how do you do it, they wonder? how do you hold all these imperfections inside you without rotting at the core? how can you manage to bleed so beautifully, break so thoroughly, and feel so deeply, but not simply drown under the weight of it all? how are you capable of looking death in the eye, and not blinking a lid? how is it that you keep going forward, when you have nowhere to go? how do you do all of this? ah, well, that’s no secret. it’s because they’re so incredibly familiar. you’ve known all of these things since you were born. the taste of blood is like a second saliva in your mouth. your skin has bruised so much, and your bones have cracked so often, the pain is just second nature to you now. so many things have slipped from your hands, yet still you choose to hold onto what you can. oh, what an utterly tragic, yet beautiful thing it is— to be so very, truly, undeniably human.

idk which I like better, Ardyn never killed Luna and in the ten years Noctis is asleep Luna gives herself up and is consumed by deamons to try and fight in his place until he returns, and Noctis returns and ends up having to kill her too, or Luna tries to heal Ardyn and ends up taking the deamons from him, and now Noctis has to kill just her and deal with a mortal Ardyn who’s probably so lost and conflicted and distraught now that he’s not borderline possessed.
