enjoy this new take on coliseum fashion; where it’s being a Bloodsands combatant or wanting to have a menacingly sexy aura, the Royal Void-Guard’s Galerus is right up your couturial alley!

The Regalia's Magnum Opus - Mingled with Darkness

"Whomever fights monsters should see to it that in the process they do not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

The mysterious Thirteenth Shard - the world known commonly as the Void - is a major point of contention for many scholars, adventurers, and researchers alike. Its citizens are not unlike that of the ones on Etheirys, but with the great distinction of becoming the physical manifestation of their deepest desires and excesses, left unchecked and wanton due to their inability to truly perish from the primordial Darkness which permeates their realm.

And while this boasts true for the rank-and-file among their hierarchy, there exists an upper echelon of these beings - these "Voidsent" - wherein they are considered and classified as nobility. These beings hold considerable power in the world of darkness, and some are even said to have crossed the boundary between their world and ours, making a more permanent - albeit dangerous - home for themselves. The aforementioned nobles have become the focal point for the Higuri Regalia's latest clothing line.

Created from the genius of the Diamond Sultan, this new collection of exclusive attire blends the aesthetic of the Void with that of the Near East. The inspiration from this coming from the fact that Radz-at-Han was founded atop a now-closed void fissure, this fusion of Thavnairian and Voidal culture has resulted in a beautiful marriage of alluringly tenebral proportions. Armed with such knowledge, the guilds of Radz-at-Han were eager to rekindle their alliance with the Higuri Regalia to fashion together - pun intended - another selection of masterful works.

Welcome... to the Abyssal Gala.

Thanks to his Mhachi heritage, Lord Thiji Higuri was able to easily create such masterpieces using void matter as the precious resource of choice to make these unique designs possible. But not without some help. For the first time ever, the Regalia has taken under its wing a beloved fan of the business, whom has aspired to become an apprentice for some time now.

Opening the catalogue’s contents, you would find a picture of the Diamond Sultan and his promising apprentice on the very first page, and a foreword on the other, undoubtedly by the aforementioned merchant-lord of fashion… (Credit and thanks to @minstrels-ink and https://twitter.com/CluoraStefany for the pictures!)

“Greetings, reader.  I am Thiji sor Higuri, Diamond Sultan of the Higuri Regalia.   Beyond this page lies the Power in Beauty Catalogue’s Abyssal Gala - invented through what we now know of the Void.  If you have the drive and the will to achieve new heights of fashion, we humbly welcome you to browse.  However, per protocol, I must warn all new customers who catch wind of this of an important detail:

Due to the amount of passion and dedication put into this extensive  catalogue, we of the Regalia have implemented a special deal to cater to  those who are less favorable towards hostile conditions.  While the outfits and accessories themselves are set at prices that could potentially make the Syndicate’s coffers shudder, a generous discount is offered to those who choose to commission these with an Anti-Glamour enchantment.  This ensures the garments are unmarred and ultimately broken beyond repair - Sisters forbid - as numerous people are so insistent on charging into battle wearing the most impractical of  outfits…”

"With that out of the way, I am pleased to announce that the Higuri Regalia has now begun taking in talented individuals looking to make their mark on the realm of high fashion. These 'Mythrite Apprentices' are fully sanctioned and supported by our company, and will be granted leave to contribute to future lines with their own approved creations. One of such is the lovely Hannish native you see to my left known as Izayoi T. Keer, or Izzy Sapphira. She has shown much promise in recent moons, and it has culminated in her genius being showcased for the first time in this new line. Specially marked pages within this line denote outfits invented by Miss Izayoi; we pray you are pleased with what she has made."

“As always, you may send all commission requests to either myself, Treasurer Susuna, Baroness von Suna, or any of my Head Secretaries if you are interested in receiving enlightenment.”

