Donatello X Reader
Summary: Request: Originally based on “Ways to Break My Heart” by Ed Sheeran but it got healthier
A/n: Apparently I appear every Christmas and rewrite an old prompt. And now that I'm older and healthier, it's kinda fun. And y'all were right, we're not about to be a rebound. So, for my dear @witchancunin, I hope you don't mind that it's been four years.
Autumn was settling in. With the wave after wave of rain that we had, there were little colors to the dying trees. Some scientific reason about fungi and decay. Donnie had explained it, but I barely payed attention.
Not that I wasn’t paying attention to him: I was too focused. We were working on a new lego set and I had one to many to drink to pit the small plastic pieces together so he took over and his fingers though larger than mine, were so nimble and they pursued the legos with ease as he assembled a BD-1 droid: my present to him after we finished The Fallen Order together.
The thought of us playing made me smile. I played through most of the game, getting my Star Wars fix, but when it became too difficult, I’d get so frustrated and Donnie would laugh and take the controller from me and defeat whatever stood in my way. I loved and hated him for it.
But that didn’t change the fact that New York was wet and colorless.
Mikey
- he was buzzing.
- Buzzing being an understatement.
- it was his first time starting the new year with someone.
- He seen it in the movies and couldn’t believe it was happening to him.
- Everyone gathered in the lair, the boys taking a well deserved night off fighting crime.
- Donatello did a bit of fiddling with the tv and bam, the count down was happening right infront of him.
- Everyone was merry with drink, including the tangerine turtle.
- He was so overwhelmed, so excited.
- When the time came to do the count down he took both of your hands in his , following along with the numbers, the excitement that radiated from those baby blues made your heart sore, his dimples on full display.
- As the count down came to one you were in his arms in a flurry of motion, taking you by the waist and hoisting you off your feet, lips connecting. He smiled into the kiss, it was short and chaste. Perfect.
- When he broke away he still refused to place you down, he was beaming.
- Looking up at you with such hope, radiating the purest of energy.
- “Here’s to twenty twenty four!”
- He would spin you until you’re dizzy, the two of you laughing along the way.
Donatello
- this was probably the only night you knew you would get Donnie pure undivided attention.
- He was happy to do it.
- Unlike Mikey he was a lot more low-key in his happiness .
- He never showed how absolutely ecstatic he was.
- The whole night, never straying far from your side.
- Currently set on the sofa with you nuzzled cosily into his side, an arm draped over the back of the sofa.
- You just engaged in easy conversation, like you always did, you and Donnie could talk till the cows came home.
- As the count down began the purple terrapin wasted no time in pulling you into his lap.
- Usually not a fan of pda but tonight, he couldn’t care less.
- You counted down and as you did he kissed the crown of your head, a shit eating smile never once leaving his face.
- He was practically giddy, a hand resting on your knee as he joined in on the count down.
- It was you that kissed him, taking him aback.
- He just sunk into it , hands cradling you , one remaining on your thigh , the other cupping your cheek. His thumb delicately brushing against your cheek. It was soft, it was easy. Just like breathing.
- When he broke the kiss he was breathless and greatful. So happy.
- He began his assault as he peppered kisses across your faces, drunk on the sound of your laughter.
Leonardo
- unlike the rest, Leonardo was happy in a more solemn way.
- He felt so so blessed.
- Looking around at his friends, his family. He had everything he needed right here.
- Then you walked into his life and showed him true , unapologetic love and loyalty.
- The only thing snapping him from his stare was you, gently tugging at his arm.
- Turning to look at you, an easy smile broke onto his features, staring down at you with such adoration.
- You were counting down , urging him to count along with you, he rolled his eyes with a sarcastic flare before breaking into a low chuckle.
- He began to count.
- The closer the numbers got to one, the closer he got to you.
- Hands sliding along your hips.
- Pulling you flush against him.

- the whole day Raph pretended like this wasn’t a big deal.
- It was just the end of the month, he didn’t understand why everyone was so bent out of shape about the new year.
- It had made you relatively upset, you were excited to be bringing in the new year with the man you had fallen in love with.
- ten minutes out from the count down you were surprised when your darling dearest bumped you with his shoulder, then nodded to the exit.
- You opened your mouth to protest but instead he just took a hold of your shoulders and manoeuvred you out of the lair before someone noticed.
- “ shhh you are gonna’ blow my surprise” he scoffed, affronted.
- Without another word he had put his tooth pick between his teeth then had whisked you off your feet all in the same breath.
- Surprisingly , you found yourself above ground , atop a large building.
- “ Raph we are Gonna miss the count down”
- “ we ain’t missing nothin’ “ he put his tooth pick back in his pocket before pointing to his phone, a timer counting down.
- At your confused expression he rolled his eyes.
- In true Raph fashion he spun you around , “ trust me, this is tha’ best seat in the house.” After pointing what direction to look ,his large form loomed behind your back, pulling you snugly into his plastron, arms caging around you.
- the size difference never being more apparent.
- The warmth radiating from him chased away the December chill, encouraging you to nuzzle your back further into the security of his hold.
- He pulled his phone out for both of you to see.

- With an almighty bang the sky exploded into an explosion of colour , fizzling and popping , the dark winter sky alight with fireworks.
- Raph must have planned the best spot to see the spectacle from.
- Taking your hand he spun you around in a dance like manner, quick and disorientating.

- You could feel the vibrations as a roguish laugh reverberated through him.
- Taking your chin in his fingers, tilting your head back he kissed you.
- It was a world falling off its axis level kiss.
- One to make your head spin, he was greedy as he gathered you into his arms, his hands on either side of your face, gently brushing your hair back as he deepened the kiss.
