Hey guys! Sorry for delaying but since I'm still a bit busy rendering some hours at my old job before I resign, I decided to push the opening for a bit.
Opening date would be on 12.5.21 instead! ✨ It would also allow me to add a few more merch for the shop!

Do you consider KDJ and YJH's relationship queerbait? They're devoted to one another in complicated ways and neither seems to have an endgame pairing so I don't feel qieerbaited (I am bisexual myself lol). I complain about queerbaiting in other things a lot but I didn't think there was anything wrong with not including explicit romance in an apocalyptic tragedy.
Sorry if I just saw this (dunno if this ask was here for a while lol), and to answer your question I don't think Joongdok is queerbaiting at all. Trust me, I experienced too much queerbaiting in my life lol.
So let's say technically speaking, most cases of queerbaiting happen when the story hints about a certain (queer) relationship heavily and ends up giving us something completely different (enter canon het couple that does not even makes sense). In the case of Joongdok, the hints were indeed heavy but in the end though, they did not disappoint us by suddenly making YSA/KDJ canon or even HSY/KDJ (in which case it would make a bit of sense storywise). In fact, in the end we finally saw how much YJH reciprocated KDJ's devotion to him.
Though their relationship is not explicitly introduced as romantic, the way they regarded each other throughout the story (including the relationships of the different versions of themselves), in my mind there is honestly no question that these two people are soulmates in every sense of the word.
Let's not forget how poetic it is that YJH was the reason KDJ decided to continue living while KDJ is the sole purpose for YJH's whole existance. How else can you explain that without acknowledging how deep their bond is with one another?
Also I agree with you. They did not have to be explicitly canon as well, especially considering the genre of the story. I think the authors ended the story perfectly. There's something about ambigous endings that really hits you and with a story like orv, it just makes sense.

Heyooo, I rarely go to tumblr so sorry if this reply is late.
I sometimes draw KDJ with blond hair 'cuz he becomes a canon blondie at some point in the novel (eventually in the manhwa as well but it will take a long, loooong time). Not going to spoil too much about it but just know that it happens and most of us in the fandom call him Blondja! 💖