“Now, seeker of fashion - when you are prepared, you may turn this page, and learn why the Regalia’s motto is ‘Where There is Power in Beauty.’“  -Thiji Higuri

(Starting the day after this post, and every several days thereafter, a new set of attire or accessories will be showcased.  This will simulate the turning of a page whilst giving each piece ample time to be appreciated.)

Pg. 7: Dragonsong Robe

MODEL: Thiji sor Higuri

Against all odds and every circumstance, the Satrap of Radz-at-Han had successfully liberated his dearest sister from the horrors of the Thirteenth shard. In a poetic twist of irony, Lady Azdaja - who shepherded her erstwhile brother Vrtra throughout Etheirys's history - now walks (and flies) among the children of Thavnair in a new form. This was necessary, however, for Lord Vrtra would sacrifice one of his own eyes to grant his sister a corporeal body, that she may witness the hard work her brother had done in her centuries-long absence.

In commemoration of this incredible event, the Higuri Regalia and White Wings (@lizardywizard) would reconvene to deliberate on a design to close off their fashion line, and after many moons, they would come to a decision: an armored robe, woven with, and forged in, the most exquisite Hannish fabrics and metals, dyed in the smaragdine and sanguine hues of the two rulers of Radz-at-Han.

The Dragonsong Robe is the final piece to close off this dedication to the First Brood - finishing at long last with Azdaja. Made exclusively with Thavnairian materials, this Near Eastern ensemble provides both form and function; protection and mobility. Despite sharing likenesses of Lord Vrtra, this was intended as Ser Dione Averre wanted for this attire to serve as a symbol of the loving bond shared between kin. The two scaled leather strips of Vanadinite wrap around the wearer's chest, whilst an additional assortment of silvery scales coil the rest of the body.

Honoring their shared past, the robe is further adorned with a single armored pauldron, modeled after Lady Azdaja's former visage as a great wyrm. A clawed hand grasps the wearer's other shoulder in a protective gesture - a reminder of the devotion these two share, and a promise of safety as the two watch over one another. Two orbs of "Gilded Giantsgall" line the cuffs of each sleeve, shaped like a dragon's eyes that further honor the sacrifice of Lord Vrtra to assure his sister's safe return.

The Diamond Sultan himself, Thiji Higuri, was chosen as the model for this penultimate garb, and has been dubbed an emissary of dragonkind for his service. Despite being seldom seen in any colors that aren't ice blue or silver-white (least of all, red), such trifles are unfounded as the Dragonsong Robe plays a greater role not only in the realm of high fashion, but in the continued relations of man and dragon. As such, he has considered this a proud addition to his wardrobe.

Midgardsormr, Great Father of Dragons, may rest easier now knowing that half of his beloved kin yet live. The Dragonsong Robe is no doubt a welcome and satisfying conclusion to this clothing line, for Radz-at-Han prospers once more. Pick one up today and be honored in the annals of Hannish fashion - and be safe knowing that you are watched over and loved!

A Fashion Tycoon's Missive

A clear sky welcomes the arrival of dawn as the sun rises upon the greater region of Garlemald. The blustery arctic winds of northern Ilsabard are reduced to a mere zephyr, and its surviving denizens prepare to face what challenges may await them.

Within the fringes of Camp Broken Glass, three individuals stood vigil: each garbed in attire suited for the cold, but all bearing the symbol of a mythril blue shield flanked by angelic wings. This was the insignia of the Diamond Sultan's personal retinue of combat-ready maidservants - Lord Thiji's Angels.

Himmeya Twelvefist, Kaori Hanabira, and Swoztu Wuotwyrstwyn stood guard as they laid eyes upon a black-robed figure approaching from the Eblan Rime. The sound of beating wings soon followed, and they would turn their gazes upward to behold a curvaceous Duskwight female, gowned in the likeness of the Creator, trailed by a host of tiny magitek bits. Once within several yalms, the woman touched down upon the frosted earth, striding stately towards the Angels.

"Good Morning, Angels," she began.

"Good Morning, Princess Telphie," the Angels answered. The Magitek Maestra chuckled and waved her hand dismissively.

