Well, I haven’t been here in forever. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve lost writing muse for Somaris.

Not that she’s a bad muse. I still love her, and I still want to do art with her etc. But I just don’t know if I can move her character forwards and have her grow. Right now she’s a super clean slate, and unless I can get something to happen, I doubt this blog’s gonna go anywhere. And without character development, everything just feels so stale to me. I just can’t write her knowing she’s probably going to go in circles forever. I feel like I’m not doing her justice.

So for the time being, consider this a permanent hiatus. You can find me at my other blogs, Vriska and Nidalee.

I’m so sorry I haven’t been online in a long time. I’ve been really bogged down by schoolwork lately, but that will change in about a week’s time! I’ll get to replies then, I promise!

What is Somaris's favorite food?

“We don’t get much of it, but jellyfish is really good.”

As the big child he was, Rakan also stuck his tongue out at her, even looking and turning away, faking disgust before he laughed and turned back. When she spoke about the prince though, he raised an eyebrow. He had no idea of who she was talking about but, oh well!
Your prince got nothing on me! He might be a prince, but I’m Rakan.

Somaris laughed and extended a hand to him. “Prince Sidon is a sight to behold,” She sighed almost dreamily. “He is much taller than I, genes that have been passed to him through the line of royalty. He is strong and smart, and incredibly skilled with a bow. Everyone in the domain wishes to be a part of his life, but alas, I am just a simple dancer.”

She looked towards the village before grinning back at him. “Shall we entertain some people?”

{} — As she poked her head out of the stream, Rakan merely gave her a wave of his hand as he stood just outside of the village. The sly bird had just gotten there, but he was a damn good actor and was doing his best to look like he was not tired. Sure, running wasn’t as hard for him for his birdlike feet and leap abilities, but it still had been kind of a long way.

Well, he got here before her. She wasn’t even mad, but she stuck her tongue out at him playfully as she hauled herself out of the water. Droplets clung to her skin and fins as she walked over to him. Upon closer inspection, she noticed the subtle heaving of his chest and smirked, though she didn’t comment.

“I would like to see how fast you are while racing our prince,” She grinned, referencing the tall shark zora that literally every zora she knew admired. “He is so much faster than I.”

And there she goes…
{ ☀ } — Rakan stared at the stream for a short while, before reminding himself that, shit he was supposed to be running, right? Turning around immediately, the Vastaya grinned as a yellowish aura surrounded him, and he bolted towards the village.

As she swum she was reminded that she was, unfortunately, a slower swimmer than many other Zora she knew. She’d seen the Prince swim, and she was astounded by his speed in the water. Because of the way her fins were made, she was much slower and much better at drifting with the currents than actively swimming. Still, she was much faster than the average Hylian, and she reached the village in no time.

She poked her head out of the stream to see if she’d lost to him.
