One of my favourite english words is "lackluster". It combines the beautiful, resonant, historical kind of air, an ancient and poetic sort of weight and colour, and the absolute baby brain logic of equating something with energy, conviction and vibrancy with something being shiny. Like yeah dude I saw your recital and I don't want to be too harsh but it was so inspid and uninspired that it was like looking at an object that isn't even sparkly. 3/10 would not put into my mouth again.

Not being captured by the fae folk, not taken against their will but stubbornly walking in to their realm and refusing to leave before one of them agrees to take this damn creature. Faeries telling each other "naww come on, you can't make it leave, it already ate your food. Everyone knows you gotta keep them if you've fed them."

probably shitty worldbuilding idea: fantasy world that keeps going

they keep sending out expeditions to try and map the whole world and figure out if it's round or flat or what but it just keeps going and they keep meeting new people who've met other people coming the other direction and everybody so far has found that it just keeps going
