One day you’re going to see her holding hands with someone who took your chance. She won’t even notice you because, she’s too busy laughing with the stupid jokes he makes. And it will burn your heart seeing that beautiful smile on her face and realizing that you’re not the reason anymore. And then it will finally hit you: it was her, it was always her.

“How can you stop loving someone?” You just can’t. Because this is the truth, it will continually live in you, and in order to survive, you must live with that fact. You have to keep going forward no matter how dire, tiring and hopeless the situation is. You have to take your time with this part and explore all your options to learn something meaningful everyday. Be patient with yourself. You have to wait for yourself to heal completely and grow the missing pieces. The rest will come in time.

One thing that scares me the most is to outgrow some of my friends. Those were the people who were a part of me and never, ever thought of losing them. I just want them to be with me along with this journey. However, I realized that having them is not healthy for my well-being. They’re not mad but everything of them has changed. Loyalty isn’t there anymore and honesty, they’ll be waiting for it to use them against me, to destroy me. It pains me to let go of them but it’ll be worse if I keep them. This is how you outgrow friends; let go or see yourself low.

Maybe sometimes, we are the ones breaking our own hearts. We walk into a situation, get attached to someone all by choice. And then we let them break our hearts, because we’re the ones who gave them the opportunity to.
