Doing my own fun little challenge, where I let the wheels decide the ship and trope mashup. Then I write a ficlet under 500 words for.

They had never been very good at staying apart.
Even back beforeβ¦ theyβd started, there had been a draw between them. Even when they were part of separate organizations, they had always been aware of each other. A pair of stars, orbiting around each other, neither able to escape the otherβs gravitational pull.
It had been part of the reason Caroline had agreed to the alliance between their families. A temporary cease fire that would stop the death, and all she had to do was marry him.
Caroline had fully intended to fuck him out of her system, and then, once the cease fire was done, she would divorce him and be over it all.
And thatβs exactly what she had done.
Exceptβ¦ it hadnβt worked out that way. Sure, she had gotten the divorce. She had gone back to being his enemy. But she had very much been lying to herself, when sheβd said she was over it all.
Because right now, she was holding the smoking gun that had just shot her father in the back of the head, staring at Klaus across his corpse.
βTheyβre probably going to blame me for that,β Klaus noted idly. His tie was loose around his neck, his hair a bit messy. Heβd been drinking. Caroline knew, because sheβd been watching him. She had been the one to tell her father where he would be.
He was the one she was supposed to have shot.
βIt wonβt really matter,β Caroline finally said, lowering the gun, knocking the safety into place. βIβm the only one he trained to take over. The only blood my family will spill, will be the blood I want spilled.β
βHmm,β Klaus mused, carefully stepping around Billβs body. Caroline appreciated that, that he didnβt disrespect the corpse in any way. He had been her father, after all. βAnd if itβs not my blood, Caroline, then what do you want?β
She wasnβt sure what she would say, but Klaus clearly didnβt care for an actual answer. Instead, he swept in, kissing her until she couldnβt breathe and her head felt light.
When they finally pulled apart, her hands were clutching at his hair, and his eyes were burning as he all but undressed her with his eyes.
And in that moment, she knew what she wanted.
βMarry me,β she said. βAgain.β
She kissed his yes off of his lips.
