hey, do y’all know what a line of beauty is? it’s not that much on the internet these days but it’s a commonly known trick of sign-painters, letterers, and other old masters of those who hand-painted signs and decorations of signs. it’s like a horizontal S, but stretched out, and can be anything from decorative arrangements to sign words, to decorations around them, to individual parts of decorative curly patterns.

line of beauty 5  or 4 were often chosen as the most beautiful decorations for text, and in scrollwork and art in general, throughout western written history, because there’s just something about those symmetrical gentle curves that appeals to a person’s eye and idea of beauty. these are graphical commercial artist ideals of beauty that have existed for at least 600 years.

now, look at this picture of Joshua Hong, at his eyes and lips.

his eyes are a 3 on the Line of Beauty diagram, his lips a 5. he’s perfectly symmetrical and his skin is flawless (evidence of health, a big thing in beauty to even modern humans) and his lips, eyes and facial structure are perfectly balanced with a symmetrical balanced nose, and his eyes and lips complement each other in a way that almost seems architectural, with matching windows and door - they curve and are cohesive perfectly together.  this might just be, by every measure across the world taken on average, the most perfect faced boy.
