The Thank You Mass Effect campaign is over! [#thankyoumasseffect]

We just really want to thank everyone who participated (this goes for all platforms!) We also want to thank mod SofaJockey of BSN for the help.

Here are some links if you want to read everything posted for N7 Day:

It was incredibly lovely seeing all your posts, tweets, messages, creative works and discussions. In the end, the volume of posts and tweets etc was a bit more than we were able to keep on top of in terms of the reblogging and cross-posting (particularly when it came to tweets), so we do apologize if you didn’t see your message being posted or cross-posted. ♡ If you're curious about the impact of our campaign, we didn't trend BUT we did have some cool people liking and/or retweeting tweets from our campaign (Mark Meer, Tom Taylorson, Fryda Wolff, Casey Hudson, Mac Walters), which is awesome! Our campaign was also mentioned in this article from TechRaptor: “We Made It.” Celebrating Ten Years of Mass Effect.” Shoutout to linksocarina for that and his neat article in general.

What’s next now? @emmavakarian-theirin is running her Thanks Mass Effect campaign from N7 Day through til November 16 (which would mark the 10th anniversary of Mass Effect). Don’t hesitate to participate! More info here

A little late, but…

Thank you Mass Effect, for Ryder.

Don’t get me wrong. Shepard is awesome, a total badass, and a model of determination and strength in the darkest times.

But I honestly felt so much more connection with Ryder than I ever did with Shepard. Shepard is a highly trained soldier and ready for their challenges. Ryder, on the other hand, is pretty much the opposite. Ryder was almost totally unprepared for their role, and had a lot of high expectations placed on them suddenly. And having them overcome all those obstacles and succeed despite endless doubt really hit home for me.

So thank you, Mass Effect, for showing me that no matter how unprepared I feel, no matter how much I feel like I’m not good enough, I can still succeed and overcome the challenges in my life.

makasiinirotta: why i'm thankful for mass effect:
- it made me meet new friends: the Normandy crew, who are there for me, whether i'm happy or sad or both at the same time (aka the citadel dlc aka the best dlc ever made).
- it showed me that home comes in many forms, in unexpected circumstances.
- it showed me you can relate to video game characters who aren't even human/don't look human (honestly, if you'd told me three years ago that i'm going to fall in love with two aliens that look like dinosaurs, one that looks like a frog but with teeth and one that doesn't ever take her mask off and is extremely germophobic, i wouldn't have believed you).
- it showed me that there IS hope for it to get better, i just have to believe in it. ("In the darkest hour, there is always a way out." - Urdnot Bakara)
- it gave me shepard, who for me is the biggest source of inspiration i've ever encountered. she reminds me that if something seems impossible, you make it possible; that it always pays to be kind and offer to help, despite the situation; that i don't have to do everything alone, that it's okay to ask for help.
it's so hard to explain what this series and its characters mean to me and why i love it so much in a single post. it has changed my life forever and i honestly can't imagine my life without it; it will always be part of me, one way or another. and while i hope we get more of this series, i'm grateful for what it has already given to me and so many others. (i cried like five times writing this lol)
