“Maybe from someone other than you. Everything you do excites me.” His lips quirked up and he nodded. “Thank you. For your faith. Tomorrow. Like you said.”

He tilted his head, and looked up thoughtfully as Starlight played with his hair. “No. What would I do after that once you were filled up and finished with my love? Then I’d truly be bored. No, I’ll just have to make sure I’m always leaving you wanting more.” He caught Starlight’s hand in his own and intertwined their fingers. “I love you.”

“You’re permitted to feel how you feel.” Rory leaned his head on Starlight’s shoulder. “Your thoughts don’t need to be dire to be worth telling me. They’re important to me. If you worry about Tasena Maut, then we shall visit him. If you need company, I will provide it. We could go out for a nice dinner together, if that would please you?”

Rory has a very high opinion of himself. It's deserved in the sense that he is a literal deity with reality bending power, but it warps his understanding of praise. From his lovers and good friends who he views as equals he interprets it as flirting and he will flirt in return. From all others he interprets it as them being in awe of him which he tends to find cute, like a compliment from a child. He would probably react with an indulgent smile and a compliment in return.

Rory tends to dismiss any criticism from anyone who isn't his husband or one of his chosen people. It means nothing to him. From his husband he does take it very seriously, he would feel shame for having failed so badly Starlight would have to speak up and he will either hastily try to fix the problem or he will open up a discussion if he is not convinced he was completely wrong. If his people scold him he will take it on board and change what he agrees with, but he won't usually do so openly in front of them.

Taz loves praise. He's high energy and will bask in kind words. He'll find praise wherever he can get it, even in something intended to be an insult and gleefully mentally apply it to himself like a badge of honor. He has quite high self esteem in most aspects of his life and compliments and praise are the cherry on top. If its praise from a family member he may be flustered because he thinks of himself as quite far down the family scale of importance, but he tries to take it more genuinely.

Taz will usually sulk and pout when he is scolded. He will make a big deal out of it and try to convince the scolder they are wrong. He doesn't usually take any personal criticisms to heart as his self confidence is very strong, but he thinks its rude and wants to fish for sympathy and compliments to make it better again. He is very impulsive so he gets himself into messes requiring scolding a lot but since he rarely actually takes them seriously to heart he doesn't learn.

Inca doesn't expect kind words from anyone so if they are not words praising him in a sexual manner then he assumes its a trap and will quickly get hostile. He's always suspicious. If you convince him you are genuine then he will probably just give a nod and be quietly pleased. Praise is nice but it doesn't mean much to him. Its just words.

Inca reacts violently to scolding. He'll bare his teeth, flare his wings, threaten you with poisoning. He sees it as a power move over him, or an attempt to control him. If he's been talked around to it he may grudgingly accept constructive criticism, but actual scolding is an out.

“Thievery. You have claimed to have stolen all parts of me. Does it still excite you?” He was amused and lightly traced Starlight’s lips with his fingertips. His husband was ever changing and growing but this one quirk was eternal. No matter how much Rory gave his lover claimed to have stolen. Perhaps that was the point.

“Our- oh yes.” That vaguely puzzled look was in his eyes again. It felt like a monumentous effort to pull his mind off course from the heavy weight of his power and his duty, back to simpler and less godly concepts. “Yes. You must miss them. Well. There are many worlds to inspect. Or do you want us to go back to yours?” His own was out of the question, that collapsed reality was barely a memory now.
