My grandmother and Robert Goulet. As promising young singers they often preformed at the same shows in the Edmonton area. Duets even!
I haven't shown my Grandma the SNL sketches so she doesn't really get why I find this all so funny. I told her a little about them but worried the real thing would weird her out.

Current Elliott manages to capture that girly meets tomboy vibe most of us wish we could pull off. These photos are from the Fall break of the coolest girls in your high school class; while you were at home stuffing yourself in front of the television they hitchhiked across state lines to rendezvous in one of their boyfriend’s cabin after they stole the key from his mother. Instead of painting their nails and catching up on their “fun” reading they spent their days sending their father’s boat to the bottom of the lake Ophelia-style and shooting cans with BB guns. They’ll be back in class on Monday with forged excuses to get them out of that paper they never did get around to writing, NRA applications, and a smug smile that says while they might have a rip in their jeans, they still know how to do that hair flip that makes all the boys stare…

Over the past decade, this simple arrangement has necessitated and allowed MLBAM to build itself into a video-streaming powerhouse. Very quietly, it has come to stream more live video than any other company on the planet, its servers dependably handling the load of tens of millions of viewers watching multiple broadcast feeds at the same time. If the entire country suddenly cancelled their cable and satellite service and switched to MLBAM technology for all of their live TV watching, one gets the sense the company is not far off from being able to handle it.
And that, after all, might just be the plan.
