stop reblogging reposters, PLEASE

honestly, it sucks so bad when i see reposters on my dash. i’m tired of their crusty asses. and it is so easy to tell who’s a reposter, especially when you are on your desktop. plus, you can easily spot a reposter and who’s not.

  • if it’s a compilation of different gif styles
  • if the sizes of the gif (for example) aren’t the same, because 99% of gifmakers make their gifs the same size
  • if the gifs/edits/art works are watermarked with marks that obviously aren’t the “op's“
  • read the “op's” tags and if it says shit like “bts smut“ and it doesn’t even have anything to do with the oc
  • also if there tag members that aren’t on the gifset because especially big gif makers don’t use tags that don’t relate to the conent itself
  • if there is no indication that its theirs, like, a tag “#mygif“, “#mine“ or something like that

then, my dudes, it’s most likely reposted content. also when someone calls a reposter out don’t just ignore it.

!! and if it says “credits to the owner” or some nasty shit like that it’s NOT crediting, just to clarify this !!

anyways, it’s not like my work gets reposted super often or anything, but just seeing it annoys me so much and i always have the urge to tell the person who reblogged the repost that it is one. so just, be careful what you reblog (i know it sucks but it literally doesn’t take that much time), because content creators put a lot of effort into what they do and reposters, obviously, don’t.

sometimes…taking kpop too seriously…is worse

since there’s apparently some sort of confusion on the matter (read: people are idiots)

i am seeing a lot of reposting lately, so here i am reblogging my own post. also, reverse google tends to only work for stuff like deviantart or twitter, so if you want to find a pixiv artist, use saucenao.

i cannot stress this enough, y’all need to stop supporting blogs that steal art. i don’t care how pretty the art is or how badly you want it on your blog.

This might come as a shock to some of you but saying “I’m not informed enough on this particular topic to have an opinion” is about 100 times more respectable than being misinformed

on kpop and the health of idols

I think there’s some shit going on in the kpop world that needs talking about a whole lot more.

the ignoring of unhealthily low weights in the kpop industry and among fans is real, it’s been going on for a long time, and it needs to stop.

stop idolising grossly underweight idols for their beauty and stop shaming them when they’re a healthy weight.

wendy, among other members from red velvet, was fat shamed incessantly back in 2016. this is wendy just this month during their comeback:

I’m not body shaming wendy. she’s a beautiful girl and extremely talented. but she has dieted to the point where she is scarily underweight and in legitimate danger if she continues on like this. her agency monitors what she eats and she’s in a seriously bad situation. her fellow members even apparently said on a recent tv show that they’ve “never eaten a full meal with wendy”. that’s incredibly, incredibly fucked up.

on a side note, joy’s not looking so healthy and happy either:

Image

this is really fucked up you guys!! I’m genuinely worried for wendy but there are still a whole lot of fans who worship her rather than encouraging her to get the help she clearly needs. the comments on their comeback mv should be flooded with worry about wendy but instead they’re flooded with comments about beating blackpink at inkigayo.

and speaking of blackpink, lisa is also dangerously underweight in their comeback this year, which hasn’t been noticed as much:

just a reminder that ribs showing on a girl of lisa’s height and age ISN’T NORMAL.

according to her company, oh my girl’s jinE also took a break from promotions last year to cope with anorexia which was somehow completely unexpected among a lot of fans??

you should expect anorexia and associated health issues among your faves. most idols are unhealthily underweight for their age, height and body type anyway. it’s gotten to the point that girls with a healthy bmi and normal body type like pristin’s kyla and (before losing weight) twice’s jihyo are considered abnormal or fat by some people and especially the idols’ agencies.

kyla is beautiful and has a perfectly healthy bmi. I’m happy many people are supporting her but there’s still a long way to go. more people should be calling out the companies, not just hateful antis, for holding thin girls as a beauty standard and even restricting the diets of certain groups.

as someone who’s had an eating disorder for quite some time, it’s super scary to me that people only start getting concerned for their favourite idols when ribcages start showing. they’re often not a healthy weight in the first place.

a reminder for nonasian people

you know… with this rise in interest in east asian culture and “aesthetics” over the past couple of years also comes with a rise in asian cultural appropriation… so for every nonasian out there who would consider themselves a fan of cutesy asian things or stuff like kpop or anime, you guys have an obligation to people of the culture you’re enjoying to be informed and educated about their struggles. it’s not right to love and consume cultures that’s not your own while ignoring the people who are part of them. read up on appropriation, the fetishisation and infantilisation of east asian women and desexualisation of asian men, whitewashing in media, xenophobia, the erasure of our achievements and the model minority myth. you owe it to us east asians to be educated on topics that concern us if you’re going to continue to consume media and content we make.

EDIT: if you’re nonasian please reblog this so that other nonasians can see it!!

Okay, I understand this isn’t meant to be ‘racist’ in any way and people probably won’t understand why Korean people are triggered by this…. But this seriously undermines and kind of appropriates the highly traditional and intricate naming process in Korea that results in beautiful and unique names that carry their own special meanings and really enables individuals to establish filial connections with their family members or even their ancestors. Believe it or not, most Korean grandparents and parents don’t randomly choose characters that 'sound pretty together’ to create a name for their grandchildren and children. I get that it’s cool to see what your name could be in Korean, but please appreciate and don’t appropriate, guys.

Note to Kpop fans

Stop adding ’-eu-’ to a sentence because it’s disrespectful and you’re mocking an idols accent.

FUCKING EXACTLY^ stop saying things like, “omg my hearteu” the shits not funny.

only reblog if you're e and/or se asian

youre honestly kidding yourself if you dont think weeaboos and koreaboos yellowfacing affects actual e and se asian people. a lot of people think actual mixed kids are faking their race because there are people lying about being asian for their fetish, and the stereotyping of e and se asian people deems people who dont look a certain way as not asian. actual asian people are told they aren’t asian, but there are racists who are praised for “looking asian” when theyre not. yellowfacing follows this strict stereotype of what an east asian person looks like. it perpetuates the idea that there is only one way for them to look, so when actual east and southeast asian people don’t meet this oversexualized and infantilized stereotype of who they’re “"supposed to be,”“ they are met with backlash. they are invalidated for being an actual 3-dimensional human being and not a petite pretty stereotype.

and no matter how you want to twist it, using a non-white person’s race as a costume will always be racist/horizontally aggressive.
