Ik she was probably much older than Naveen, but they would have made a great couple, they are so much alike: always in a good humor despite their health problems. And the way they both talk to Ethan is so funny.

I loved the Friends reference, one of my favorite shows. And the episodes where they all find out are the best: especially when Joey finds out first ( the look on his face 😁) and then when Phoebe tries to seduce Chandler. Those scenes never get boring.

A/N: Inspired by this weekend’s OPH Book Club replay, this fic is set in Book 1, chapter 11. This is what I hc happens before Cassie and Ethan meet up with Naveen at the start of the chapter.
When Cassie Valentine was six years old, she heard a story that would change her life forever. She and her brother Max were staying with their grandparents in Newport while their parents were on a second honeymoon.
She missed them terribly and had a hard time sleeping those first few days, so her grandmother decided to tell them stories from their family that had been passed down for generations.
They were all about how each person met their soulmate and Cassie loved them. Max, being the boy that he was, thought they were gross and would tease his sister by making fake kissing sounds after they were tucked in for the night.
Cassie didn’t care. Her young, romantic heart wanted what other Valentines before her had no trouble finding.
“When Valentines meet their one true love,” her grandmother would say, “it’s for life.”
This was so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.💕💕💕

It's gotten awfully quiet here at the book club and I'm late with this myself. I'm so excited about the Miami chapter this weekend, I'm looking forward to reading a lot of posts here.

I don't think it is a coincidence, that he can't help the people he loves. He is so used to act focused and rational that the affection for a patient is clouding his judgment.
With every other patient I'm sure he would have insisted on an immediate surgery, but with Dolores he couldn't be that strict.
The same with Naveen: First he agrees to that stupid arrangement, that nobody should know about his condition and he hides him in the hospital. And then the fear of loosing his mentor and father figure just blocks his thoughts and makes it impossible to find a cure.

In one earlier replay, I told the Roomies it was Banerji. When you do that, this scene changes in that MC feels guilt for betraying his trust.
I chose it once bc I was curious, but never again. I can't betray him like this.

Naveen is the best!!! And the ending was brilliant💕💕
I love their dynamic: Ethan always knows what Naveen is about to say, but Naveen says it anyway. He is such a tease. And one of the few people who dares to speak to Ethan like that. He's still his mentor, but more in a personal way.

What the hell made me pick Landry when the camera was on MC? I never did this before and was just curious. (I forgot to screenshot his dorky face and his stammering.) I really couldn't bring myself to kiss him. Uggh! Rather missed the option 'punch him'