"Be at ease. I bring grand tidings, which I will explain later. For now, it is time we were off home."

"So soon, Princess?" Himmeya interjected with an arched brow. "Is our tour here finally over, then?" The cloaked figure gave a bow to Telphie before turning toward the three.

"My Ladies, if I may - Mamai's Vigil will be arriving shortly to receive you, during which it will send you all to Radz-at-Han. Our Lord Sultan has deemed our duties here fulfilled," the hooded Au Ra stated.

"With the situation in Garlemald well taken care of, and the newly-established trade agreement with Radz-at-Han, it is safe to say that this nation is well on its way to obtaining autonomy once more," Telphie followed, "and with the Ilsabard Contingent close by, our involvement grows less founded. Though I had served this nation for a time, I am satisfied in the work we have done to help these people build back better. And lest we forget, Miss Youmei and House Kyria has lent us their support as well, granting us a formidable ally in the Near East. She will be joining us in Radz-at-Han as well, further strengthening our bond!"

Swoztu and Kaori heaved sighs of relief as Himmeya gave a triumphant yell, eager to return to her fellow Angels - or perhaps eager to try out the spicy Thavnairian fare.

"I won't miss the cold, but it's small wonder Lord Thiji enjoys it so much," Swoztu commented as they accompanied Telphie back towards camp.

"And what of our hooded friend?" Kaori asked. "Will she not be joining us?"

"I am humbled by your offer, Lady Kaori," the mysterious Au Ra said, her head lowered, "but I must return to my own matters. Unfortunately, that is all I can say for now, but know that you've allies in the shadows..."

Not wont to pry further, Kaori simply gave a shrug and waved farewell to the mysterious individual, and soon they would part with Garlemald at long last...

WARNING: THIS NEXT PORTION OF THE STORY POST CONTAINS ELEMENTS PERTAINING TO THE CLIMAX OF GROWING LIGHT (Patch 6.5). IN HONOR OF THE SPOILER EMBARGO, IF YOU HAVE NOT CLEARED THE MAIN SCENARIO UP TO THIS POINT AND/OR ARE CONCERNED OF SPOILERS, IT IS ADVISED THAT YOU REFRAIN FROM PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER.

Pg. 31: Sardee Angler's Bolero

Finally rounding out the Disciples of the Land and the Hyogan Gallery at large is the Sardee Angler’s attire.  Once again showing practicality over aesthetic, this gear allows for easier movements whilst enjoying a day out in the open waters.  The attire still comes with all the necessary accouterments any budding Fisher could ask for.

Thalassa is the fishing rod of this set, and pays tribute to Llymlaen.  Made with Himvat materials, the sleek and elegant design aids in the reeling in of wavekin.  The line used is made of an extremely fine and tensile cord that glows an icy blue when the rod is extended, and when a lure is attached, imbues it with ice-aspected aether that assists in the hooking of wavekin, potentially freezing them as they continue biting the lure, and ultimately ensuring an easier catch.

Whether you’re relaxing at your favorite estuary, sailing the high seas, or just lulling away the long bells with some light conversation, the Sardee Angler’s attire will help add a nice topic and statement at any marine outing.  Catch some good wavekin, and look good while doing so!

Pg. 30: Sardee Herbologist's Vest

Our ever-dependable trailblazers and woodsmen were long overdue for a glow-up.  The Sardee Herbologist’s attire is the answer to that as aspiring Botanists can finally enjoy a place in the annals of high fashion.  The designs were inspired mainly by scarecrows from the limited instances in which the Diamond Sultan actually participated in All Saints’ Wake, and were given a wintry twist to things that established a unique image.

Theophrastus is the name dubbed to the tools of choice - the axe and scythe.  Inspired by the ancient farmers of Garlemald prior to the empire’s formation, these sleek and beautifully-crafted tools bring the power of Winter to your fingertips; foliage and crops cut by the scythe are coated in umbral ice discharged by the tool, allowing it to be preserved and increasing its lifespan, whilst the axe is capable of doing a similar job with materials claimed as a result of its swings.

