So since we are all sharing our "lovely" Kylux experiences with antis, let me just say that someone had the audacity to call me a Nazi. Me. A Jewish person. A Nazi. Because of a ship I ship. Like, fuck, I know they are people who have done terrible things but I am an adult who can differentiate between enjoying well written villains and condoning their actions; which I don't. The antisemitism is strong with this fandom.

That’s just wrong. When you told me some time ago I couldn’t believe it. It was the first time I really knew that people were calling the shippers that. First, it was the kylux shippers who adressed Hux as their space hitler, space nazi, that’s wrong too. But I’m sure that it can be changed easily, I know that isn’t meant to be the way it is. I just wanted to mention that because it really bothers me sometimes.

But then, it comes the part were people assume we are something horrible just for the fact that they think of a character in a way he is not. And they expect us to be racists, homophobics -I don’t understand that part, look at the ship we are shipping please they are more gay than me- and part of that horrible thing that were the nazis.

Look, I know what it looked like, Hux’s speech. Am I going to suport that if a handsome boy threathens with destroying my planet and kill my family? Of course no. But this is fiction. FICTION. That’s not going to happen. We are shipping the characters, not supporting what they stand for.

And calling that without stopping to think about the person you are insulting, it’s wrong and ignorant. Anyone who uses the term Nazi just for fun or to insult something they don’t like, they are ignorants in the issue.

It really makes me angry, all of this Nazi issue. You don’t know how many times my grand-grandfather has taught me about the war, the spanish civil war and the second world war. He lived horrible things. And I won’t stand anyone choosing to use that words slightly.

Please, please people, stop a moment and think whenever you want to use that words to insult. And think if it’s correct or not. When you meet a real neo-nazi o pro nazi, then use that word as much as you want.

Like you said, theantisemitism is strong with this fandom.

I will have to reblog that, because it is very important. The term “Nazi” should never be used lightly, because it stands for some very serious issues that cost a lot of people their lives and had terrible repercussions for all the countries under their rule/invaded by them. 

A guy in a fictional universe isn’t a Nazi just because he makes an impassioned speech. That kind of rhetoric you can get from any dictator, anywhere in the world, any time period. 

Please be more considerate and aware that terms like this one hold different weight in different parts of the world, and don’t use them lightly to insult someone.

If like to point out that, in more that one interview, Domhnall Gleeson has said that while yes, some of the aesthetics of the First Order are based on 1940s Germany, he actually based the tenor of his speech on certain British politicians at the time. He says that even in the U.K. there were these very scary politicians who talked like this.

So that’s something to consider.

I have always imagined the American magical community in Harry Potter to be significantly less… structured than that of Britain. America is just so big, and the states can be so different, and history is so fucked up and complicated that a whole secret society with a completely separate government and people who’re totally clueless about the muggle world just makes no sense to me.

American wix participate in general elections and watch tv and their kids go to muggle school during the day and learn magic at home or in after-school programs and play quidditch and football and only your great grandma has owls while everyone else just has a phone and generally don’t obliviate muggles who see magic shit bc lol who’s gonna believe them anyway.

And European wix haaaate dealing with them bc they won’t do things the Proper Magical Way they just do whatever the fuck they want bc AMERICA FUCK YEAH.

And then you’ve got the Pennsylvania Dutch and Native American nations and New Orleans and other areas where large swathes of the population are like, “Well duh there’s magic. Hugh down at the end of the street lays hexes on my vegetable garden for the kids who keep trying to steal them and I give him a bag of tomatoes every month.”

#like it’s not offensive in the same way#but it’s patently obvious JKR doesn’t understand American or its history at all#and yeah#no way would american magic-users consent to that kind of structure

@monstermoonshine and i once talked about this extensively and decided that the american wizarding government should be called FBOM, the federal bureau of magic, with the O left in for Humor Purposes

So after like 3 months, I’ve finally finished this sword. There were so many problems and set backs… but in the end, it all turned out to be a great learning process. Now I can add another layer to detail to future projects.

I finally finished this. It had been sitting in my folder for ages. A modern au where Kylo and Hux are married. Featuring:

  • dance mom Hux (the little girl does ballet)
  • Kylo Ren helping the eldest son make a catapult for a school project and breaking a window by accident
  • Godmother Phasma (nuff said)
  • The Knights of Ren being the weird babysitters (and they dote on the kids too much)
  • Grandpa Han and Grandma Leia spoiling the kids rotten
  • Brendol Hux Senior teaching the youngest son how to play chess and he ends up being a chess wizard
  • Hux going to parent teacher meetings because the eldest son keeps pulling shenanigans 

As you can tell I put too much thought into this. I still couldn’t name the kids tho because I’m bad at names.
