Trev became an Oathbreaker, and you know what? It's probably the best thing for Trevrant. All the anger and pain only for him and his friends to feel numb and empty? Letting it all go was probably the hardest thing for him.

At least that's how I chose to interpret my accidentally breaking his oath after the House of Grief, cause fuck it, character development!

At this point, whatever endings I get is the the endings I get and I can always draw up some fanfic version of my own first ending after save scumming so many times.

Oh I hate that so much. this isn't like twitter where if you spam like or just do anything in a couple of seconds it suspends you.

Or Instagram thinking your a bot cause of it or TikTok probably thinking that if YOU spam like.

Adding on my own but as long as it's a person and not some scammer or art stealer. I honestly don't mind spam likes to much.

Mostly cause I rarely get tagged or have other activities on my account anyways. It's not like it's blocking me from seeing anything else.

Posting since this is a response to a previous problem and response to previous asks about this problem.

Pssst if you have ublock: https://github.com/laylavish/uBlockOrigin-HUGE-AI-Blocklist

Unfortunately, even after installing the list recommended above, there is zero changes for the specific Serval search presented above.

This very obvious AI generated image still pops up even if you have other sites blocked because, presumably, short of blocking every single website except for personal blogs, you physically cannot circumvent it.

using the -AI in the search result at least gets rid of the obvious header image mentioned above, but the image results still slip through the grate.

we need to be teaching kids to identify AI images/articles and how to filter them....this is a massive misinformation issue beyond just what a cat looks like.

I was googling for foods toxic to dogs the other day and found a slew of articles that were pretty clearly ChatGPT generated, some with straight up incorrect information. This is dangerous not only for people but for people's beloved pets.

As someone who was a pretty big proponent of 'just google it' I'm now actually beginning to not recommend that option because hey.... that's no longer a simple and easy way to get solid information unless you know/are good at trawling through the website credits to figure out if they're legit or not. :/

Looks like Wattpad is having a NSFW purge. People are talking about it on r/wattpad and r/fanfiction. Anyone here use wattpad and notice? I wonder what the scale and criteria they are using is.

Oh boy. AO3, brace yourself!

And a thread on r/FanFiction.

I haven't had time to dig into them yet.

just looked into wattpad and at first sight I havent noticed any changes#they still have the lgbtq+ section and lots of gay smut. idk

And you won't. That's not how purges work.

What happens is that they hit a lot of individual works, frequently ones that don't even violate the guidelines, while failing to catch tons of equivalent works. When authors complain, they'll get no response or a highly ambiguous and useless one about what the problem was.

Because Wattpad hides the actual totals of works and has no comprehensive index, you'll never know how much was quietly deleted.

I've explained this before in a post about TikTok purging omegaverse content and/or hiding it from searches:

NSFW content is profitable. It is even profitable to the platforms that claim to ban it.

When platform conduct purges, their goal is not to eradicate nsfw content. Their goal is instead to make an example of just enough nsfw creators and purge just enough nsfw content to maintain their public-facing image of wholesome family-friendly respectability, while continuing to profit off the remainder of the nsfw content.

They make sure the porn-banning rule in their TOS defines porn vaguely enough to allow them to delete any content they want at any time for any reason. It's not about creating a safe kid-friendly space. It's about looking good to their shareholders and wielding power over their userbases.

This is why it is absolutely vital that Ao3 remain uncensored, and that we donate enough each year to keep the servers running, because it is literally the only place for fanfic that is not subject to the whims of the corporations that pay for advertising space.