The forests of Etheirys are yours to explore as you become one with nature in all its seasons (but Winter, especially).  Don the Sardee Herbologist’s attire and reap the benefits of fashion - and nature’s - bounty!

Pg. 29: Sardee Foreman's Doublet

Even the greatest of impacts can be made with even the simplest of designs.  Ringing through the mountains to bring credence to this statement is the Sardee Foreman’s Doublet.  Taking into account the brief stint he had as a mover of mountains (surprise!) The Diamond Sultan took a more simplistic approach to designing the Miner’s gear, preferring practicality over aesthetic.

The short-sleeved doublet allows for maximum freedom of movement while the gloves, helmet, and armored slacks and boots provide protection from errant debris.  What makes this set unique, however (other than its artifact tool, Plutus), is the lighting apparatus attached to the wearer’s hip.  Taking from knowledge gleaned from distant monster hunters, this cage houses tiny sentient vilekin that give off a warm, bluish-white glow, and can even detect certain veins of ore and minerals when directed, allowing the Miner an easier time during expeditions.  When danger is near, these vilekin will turn violet before retreating into their cage.

Along with the special fly cage, Plutus is the artifact pickaxe of this set.  Because of the materials used to create it, the pickaxe is capable of withstanding numerous impactful blows, hardening in response to that one would swear they were wielding diamonds.  This allows for easier subsequent swings.

No mountain high or valley low will be a match for those who don the Sardee Foreman’s attire.  Wield the power of high fashion and bring some aesthetic to the Disciples of the Land!

Pg. 28: Thandha Cuisinier's Apron

No self-respecting chef would dare set foot into their own establishment without looking the part.

The Thandha Cuisinier’s set will do just that with its simple yet practical design.  Woven primarily with Himvat Cloth, this set was inspired by renowned cooks from a bygone realm whose specialties lied with creating wondrous dessert dishes.

The Culinarian’s main tool of choice has been dubbed “Hestia”, and is an otherwise unassuming non-stick skillet inlaid with tiny ice-aspected gems to help regulate temperature and mitigate the inevitable - yet easily avoidable - circumstances of overcooking one’s food.  Much like most other skillets, this particular tool has a diamond-shaped imprint upon its surface, and the inner layer is made visible through a glimmering snowflake outline.  It is said to glow dimly when its magic is working.

The Thandha Cuisinier has been recommended by Abbiocco’s own proprietress as the gear set of choice, and will undoubtedly rival even the famed Bismarck and Last Stand combined.  And yes, what you see is no jest: the toque can be visibly worn by Viera and Hrothgar alike.  (Take that, Squeenix).

Taking a different approach to Carpentry, this outfit from the Hyogan Gallery takes from the Doman style.

Combining wintry splendour with traditional Far Eastern aesthetic, this entire ensemble is known as a “Pibianfu” - a special Doman garb composed of several layers.  The headpiece - simply known as the “Pibian” - is a vital part of this outfit as it designates the status of the wearer, be they artisan, noble, or even government official.

The Thandha Joiner’s Pibianfu blesses the wearer with the wisdom of a renowned Doman Carpenter by the name of Lu Ban, who was said to have ascended to godhood.  The icy artifact saw severs the aetherial bonds within the wood, and the resulting dust that forms is absorbed into the Himvat Mythril which composes the saw blade, empowering its aetherial signature while also mitigating the spread of errant specks of sawdust flying everywhere.

Doma makes its mark once more in the PiB Catalogue thanks to the ingenuity of the Diamond Sultan.  The Thandha Joiner’s Pibianfu is a wonderful addition to the haute couture realm, and a lovelier addition to a Carpenter’s wardrobe!  Any who gaze upon you in this as you create a woodworking marvel will undoubtedly come back for more.
