so i’ve been screencapping from gambit’s solo series and just started on vol. 3 and. we have to talk about a few things.

the plot of the first one is basically ‘oh hey guy who’s like a brother to me came back to warn me and died, time to go home to find out what’s going on with the fam’. cool, fine. pretty standard gambit stuff, his wife is apparently alive but dying, tithe dude is out collecting, assassins and thieves are skirmishing but also there’s some non-violence pact.

then it just...accelerates full blast with a long life elixir with three vials bouncing around everywhere, candra being an external who masterminded the founding of the guilds and also had a thing with remy ( sidenote: i get that the comics have history, i do. everyone’s been with everyone but in his solo run in just 8 issues he’s had. a lot of lovers/love mentions. like, wow. we get it, he’s super cool. guess it really was a different time. ).

except.

what is that hair? look at it.

this second image (bed hair) isn’t part of the hair exhibit so much as...look at how much hair. he’s like a mop dog it’s everywhere.

oh right. so this is part of vol. 2 where. things get. crazy? so gambit tries to steal a cross, hallucinates a healer from back home telling him to do ‘gods work’ and. then he crosses paths with an angel??? and fights off a demon and a shitload of demons to get this girl to rome and then???? turns out she wasn’t that important when compared to saving this nun who he left behind in a fire and got all cray with one of the demon dudes????

i’m just. i’ve been hit in the face with so many religious overtones and undertones and i have no idea how to make sense of vol. 2. what a ride. but also gambit with bedhead.

and naked playing cards in his own bed waiting for marcelo to come by asking for katrina. ~~what a beautiful dweeb~~.

more crazy hair. also a small taste into the fiasco i was talking about if you read the little card blurbs.

OH RIGHT. THIS COSTUME. THIS FREAKING COSTUME. what is this??? also the start of this volume has him blowing up the head of a t-rex so. looks like things can get more interesting for gambit. i’ve only read the first few pages but i’m guessing savage land??? but also. a t-rex. what even.

Hi all.

In light of some pretty devastating news, I’ve been a bit all over the place. I can’t begin telling you what he meant to me and how I’ll miss him. I hope he knows that...but I’m not going further into detail here. I wrote down my thoughts last night and today I sent them into his blog.

I’m not sure why, but I feel compelled to finish up the things I promised him (and the surprises I had planned that he didn’t know about but would be getting from me). So, basically, blacklist the tag @cajunwithcards if it’s morbid or something you’d rather not see right now. So I don’t forget anything this time around, I’m making a list here:

nova and kerrigan meta from ages ago that i forgot about until going through our chats...will definitely take the longest and the most research to do.

Everything else is sort of on hold as I work my way through this list. I will still aim to get everyone’s halloween surprises out around the holiday (might need an extra week, however) as I can’t bear the thought of letting anyone else down with my procrastination. So, if you sent in a thing/i told you to expect something from me, you’ll see it sort of soon.

As for activity...I don’t know. This blog helped me with a lot of similar things way back when as it was good to leave it all behind and project happiness and try to find and connect with that. However, this blog has a lot of memories, too, in this case and it’s such a bittersweet place to be right now so it may be that I’ll spend more time writing on my new blog in a new fandom and take a break here. I’m not sure yet. I feel so lost right now so I’m just going to take it as it comes.

You may see me, you may not. Sorry for the abruptness as I know I had a lot planned with a lot of people but...my heart’s not in it right now. Hmu on skype if you want to talk (and be patient with me if I’m taking my time there too). I know I’ll be okay, I’ve survived this before but. It’s a huge blow and I’m still coming to grips with a lot of it.

OOC | Important

It breaks my heart to tell you that Andre, the mun behind @cajunwithcards, @wingedxworthington, and @loveofspiders passed away on September 22.

I waited so long to say something because, first and foremost, I didn’t want it to be real. Then, after I went to his funeral and it started to hit me that it is real, I couldn’t find the words.

Dre was my best friend. We met because we were both chronically ill, and became close through our shared experiences and, among other things, a mutual love of Marvel and Star Wars, and other geeky things. When I found out he once belonged to a Star Wars RP forum, I convinced him to jump into the world of Tumblr RP, first through a Marvel group, then indie. RP provided him with a creative outlet and an escape from his illnesses. It gave him a way to connect when he was too sick to leave his house, or bored at the doctor or hospital.

I’m letting all of you know this because he cared about his RP partners, IC and OOC. He cared about all the blogs he followed, whether or not he wrote something with them (y’all don’t know how many texts I got at 3am saying ‘OMG did you see Soandso’s thread with Suchandsuch?!’). I believe he would want you to know that, and know that he wouldn’t have just left his blogs and threads without saying goodbye if he had a choice in the matter.

I believe he would also want to thank everyone who interacted with him for the way you improved his life. He hid his pain extremely well. I was privileged to be privy to more of it than most people, and I want to thank the Tumblr RP community from the bottom of my heart for providing him some respite from his struggles.

Andre was a very private person, and he expressed a desire to keep the details of his health private on Tumblr. He wanted this piece of his life to be unaffected by his health, so I feel uncomfortable posting details publicly in this post, but if you were one of his RP partners or mutuals, you’re welcome to message me for more info, here or through skype (holorp).

I’m positive that I will accidentally leave out people, but I’m going to try to tag some of the people I know Andre followed and/or RPed with, and hopefully this will make its way around and be seen by everyone Dre would want to see it.

I KNOW I’m missing people, so please forgive me; I promise I’m not leaving anyone out on purpose.

just did a massive overhaul to my rules !! it’s mostly the same ( just written better ) but with a few key differences that i’ll outline here until people get the chance to read through it.

as of today, i will not answer reblogged asks. if you want to continue an ask, that’s cool !! just make it into a new post please & thank !!
I’ve included an updated list of mains & exclusives. i think i’ve forgotten a lot of who i was mains with so there will be a new call if you want to go mains w/ me. exclusives are limited to ships ( more below ).
i am singleship per verse. what does that mean? go to the verses page. there are many verses, some of which i’ve developed ships in. that will be the only ship i’ll have in that particular verse to both give me and my partner adequate space to develop and grow it.
similarly, i will not ship with different versions of the same character. i don’t expect this to be reciprocated but, personally, I think it’s just nicer this way. i’ll still roleplay with them of course…but no shipping. ( the only exception to this being to lance blogs because he’s such a big part of her actual canon that it seems silly to deny such a huge chunk of their past to other lances? although i suspect i’ll have to make an exception for the 616 verse too, given the history she has and how all-encompassing that verse is….but we’ll cross that bridge when it becomes an issue. )
i’ve updated the faceclaims list, most of which were outdated/i didn’t use anymore.
i’ve put up updated ooc obligations info. basically, what my life is outside of tumblr now and expected activity levels.
